  1. I have to give Roenicke credit where it is due, he is great at managing position players on the bench. There is still hope here, just need to get a sac fly.
  2. Roenicke just refuses to manage his bullpen based on the situation. He doesn't understand the benefit of using 3 relievers in an inning to get the right matchup. He almost never makes a mid-inning pitching change. He should have brought in either K-Rod or Axford and used the other in the 9th.
  3. That wasn't Loe's fault. It was the manager putting Loe in a position to fail. I'm usually slow to criticize RR but that was just idiotic. Even Ned Yost saw that coming.
  4. Not surprising. Loe is great when used effectively, but Roenicke continues to prove that he can't manage the bullpen.
  5. I really, really hope RR is not going to leave Loe in to face Helton.
  6. I changed my mind, he was out. But it was really close and I'm not even sure that a replay would have overturned it.
  7. Wow this feels great. I had some thoughts about giving up on this game, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Looked like a good call at home.
  8. The Rockies have the fundamentals, but we have the Plushdamentals!!!!
  9. This situation is just so important that it wasn't worth risking a bad bunt. The bullpen is well rested and K-Rod is due to get his first appearance tonight. These are some huge at-bats coming up here. The Brewers really need to win this game.
  10. I'm still ok with Braun playing at 80%. But it will be frustrating if he has to go the DL. Big chance for a rally here, can't miss this opportunity.
  11. Braun pulled from the game, I wonder if he's headed to the DL this time?
  12. Weeks really crushed that one the other way, about 2 feet from tying the game. Tulo made that play look so, so easy. It's just unfair.
  13. ...because the players love him too much. Dumping a rookie manager after one season isn't exactly a good way to get well-qualified candidates to apply to your open position. I will also add that I would like to see Melvin get an extension. There simply are not very many good GMs out there and I do not want to risk getting a bad GM that ruins the franchise for a decade or longer. Only a select few have produced consistent results with a small market like we have seen from Melvin.
  14. No matter how poorly the team performs, RR isn't getting fired this year and probably not next year either.
  15. I guess this is why they put Rickie in the 5-spot. Big RBI chance here.
  16. Losing 2 games in a row isn't exactly unraveling. They could still split the series. I agree that it looks really ugly right now, but there's still time for Melvin to get some help and an easier schedule ahead.
  17. Greinke really seems to get rattled by bad defense. Edit: another run given up by the slow left side of the infield.
  18. I had no idea Hart had an .800 OPS this year. He sure has been under the radar though.
  19. 9-8-7-3-4-5-6-2-1 I like this move. It probably isn't best for the long term, but with the majority of the lineup in a slump, it is nice to see our 3 best hitters in the 3-4-5. Maybe batting leadoff will awaken Corey Hart, he has been getting a bit of a free pass this year with McGehee and Betancourt getting more attention. Just watched a few highlight clips from late May to get back into the spirit of things, ready for a win tonight :-)
  20. Even if the Brewers go 0-11 on this trip they should not sell. Somebody in the NL Central has to make the playoffs. The Brewers have an easy schedule after this trip and plenty of head to head games against the Pirates and Cardinals. Lets not get carried away because they lost 2 games in a row.
  21. So, you're saying that when the Mets called Melvin and offered him K-Rod, Melvin should have said: "Sorry, call me back in few weeks, I have to build up the left side of infield first."
  22. I agree that he's a little slow running, but his swing looks fine. The calf didn't make him swing at that pitch a foot off the plate. Braun at 80% is fine, we need him.
