  1. Here is the full quote: "I feel like if you have a great team, and our goal is to win a championship and be the last team standing and get better each day, I think it's disrespectful towards my teammates talking about my free agency and what I'm going through," Antetokounmpo said. "So when the time is right, we're all gonna talk about it. I don't think the time is right."
  2. A 0 WAR team is not expected to have 0 wins over the course of a season. A 0 WAR team would win about 47 or 48 games over the course of a season. https://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2018/12/26/18155292/correlation-war-wins-pythagorean-expectation-second-order-wins-third-order-wins WAR is actually a very good approximation of wins over the course of a season (on average).
  3. It’s also somewhat unfair to lump that group together. While he made that much this year, it’s skewed because he made far less in the earlier years of his contract(s). Averaging it with other previous salaries makes the number seem less They signed him to an extension averaging 19 million a year (plus 2 million a year deferred) in 2011. There's no "He made far less earlier in the contract" portion of this.
  4. You also have to look at who he would've replaced, Travis Shaw started 13 of those 21 games.
  5. I found this read absolutely fascinating and thought it deserved its own thread. I shouldn't be surprised by all the shady business... but I am. https://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2019/9/30/20888890/btbs-exclusive-the-baseball-eddie-dominguez-dayan-viciedo-manfred-selig-biogenesis Some highlights: Jordan Schafer's suspension: On Human Trafficking:
  6. I don't know about that. His bullpen management leaves a lot to be desired and he certainly can't blame talent or resources for this. If I'm a Cub fan I'd have to be a little disappointed with his tenure. He led them to a World Series title for the first time in over 100 years. No real Cub fan is disappointed with his tenure at all. Not in the least.
  7. While we try to have a conversation around one piece of ridiculousness, they spout 7 more. There is only one solution to arguments like this: Ignoring them.
  8. In play, run(s) That a boy, Orlando!
  9. Yah, I could get some of it close, but I remember getting Row 4-5 in the outfield box last year for the NLDS. It gave me best available of like Row 9. Considering I was getting in from the get go I thought I might have been able to get at least first five rows down the line, especially only looking for a single seat. I was not really interested in the $150+ price tag for infield...not for the Wild Card game at least. They made the playoffs last year. Yelich won the MVP. Season ticket holders went up a good chunk. Way less seats available.
  10. Went on vacation. Did a lot of hiking. Brewers kept winning. Did the most unique and amazing hike of my life - The Narrows at Zion National Park
  11. Didn't Yost bean a guy in like a one or two run game? I seem to recall something like that happening. Edit: I think it was this game: https://www.espn.com/mlb/news/story?id=3039761 With the Brewers trailing 3-2 in the eighth, McClung threw the ball behind Pujols, clipping the Cardinals slugger on the right elbow. St. Louis went on to score four runs in the inning and won the game 7-3. This was a September game in the middle of a pennant race mind you. Fireable offense, IMO. Yes. He also once had Brian Shouse walk Ryan Howard to face Pat Burrell. https://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/8077/prospectus-today-justice-in-milwaukee/
  12. Wild Card Game ticket costs: $235.00 Field Diamond Platinum $215.00 Field Diamond Box $140.00 Field Infield Platinum $130.00 Field Infield Box $90.00 Field Outfield Box $105.00 Loge Diamond Box $90.00 Loge Infield Box $70.00 Loge Outfield Box $90.00 Club Infield Box $90.00 Club Outfield Box $55.00 Terrace Box $60.00 Field Bleachers Box $55.00 Field Bleachers $55.00 Loge Bleachers $45.00 Terrace Reserved $45.00 Bernies Terrace $109.25 Johnsonville Party Deck So, a bit more than 2x normal price for most seats.
  13. Here are Ken Macha's starting pitchers: 2009: Looper Gallardo Suppan Parra Bush 2010: Wolf Gallardo Bush Narveson Parra But yeah, they totally underperformed playing nearly .500 ball for two seasons.
  14. I'm trying to come up with a scenario where the Brewers would host a tiebreaker game.... that would only be if the Cubs clawed back and tied for WC2, right? Division tiebreaker would be in St Louis?
  15. It'll be Counsell's 4th, does he count?
  16. "Josh is our closer. Freddy is our 8th inning guy. Burnsie is our 7th inning guy. That's how we work."
  17. Good manager, nice managerial career with 16 years as skipper. Too bad he was fired in 2008 as a knee jerk reaction, probably would have gotten more out of the 2009 and 2010 clubs than Ken Macha. I mean, if Yost had one great talent, it was in coaching guys like Dave Bush, Jeff Suppan and Braden Looper to throw with sub 3 ERA's.
  18. 81 wins. A total of ten of them by the 2-4.starters in the opening day rotation. Duct tape, thumb tacks, and some Velcro are holding this team together right now.... Yet... Here they go.
  19. Are we allowed to dub him FreitAAAAs yet? I was told in no uncertain terms that he would solve all of the brewers problems vs LHP. Has this not been the case?
  20. He looks like me when I'm lazily playing catch and he hits triple digits.
  21. It looks like no. Per Jayson Stark here: https://www.espn.com/blog/jayson-stark/post/_/id/1866/if-three-teams-tie-for-nl-wild-card-its-going-to-get-crazy
  22. Your "Fake News" schitck is getting old. Congratulations on being the 2nd person in my 15 years here that I'm putting on ignore. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=38025&p=1237668&hilit=Attanasio#p1237644 viewtopic.php?f=63&t=38653&p=1229323&hilit=Attanasio#p1229323 viewtopic.php?f=63&t=38943&p=1249474&hilit=66+million#p1249474 viewtopic.php?f=63&t=38943&p=1249468&hilit=66+million#p1249468 viewtopic.php?f=63&t=38943&hilit=66+million&start=20#p1249431
