  1. After going to T-Mobile Park this year where they have attempted to make a pink sponsor blend with a green palette I have realized that things could be much, much worse. The Brewers will have a great opportunity to rebrand everything in their stadium at once with the new logo+colors+sponsor. Or incorporating a giant down arrow like down on the South Side of Chicago.
  2. "Whatever, Dude."
  3. Not sure if you mean you don't understand why we need DST or why we need to switch back and forth twice a year. As discussed above, if states start switching to just one time all year round, it's seems more logical to go with DST over ST. I think we should just leave it as one time and not switch. It's always 7:10. Time for a ballgame.
  4. They posted Lopez up because Houston put a 6'5" guy on him. My second biggest worry is the teams current happiness with early shot clock above the break 3's, often times with only one pass and no screens at all. Ball movement, handoffs, screens still need to happen, even in the 5-out offense. The Korver/Giannis two man game being a prime example. My biggest worry is Giannis doesn't seem like himself. He's shot at least 6-7 layups this year already, which would've been dunks last year.
  5. The only advice I can give is the buffet at the Wynn is amazing, and if you go at about 2:30 and plan to stay for a couple hours, you can get both Lunch and dinner fares.
  6. It's not a 100 million difference. Supermax: 35% of the Cap + 8% raises each season, up to 5 years. Max: 30% of the cap + 8% raises each season, only 4 years. 247 Million over 5 years would be the super max. The max would be about 170 over 4 years, plus then he'd be eligible for the 10 year, 35% of the cap maximum moving forward with a 5th year starting salary around 50M. So, 220 Million. He'd be leaving about 25 million on the table.
  7. I saw Greener Grass last night. It was a lot of fun, a weird and outlandish take on suburban culture with a lot of laughs.
  8. It is not written into the CBA, it is an underlying legal doctrine (https://dictionary.law.com/Default.aspx?selected=906) which governs contracts. There have been many appeals against this doctrine, but it has always held that collective bargaining agreements (like MLB's) must adhere to this standard. Anyway, if you'd like to get into more legalese (I was fascinated by this when the Brewers screwed over JJ Hardy) Fangraphs has a great summary: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/a-possible-legal-argument-against-service-time-manipulation/
  9. Yeah, when it's close to 50%, that's too much. Keon is either a starting CF for a team that is buying time for rebuilding, or he is a 5th outfielder on a very good team. "Strikeouts don't matter" is a shortened version of the full axiom, "compared to any other kind of out for a hitter" Broxton's problem with contact is an issue, but in reality it's that he simply makes too many outs. If he struck out 45% of the time and still managed to OBP'd .400, every team in MLB would want him.
  10. Correa with one of the best HR celebrations I've ever seen. Amazing.
  11. They are a complete joke. They protect the programs, not the students. It looks as though Potter will be eligible starting Dec 21st vs UWM.
  12. You should have said that it's not looking good for Brewer fans, especially those with tickets for games during the first couple weeks of 2020. Because if Stearns thinks Hiura will be Super 2 eligible, then Keston is probably beginning the season in AAA. He has options left, there would be nothing preventing the Brewers from doing this. EDIT - I counted Hiura's day of service time and came up with 114. Considering how unusually low 115 is, I think it would be a pretty safe assumption that Hiura will not be Super 2 eligible when the time comes. Except, as more teams manipulate the system to keep good players in the minors longer that date is going to continue to get lower and lower.
  13. jeff suppan and anthony swarzak had pillow issues. Will Smith hurt his knee trying to take his cleats off without untying them.
  14. This this this Sorry that is the 7th hole on my soon to be released Brewers themed mini golf course. Other holes include Treblehorn's Teachings, Runnin' Ron's Runnin' River and Maddux's Mustache.
  15. Three game 5's in the first round. Three win or go home games. Gosh, do I love baseball. Go Rays. Go Braves.
  16. I mean, at least it wasn't salad tongs?
  17. Justin Verlander may very well win the Cy Young and led the league in HRs given up. Hader has an elite fastball with movement. You don't think that the entire season the strategy was "Sit on his fastball and tee off on it."? Hader has now given up hits at the lowest rate ever for any pitcher with over 100 innings pitched. Your theory about players teeing off doesn't jive with what has actually happened.

You don't think that the entire season the strategy was "Sit on his fastball and tee off on it."? Hader has now given up hits at the lowest rate ever for any pitcher with over 100 innings pitched. This idea that guys are "sitting on the fastball" and teeing off on it is ludicrous.
  19. It is fascinating to me, over the last two years, how "un-fun" the postseason has been. Even Moose's walk-off in Game 1 of the NLDS felt more like a relief. Winning Game 6 felt like it brought another day of nervous tension. There's wonder in that tension for sure, and I hope we get more of it, but the playoffs remind you how cruel and random baseball can be. I mean a weird HBP and a broken bat single turned that WC game. By the way, in Game 7 of the 2001 WS series, Craig Counsell came up with runners at 2nd and 3rd in a tie game against Mariano Rivera. He got hit on the hand. Luis Gonzalez then hit a little flair to win it. Baseball is weird. That's why I love it. That's why it breaks my heart. I don't remember anybody being really dejected when the Brewers got punked by the Phillies in '08. We treated the WC clinch like a pennant. We're greedy now. The entire last week of that season was such a roller coaster - Wes Helms helping the Brewers get a playoff spot. For me at least, the Ben Sheets injury really took the wind out of my sails. Had the team had CC & Sheets, I would've loved their chances to win it all that year.
  20. They were 4th in baseball and first in the NL in pitches per PA as hitters. They made pitchers work more than any other NL team.
  21. It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. https://mason.gmu.edu/~rmatz/giamatti.html
  22. This just isn't true. There is plenty of history of starting pitchers coming in, in relief, in the playoffs and dominating. Just last year Boston effectively used 4 different starters coming out of the pen in the playoffs - Price, Sale, Evoldi and Price. I do hope you're right, though. I hope Woody hits in the first inning tonight (and the second...).
  23. Is it time to go home yet? Nope? Darn. 17 seconds later.... Is it time to go home yet? Nope? Darn. Less than 7 hours.
  24. I wonder what they'd have to say about Badger fans favorite cheer, "Shoot 'em like a horse!"
