  1. At this point I think everyone is voting for the upset to show ESPN how stupid this bracket is, not just Milwaukee fans. Edit: Caple on Twitter:
  2. The Brewers' social media machine picked up on this story and now Miller Park is leading PNC Park. Miller vs. PNC has 20,000 more votes than the other 3 polls. It would be awesome to shove it in the face of Caple by making him write a nice long article about how the fans voted Miller Park best in baseball. Miller Park vs. Camden Yards will start later today I think unless PNC turns it around at the last minute.
  3. Active parks that I've been to: 1. PNC Park (easily the best) 2. Miller Park 3. Wrigley Field 4. Camden Yards 5. Comerica Park 6. Great American BP 7. Marlins Park 8. Rogers Center 9. US Cellular Field Defunct parks: 1. Old Busch 2. Old Yankee 3. County Stadium 4. Metrodome 5. Riverfront/Cinergy 6. Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphins/Land Shark/Sun Life I think it's fair to rank Miller Park that high considering the overall atmosphere and fan support. Comerica is the most underrated, we had a really good time there. PNC is just spectacular though. One of the flaws of Marlins Park is that it has about the same number of seats as PNC but fails to capture that intimate feeling. I've driven by Tropicana but have no desire to go there.
  4. Ooohhh that was close. Can't argue with the call but could have gone either way.
  5. Nice to see Hart go the other way. Ball carrying well again today.
  6. That's the sad part isn't it? All those injuries and they have still managed to piece together decent production at most positions. After the Lucroy injury I thought that was the end, but it's clearly not the case. The team's biggest weakness is the bullpen, which also happens to be injury-free. And the funny thing is that bullpen help is one of the easiest things to get at the trade deadline. But on the other hand there are 9 teams fighting for those 2 wild card spots and the Brewers are in 9th place out of those teams. All of them are just about equally mediocre. All of them will be competing for those same trade pieces. So this team needs to give us a compelling reason why this season is worth saving in the next few weeks. We've seen signs of it, but they haven't put it all together.
  7. Gallardo is pitching on 4 days rest like usual. Fiers is after Gallardo.
  8. I think they should just leave them. What's the point of switching? Does it really matter if they blow the lead in the 8th or the 9th? As for increasing trade value, everyone knows that K-Rod can close so I don't think that makes a difference either. I also do not like the idea of giving Axford a demotion yet. His wife just had a baby so maybe he is distracted.
  9. Turborickey, I think part of the issue is that you've already completely made your mind up 100% about Roenicke and there is no way to even talk you into moving your position 1% in the other direction. It's basically like a political debate.
  10. The problem is when every questionable decision turns into "RR is an idiot...". Or decisions that have little or no consequence on the outcome of the game. It seems like some of you guys are looking for things to blame him for and aren't looking at it objectively. For instance, had Thornburg been pulled after the 5th and then Dillard came in and promptly blown the lead, you guys would have been right on RR's throat.
  11. Well that makes up for the Jays watching their homers :-)
  12. It was either tired Thornburg or Dillard for the 6th and I don't really like either option.
  13. Makes sense, I could see Thornburg as a 7th or 8th inning guy. But he still has time to learn how to deal with fatigue, it happens to all pitchers and he can learn to use his pitches properly.
  14. Thorny has good breaking pitches but that fastball has nothing. Maybe it did earlier in the game? (I just started watching last inning) Nice to see the fans give him a hand though.
  15. Both pitchers will probably leave the game in the 7th with the score tied 0-0.
  16. Off the slide, about 460-470 feet I think. From the replay, I'm actually disappointed it hit the slide, otherwise it would have been out the window Sammy Sosa style.
  17. Green is the odd man out for now, and it's hard to debate considering his numbers compared with Hart and Aoki. Weeks obviously isn't going to sit when he is showing signs of waking up.
  18. Carroll was watching the ball, he saw the throw was airmailed and kept going.
  19. I'm tempted to say no, but you never know with that 2nd wild card. There's probably not going to be a blockbuster, but they will be able to fly under the radar and hopefully get some help from the minors, especially in the 2nd half of 2013. There's going to be a lot of money spent in the NL, but probably not much in the NL Central. The Pirates are the team that should go for it in 2013. It's too early to tell though, we will know more if they sell some pieces in the next month and a half.
