  1. I just don't see how it's a problem. Everyone keeps wanting to say it's a problem, but it isn't. Why is it fair that the Bulls have the same shot at the #1 pick as the 76ers or TWolves or Lakers? Because they dealt with injuries all year and that's the only reason they missed the playoffs?
  2. My understanding is that it's a coin flip for who gets the higher pick if no one moves up. However the # of lottery balls will be split among those who are tied for the chance to move up. So if 3 teams are tied, 8,9,10... and normally their odds are 10%, 8% and 6% (for example) they would all end up with an 8% chance to move up. Also, playing guys 40 minutes and beating the 76ers in overtime basically cost the Bucks 10% higher chance at getting a top 3 pick. Sigh.

  4. 1) Congrats on the soon-to-be parent! 2) Try outs are the norm... at least in my field (I.T.) Companies use it as a final screening process. Who you are on paper doesn't compare (at all) to who you are analytically/socially/ability-wise... which is who they want to hire. 3) If you like your current supervisor and you have the ability to grow at your current job, stay there. You'll find there are a lot more terrible bosses than good ones. Companies are starting to learn this, but, it's a slow process. For example, in IT, many companies, once you get to a point as a programmer, your next step is to become a manager. What does being an amazing programmer have to do with being a good manager? Absolutely nothing. Not a single thing. Leads to a lot of awful managers.
  5. The Bucks were also a total of 47 games under .500 with Brandon Knight as their starting Point Guard. So, what exactly are you saying? Brandon Knight wasn't the issue, before or after the trade. It was having the best bench in the league for the first half of 2014-2015, then having everyone get hurt, then giving away that depth for nothing in return this off season, plus trading a first and second round pick for a lack of depth in Vasquez.
  6. By comparison, last season, through 15 games, the team had 25 walks, 43 walks through the 22 games in April.
  7. The grill and table are in the trunk. The cooler is full of ice and beer. The camp stove is ready to heat water for hot toddies and hot cocoa. Baseball is back tomorrow, and tailgating season officially begins.
  8. Thanks guys, we had an interesting discussion about this over beers last night, and we sort of came to the idea that it's of a prominent figure, and is also not based on monetary gain, a crime of passion or a twisted desire to kill. Happy Friday!
  9. Why are some things called assassinations and other things called murders?
  10. You like them I would imagine? Ever had any problems. Never had any issues, and it's worked just fine for me both on my tablet and my desktop.
  11. 0 fouls on Notre Dame the last 8:21. The Badgers still had a chance to win, still should've won... but that stat just shocks me.
  12. I use https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ but that lifehacker link above has more details.
  13. I'm interested in getting one for various reasons, but I don't know a lot about them, so I have questions. 1. Do they impact browsing/streaming speeds? Unless you're twitch gaming, you won't really notice the difference unless you connect to a horrible server. They will increase your latency slightly, but you won't notice it doing normal browsing/streaming. 2. Does it work to circumvent blackouts? Depending on the VPN service. Yes. Right now, I'm somewhere in Germany..... now I'm back in Milwaukee. 3. Are you less susceptible to virus attacks, or does that have more to do with security software? You're still susceptible. Your computer is still connected to the internet, and if you're browsing sketchy sites or downloading and installing things your vpn won't protect you from that. 4. Does anyone out there play Strat-O-Matic via netplay with a VPN? I ask because there have been some security software programs that have interfered in the past for me. Can't help you there, but a VPN is not security software. It is masking/encryption software. 5. Benefits are anonymous browsing, more secure when using open wi-fi, and..........? You've hit it right on the head. That's pretty much the two huge benefits. http://lifehacker.com/5940565/why-you-should-start-using-a-vpn-and-how-to-choose-the-best-one-for-your-needs
  14. The biggest obstacle to losing 100 games is the fact that the 6 worst teams in baseball might be in the National League -- Padres, Rockies, Brewers, Reds, Braves, Phillies. That means, 19 games against the Reds, 7 against SD, Philadephia and Atlanta, as well as 6 against the Rockies. That's 46 games where it would be very tough for them to be more than a few games under .500.
  15. Turned absolutely brutal today in Milwaukee/Waukesha for rush hour. Freezing rain/sleet/snow mix after it rained overnight, clearing all that wonderful salt off the roads. Thankfully, people actually still remembered how to drive in winter weather.
  16. There is a rather large difference. You buy high end, you're almost always good for life (and most will come with a lifetime guarantee as well).
  17. It's always been a problem... but I am a bit surprised that A&M and Oklahoma couldn't fill up that arena.
  18. The biggest problem is the initial sales are for the entire weekend. So you're buying 4 games on Friday and/or 2 games on Sunday. If your team loses on Friday (or plays the first game on Sunday) you're left scrambling to try to sell your tickets off.
  19. I think if the Badgers make it, and play WVU, they might lose by 40.....
  20. Some have already been released so I imagine not very long. I've read on other message boards that the Badgers will play at 5:50 pm on Friday, but I don't have an official source for that. Some times and channels are slowly populating on the CBS Sports website, but that is not one of them. Edit: UWGB is playing on Friday at 6:20 pm on TBS (same time as the Badgers are rumored to be playing). http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2016-03-13/march-madness-ncaa-tournament-television-schedule-turner-sports-and-cbs Badgers at 6:50, UWGB at 7:20. Thanks, NCAA
  21. It's if they make the sweet 16. Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games are in the same spot. Where was Kansas supposed to play? Honestly? Their first two games are in Des Moines, which is a 3.5 hour drive from Kansas City. Comparing Louisville to Chicago, both are about 8 hour drives from Kansas City.
  22. Always loved Randy. Got us to the playoffs and had a darn good 2011. Threw ridiculously slow curve balls.
  23. Monroe signed a two year deal with a 3rd year player option. He'll be opting out after next season. Better to get something for him sooner rather than nothing for him later.
