  1. Brandon Knight: Dec 11th, 1991 Khris Middleton: Aug 12th, 1991 Apparently Brandon Knight will hit his ceiling in 4 months in March? Also, yes, Giannis did just start working on his jump shot last year. They told him to stop shooting jumpers, rebuilt his shot, changed his release point and now he has a higher release and larger arc on his shot. So far this year, he's averaging 18.2 per 36 on 60% TrueShooting%. At 20. Durant at 20: 23.3 on .577 TS% LeBron at 20: 23.1 on .554 TS% Giannis is really, really good right now.
  2. Knight wasn't the leader on the floor last year. That was Dudley, Zaza, and Mayo. This year, I'd still say it's Mayo, which is why they missed him so much when he was hurt. He's been flying around on rotations and bringing people's energy up since he returned. Why do they need a go to scorer? Why does the team have to play hero-ball to be successful? Are they going to win the title this year? No? Giannis and Jabari will be the go-to scorers next year and in the future. Right now, it's probably Middleton, however. He hit some pretty huge shots last year, in case you forgot. A 20 year old is inconsistent. Not a shocker when the offense doesn't run through him yet and he's a believer in team basketball. Knight had a 4 game stretch where he went 18-27-12-17 this year. All over the map.
  3. I think you're very much overselling what Knight brought to the team, and you're really underselling what 20 year old Jabari is doing right now with limited minutes and in his first 10 games back from a knee injury. The Dirk-esque one foot stepback at 12s is pretty amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3JEtwMvp5o Knight isn't some great point guard. His 2014-15 assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.75 ranked 67th out of 84 qualified point guards. 114 of his total turnovers, or 60.3 percent, were chalked up to "bad passes". He had a defensive RPM of -1.85 with the Bucks and Suns last season, ranking 382nd out of 474 total NBA players last season. That's well below average. They are slow on rotations, which leads to poor defensive rebounding and no fast breaks. They've also only had their starting 5 play a total of 45 minutes together on the season.
  4. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/david-stearns-on-his-vision-for-building-the-brewers/ A nice read over at fangraphs including lots of words from Stearns. Including this gem:
  5. You guys. You really scared me with the thread title. Phew. http://onmilwaukee.com/images/articles/yu/yunieskybetancourtneeded/yunieskybetancourtneeded_fullsize_story1.jpg
  6. https://www.brewersassociation.org/industry-updates/2014-craft-beer-data-infographic/ Craft breweries have more than doubled their volume market share since 2010, and are at nearly 20% of the dollar share in the market. Everyone has their own taste, and to each their own... I am not a beer snob and I love a High Life in the Molitor lot as much as anyone. No one brewery is going to take down the giants, and you're right, brand loyalty is not a huge thing among craft beer drinkers -- but a change is happening.
  7. How so? I'd imagine that FV is referring to the "big boys" slowly and steadily losing chunks of their market share to the craft beer market.
  8. Yes, I'm a Star Wars fan. http://www.polygon.com/2014/8/18/6030725/star-wars-hd-despecialized-edition
  9. The taller you are at the same weight, the more difficult pushups become - you're lifting the weight higher, and you're making a longer lever as well. For an easy example, imagine holding a bat out by the handle, it'll get heavy pretty quickly. Now, if you flip that bat around and hold it by the middle (shortening the lever) you'll be able to hold it up for a much longer period of time. Note: No, this is not a wholly accurate picture, bit it's a simple example.
  10. Gasol is from Memphis. He was never going anywhere no matter what, regardless of what Conley wants to do. I don't think the Bucks don't need to pay a PG. They probably can't afford to. They need a cheap defense oriented guard who can initiate the offense. Maybe MCW gets there, right now he is light years better than anything else they have on the defensive end, and 90% of what they have on the offensive end. I don't understand why people don't like Middleton. He was really, really, really good last year after they traded Knight. He might be shouldering too much of the burden early on, but his shot will come around (and he's not taking bad shots, unlike Vasquez)... hopefully his usage goes down with Jabari coming back and as Monroe works his way into the offense more (he's also a huge part of why Monroe signed here).
  11. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/y2010/index.jsp?gid=2008_09_28_chnmlb_milmlb_1 There's the last game of the season. You can navigate around using the calendar at the top right. Edit: You can select "At Bat" to view highlights from the games.
  12. I think the rotation needs a veteran presence next year, that Garza just won't bring. http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/assets/4326495/colonlol.gif http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/imported_assets/2156493/2iKk2wt_medium.gif
  13. Time for a mound visit....

  15. Leadoff double... have a guy bunt who didn't have a sac bunt all season. Nedly gonna Ned.
  16. Lenny Dykstra says he used to blackmail umpires into giving him a better strikezone. https://amp.twimg.com/v/261514b1-14bd-4df3-bca9-f342d89d6da6
  17. With an actual antenna (outside, up high), I have no problems at all with watching stuff over the air. Trying with a set of rabbit ears, or a cheap "stand alone" antenna doesn't work very well. The Leaf wall mounted antenna has worked well for me as well.
  18. 2001. The only time in the lay 25 years they advanced past the first round.
  19. From Grantland: The Mets victory ensures that for the first time in history, the World Series will not involve one of Major League Baseball’s original 16 teams. I can't believe that hasn't happened before. Wow. Edited to Add: Looks like this would've only been possible since '62, when the league expanded to 10 teams in the NL ('61 it went to 10 in the AL). Still, 50 years!
  20. My Nephew just got his first apartment and he didn't even consider cable. He has the money for it but just doesn't want to spend it on cable. I think that is more of the norm than just old or poor people. Exactly. There is a HUGE chunk of younger people who don't watch any live TV, just want internet access, and Hulu/Prime/Netflix everything else they want. I haven't had cable in 5 years. I don't miss it one bit. I have a VPN, the MLB Package, the NBA Package and Sling. The one thing I miss a little is the Big Ten network, and if I desperately need to watch a Badger game, I can find a friend or local establishment showing it.
  21. Bartolo or Bust. He's the only SP I want the Brewers to go after this off season.
  22. Wow, already up 2.5 wins from the first line I saw posted. I think I'd take the under at 45... but just barely. I think they struggle quite a bit the first half of the season, then play really well in the second half as they get used to playing together & Jabari comes back fully healthy.
