  1. I still like their chances to put a rally together in the 9th. Let Kottaras lead off.
  2. So now I am wondering, since Ortiz will get a 5+ game suspension, does he get to participate in the HR derby and all-star game?
  3. Looks like the Red Sox got into a fight again...have to check the highlights on this one. Edit: Ortiz picked a fight on a popup, instigated by the Orioles pitcher. Ortiz may be big but he doesn't know how to throw a punch. Red Sox were winning 10-3 at the time.
  4. I like that RR doesn't intentionally walk guys. The bad defense is really frustrating for the fans, and I'm sure the pitchers don't like it much either.
  5. I know Greinke's been inconsistent this year, but this a very important series and if he can shut down the Reds tonight it will be a big step in the right direction.
  6. Terrible incident and I feel bad for everyone involved. I know this probably won't make much of a difference, but I think MLB needs to remind fans not to lean over railings (the same way they do with watching out for flying bats and balls) and also install some warning signs near low railings. Those of us that closely follow MLB are aware of these incidents, but the average fan may not perceive the risk in the same way if they are not aware of the list of previous incidents. Also, I think the accident rate has gone up slightly because there are more ballparks now with 3-4 levels and more front row seats with a big drop. People also just need to remember that it's just a $10 baseball, not Barry Bonds' 700th HR or anything like that. I do not support any increases in fences or railing heights. The railing was sufficiently high. The railings at Miller Park are especially high and sturdy, many of the higher parts at the bottom of the aisles have been replaced with glass in recent years.
  7. The outcome was never in doubt... Nice to have a winning streak again, I assume they will be wearing the retro jerseys again tomorrow.
  8. Frozen rope. Nice job by the bottom of the order getting on for Rickie.
  9. Melvin scouting our minor leagues, figuring out which prospects he wants to deal later this month?
  10. Prince can't play defense, but if he keeps hitting nobody is going to notice.
  11. The brat is 2 for 2 since Bill Schroeder gave him a pep talk.
  12. I can't believe they have only worn white 5 times. So much for the home blue being the "alternate".
  13. We all knew McGehee was going to get the start today after the big hit yesterday. He needs an opportunity to build on that.
  14. Mark Kotsay is protecting Prince tonight and Lucroy has been demoted to the #8 spot for some unknown reason. Perhaps it's Kotsay's career 1.000 OPS against Bailey? (1 for 3 with a double)
  15. The ballpark was designed so that A/C could be added at a future date. They do blow air through the vents when the roof is closed, but it doesn't do anything since it was never designed to blow directly on the fans. The reason that the A/C issue has not been addressed is because there were always other more serious problems that needed to be fixed. I imagine that it will be added in the next 5 years or so. I guess I really do not know anything about the Brewers' long-term plan for Miller Park. Will there still be money available from the stadium district for repairs after the tax expires? What is the expected lifespan of the stadium, 2050? 2075?
  16. Did not see that coming at all, not even in the back of my mind. Hawkins up in the bullpen!!!!!
  17. I think RRR just got out-managed by Gibson. Must have thought that Gibson was going to stick with his "7th inning guy".
  18. Very nice combined play by Kotsay and Gamel. Kotsay with an off-balance throw to Gamel, who was actually on the infield side of the 3B line. Gamel dove back to his left to make the tag.
  19. The Brewers haven't really hit anything hard today, just a few line drives. A few weaker liners/bloopers were caught and lots of lazy fly balls to the outfield. Collmenter is pitching well though and deserves credit.
  20. Not sure if this is true for the free version, but I have MLB.tv premium and I can switch the audio to Uecker. Terrible AB by Rickie, pops up on the first pitch.
  21. That's easy, 7 innings. Loe gets the 8th. On a serious note, probably 7 especially since he had to throw a few pitches this inning.
  22. Gamel's playing and he just made a nice grab and spinning throw. I doubt McGehee makes that play.
