  1. 07/08/09 is really feeling it.
  2. The 80's Bucks were amazing, but they only lost once to the Bulls, in 89-90. The 90's Bucks were horrible (They missed the playoffs from '92-98) and never lost to the truly great Chicago Bulls.
  3. Regional sports networks are "guaranteed" 70 games to broadcast for their money, that's the number the NBA will want to hit in the regular season - at least per Brian Windhorst. Now, all teams won't hit that threshold (the Lakers and Bucks most likely won't, because of too many national TV games), but the less the NBA has to refund the better for their bottom line. My guess is they would schedule 2 weeks of games, and try to get everyone up to 70-72 games (the Bucks are at 65 right now)
  4. Their governor is a moron. Plain and simple. Didn't do anything around social distancing, until April 2nd. Re-opened beaches which Tybee and Savannah had shut down weeks earlier during that same order.
  5. The only beef I've done sous vide is a chuck roast, and it came out incredible. Mostly followed this recipe: https://skillet.lifehacker.com/how-to-make-chuck-roast-taste-like-prime-rib-1824215335 Chicken thighs and pork loin are my go-to's for meal prep. So easy and re-heat so easily.
  6. I was looking at some numbers yesterday. Wisconsin appears to have four hot zones: #1: Milwaukee/Racine/Kenosha - economic corridor #2: Ozaukee/Washington/Waukesha - collar counties #3: Dane/Columbia/Sauk - UW & BR towns #4: Fond du Lac - Nile River trip These ten counties have 2693 of the 3213 cases and 124 of the 137 deaths. I'd say continue the order in each region until daily new cases recede for that region + 14 days. The remaining 62 counties could re-open non-essential business if they operate at 50% capacity and maintain social distancing. Re-open the parks. Don't know about re-opening the schools. Detractors will point out limited hospital facilities if the cases were to start increasing. I mean, is that surprising? Milwaukee county has the same population as the lowest populated 40 counties of the state combined. The only population dense area that hasn't been hit yet (apparently) is the Outagamie/Brown county area - Green Bay/Appleton/Oshkosh. These smaller population areas haven't been hit because they are already population distanced. Adding actual social distancing on top of it is saving peoples lives there.
  7. No Yoga, but my wife teaches a strong body class (geared to older adults) as part of her duties as a physical therapy asst. She has been "making" me do it 3 times a week. I shared with her the three things you have learned. She had a good laugh - they are the same things I have been complaining about. The thing is, I'm in decent shape. I bike often, I play ultimate frisbee. I've just never been flexible and I've been overweight for 15 years.
  8. It's been more than a year. I'm 41 years old. I just felt the need, in the time of corona.... bourbon is delicious.
  9. I have been trying to get outside, for at least a walk around the block, every day. I'm lucky enough to still be full-time-employed, so I do work 8 hours a day, albeit from home. I've been doing yoga, and a foam roller routine almost daily, and I've learned three things: 1) My shoulders are weak as heck. 2) My hamstrings are about a foot too short 3) My calves are actually made of concrete.
  10. I've had Terrace Box seats since I moved to Milwaukee.... 16 years ago (damn, I'm old). I love sitting up high and watching how outfielders track the ball. We've been absolutely blessed. It was also amazing watching how many times Braun ran the wrong way his first few seasons in LF.

  12. Yeah, with the extreme lack of testing, then suddenly flooding the country with available tests, it really destroys any data. We'd have to extrapolate the curve backwards based on other countries findings to get a sense of where we actually are and where we might be heading.

  14. Data? What data? All the data we have is horrible. People cannot get tested. China has stopped testing as has Italy. Right now we have 47 PAs across 5 seasons and we're trying to make assumptions on it. What we know is this grows exponentially and it can and will overwhelm our hospital infrastructure

    Pizza

I'm a big fan of Lalli's pizza on 89th and North in Milwaukee. Other favorites include, Pizzeria Scottie's for deep dish and Taratino's for a solid thin crust.
  16. Stop. Just stop posting ridiculous mythical talking points. the above is 100% UNPROVEN in regards to COVID-19.
  17. Kid Friendly, food type places: Who's on Third and Buck Bradley's both have good food and tables and are sports barish.
  18. The problem isn't as much the virus' mortality rate, it's the length of care that is required for those who do survive - 2+ week hospital stays. This virus, if we continue as we are as a nation, is going to overwhelm our hospital infrastructure and cause many more deaths as a result. The goal, right now, needs to be to slow the spread of the virus so we don't overwhelm our hospitals. It's not inciting a panic, it's not being a worrywort. It's science and math. https://www.statnews.com/2020/03/10/simple-math-alarming-answers-covid-19/
  19. He's a corner OF. There have been 60 10+WAR seasons by position players in MLB history, the best comparison probably being Harper's age 22 season, as they both played corner OF positions. Harper put up a 198 OPS+ that year, and was worth 78 runs with his bat. Yelich was worth 52 and 56 runs with his bat the past two seasons. --All numbers from b-r --
  20. So, let's do some quick math.... from 2022 until 2028 he'll make 26M per season. After age 30, the rule of thumb is players lose 0.5 war per season, we'll say Yelich is a 6 WAR player (his average over the past 3 seasons). So, 3 seasons of 6 war (through 2022) then (2023) 5.5, 5, 4.5, 4, 3.5 and 3 WAR in 2028. The total.... 43.5 WAR. Using Fangraphs estimates: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-recent-history-of-free-agent-pricing/ So, at 11M per WAR, Yelich will be worth about 478M of value.
  21. No word if this supersedes the current three years on his deal or not.
  22. 30-5. This team is ridiculous. As a side note, the Spurs hold the 8th seed out west at 13-18. I just can't believe how bad San Antonio, Portland and Minnesota have been this year.
  23. When no one plays 100 games at 1B, 2B or 3B on the season, you're going to have a ton of different lineups
  24. While Keon was featured, I always enjoyed his catch against the Twins on the 4th of July more, even though the situation wasn't as big (wouldn't have tied the game) the catch was just incredible. Here's that Yuni/Weeks play:
  25. I feel as though if I sit down and watch the original trilogy (IV-VI) then I can see the entire story unfold and truly watch as Luke grows from point A to point B to point C. VII to IX, feels like 3 completely different stories, completely disjointed without any overarching story or plot points. The movies just happen to have the same actors. Does that make sense?
