  1. All the fans left in the stadium should be given free tickets for sticking this out one.
  2. My little brother's birthday is May 11th but that was a weekday so my dad took him to the game on Sunday which happened to be the game Sheets struck out 18. Now my little brother doesn't like baseball or pretty much any sport at all and my dad didn't let me or my brother go to that game with them for reasons still unknown to me. I'm still kind of mad about it. Forgot the Sheets game was that year also. Plus a 10-game winning streak [edit: never mind on that one--different year]. That was the first year they showed some life despite being generally terrible.
  3. There were a couple of wild Buckethead Brigade games in early 2004. The Chad Moeller cycle game vs. the Reds which Bill Hall won on a walkoff 9-8. Then the next one was the Helms walkoff (14 innings).
  4. Regular season NFL games are 90% boring so I can't even imagine how awful the preseason must be. That said, this baseball game is a snoozer as well.
  5. Certainly not knowing anything about other uses for Target Field or anything else Minnesota related, but one would think they would slightly skew the first week or two towards away games. The Red Sox for example start off the year on a 11 game road trip. Other teams get upset if MLB gives them too many home games in April. If the cold weather + open air stadium teams are going to get away games in April, then the Brewers will be stuck with a bunch of poorly-attended home games.
  6. The wild card is such a coin toss game that I'm having trouble getting excited about it. It's sort of like a free chance at the playoffs if we get lucky. Anyone but the Cardinals in that game as far as I'm concerned.
  7. The players union is opposed due to the extra travel so they would want something in return for this. There is potential for reform if expansion to 32 and realignment ever happens.
  8. We really need Braun to be healthy in late September and potentially October. I assume this is the reasoning behind some of the bullpen management as well. Our previous failures in the postseason were partially due to guys burning out and I like that we seem to be working to avoid this. Although hopefully not at the expense of making the playoffs in the first place.
  9. Actually what is amazing is how bad his numbers were before.....what he is doing now is what should happen when you make consistently hard contact. The bad numbers were partially due to luck. He was hitting the ball hard with a low BABIP. I do agree he his overall looking better lately but one wonders if some of that is related to momentum/confidence.
  10. Best manager... ...BF.net explodes
  11. They wouldn't have given Pina anything to hit with 1B open.
  12. Great year to be a west coast Brewers fan with games at LAD, LAA, SF, and Oakland. Definitely will make the trip to at least one of those series.
  13. This game could be an all-timer with a walkoff HR.
  14. Another reason for my optimism about the Brewers is that my other favorite team is a way bigger trainwreck, has never appeared in a World Series, blew a way bigger lead than the Brewers this year, has the longest playoff drought in major professional sports, and has virtually no hope for the near-future due to poor personnel decisions.
  15. This year exceeded my expectations as much as last year. I never expected them to win the division and I'm not going to get worked up over the coinflip play-in game. This year has been fun.
  16. The only thing this game is missing is Chad Moeller hitting for the cycle.
  17. It's like the Titanic... Speaking of...Scooter. LOL.
  18. It's a real shame that liveforoctober guy gave up on the team an hour ago after being a fan since the Cal Eldred days.
