  1. Me before the game: It's ok if we don't win, life's good Me now: WANT THIS GAME SO BAD
  2. Another consequence to losing is that our best-case scenario is heading right back to Wrigley on Thursday. Don't want that.
  3. The key to this game is getting to the Cubs bullpen ASAP. The Cubs are 5-1 against us this year when Quintana starts. We need to make this a bullpen game and play to our strengths.
  4. Will watch at work tomorrow--glad the game is at 10 AM since I have a busy afternoon. Expecting a close, competitive game.
  5. Our inability to secure a sweep vs. the Cubs earlier this month may have ultimately decided the division.
  6. I just hope St. Louis can win 1 game so that we at least control our own destiny. The Cards look finished.
  7. We just saw the Cards play three games of awful baseball...it's disappointing but not surprising that they are still bad.
  8. https://streamable.com/wzoi0 That's just pathetic. I would be livid if I was a Dodgers or Cardinals fan.
  9. The Rockies do not scare me as much outside of Coors Field, although they are +7 over .500 on the road this year. The Dodgers have the talent advantage--possibly on everyone in the NL--plus the postseason experience. The Dodgers just swept the Rockies...now the Rockies are beating up on an easier schedule.
  10. From the post-Yount era: The 2011 team was too top-heavy (both offense and pitching) and not built for winning in October. Great regular season team but never a true World Series contender. They also played quite poorly in the first half of the season before getting insanely hot in late July/August. The 2018 team will have a better postseason roster than 2011. 2018 also has a huge managing advantage. The 2011 team also played in an easier division but won 96 games which is impressive. I'll call it a wash at this point.
  11. The Cardinals really need this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. I expect them to come out fighting. Some 1st inning runs for the Brewers would be great to keep the momentum.
  12. Dodgers lose on a walkoff HR. Rockies now 1/2 back of NL West, 1/2 up on WC2.
  13. Yelich is starting to close in on a triple crown. 3 HR behind Carpenter, 6 RBI behind Baez. Wouldn't be easy, but at the pace he's been hitting...
  14. Not a good couple days to be a Cardinals fan. I can't believe this is happening to the other teams and not us. Unreal.
