    Lots of empty seats in both Houston and Baltimore. So there just doesn't seem to be much fan interest in the Wild Card series, or at least for weekday afternoon games.

    The Astros were gifted a postseason birth in the weakest division in baseball. Would love to see them sent packing in 2.

    The NFL would never be stupid enough to schedule a Packers game at 4:30 on a Tuesday.

    It's a product of (1) game start time and (2) we're such consistent winners that the opening round is no longer a novelty. Just looking at ticket sales, it's going to be an upper-30,000s crowd, I doubt anyone will even notice that there are a few thousand unsold seats. It will be a loud, energetic crowd. I don't blame people for waiting for the NLDS/NLCS (if we win...).

    The Mets are not looking good in this game. It's also raining, but radar suggests it won't be enough to trigger a delay.

    Now that we've had 8 wild card series... 7/8 have been sweeps. The 3/6 series has gone 2-2. The 4/5 series has gone 1-3 in favor of the 5-seed.

    The team that wins the first game will not have much motivation to win the second.

    TV schedules. I guess it could be subject to change depending on the time zones of the hosts. I assume the Astros will steal our prime time slot and the Padres will get the late start.

    You have to beat bad opponents. The Rays and White Sox had their chances against the White Sox as well and didn't take advantage. The 6 teams behind the Orioles fighting for those last 2 spots are all pretty much equally mediocre.

    I would just use the secondary market for the WC round and wait until it's announced that these games start in the afternoon (most likely 3 PM). The time slots for the 4 games on Tuesday (central time) are noon, 3 PM, 6 PM, and 9 PM.

    And that’s totally fair, going from a 19/20 chance to a 1/2 coin toss is a rough slide. The good news for the Twins is that the odds are better than the vibes. They are winning games and losing close ones. They should be able to get luckier with 1-run games and hope the Tigers come down from their unsustainable hot streak before the season is over — except that we’re in small sample territory now so crazy stuff like the Mariners stealing that spot isn’t completely out of the realm of possibilities…one team goes 3-0 this weekend and the others go 1-2 and the race could completely flip.
