  1. Incredible Game 7 tonight! Great to see the Sharks moving on to what should be an excellent series with Vancouver. Both teams have come up short in the playoffs recently but they are arguably the two best teams in the NHL this year. The Lightning-Bruins should be a great series as well with both teams well rested going into the series.
  2. The sad part is that if the defense didn't play well today, it could easily have been 27-30 hits. They were all line drives.
  3. Uecker: "Gotta pick up a quick 8 runs here." "A couple guys on, you pop two grand slammers, and you win it. No big deal."
  4. One other problem I see is that the Padres have clearly figured out that the Brewers like to throw 1st pitch strikes and are swinging away freely. They have been since the 1st inning. Where is the adjustment by the coaching staff and Nieves? 22 hits and we keep throwing them strikes.
  5. Another game thrown away in the late innings. This is becoming a trend. Unacceptable.
  6. Axford's already pitched 2 days in a row including lots of unnecessary pitches last night after the game should have been over.
  7. Not a good time to have Loe come in. Isn't there someone else out there that can pitch the 8th?
  8. Big opportunity for Braun here. Would love to see a slam :-)
  9. You disagree with the "logic" but you fail to offer a counter statement for why strikeouts matter more or less in the #3 spot compared to the #1 spot. If you are going to knowingly make comments that are going to generate disagreement, then it is important that you provide some sort of basis or argument for your side of the debate. I think most people on this site would not care if Rickie Weeks struck out 250 times as log as he had an .830 OPS with 83 RBI. The purpose of a leadoff hitter is to get on base and score runs. Weeks does that. So as long as he keeps his OPS up, who cares how he makes his outs. It's fine to have a debate, but one-liners are better suited for other online message boards.
  10. The Happy Youngster got #200. Hopefully he gives it back for nothing.
  11. Who cares? He's always up with the bases empty.
  12. Lots of hard hit balls by the Brewers again in this game. Only a 3-run game now.
  13. Kotsay with the big F-bomb. And the OPS keeps dropping...
  14. If we can hold it at 5-0 there is still plenty of time to come back.
  15. That one almost went over Kotsay's head. That would not have been good for RRR's Internet approval rating today.
  16. Someone needs to tell Casey McGehee that he is not fast.
  17. Kotsay hit an absolute bomb of a flyball in the 8th inning last night. Maybe it just died because it was late and it was a bit chilly, but I just do not think he has the ability to hit anything but singles and an occasional double. They always seem to win with the "give up" lineups and we need Lucroy's legs to stay fresh.
  18. The bad defense continues to cause problems. This game should have been over easily and at the very least, Axford is now unavailable tomorrow.
  19. Poor Kotsay, he got all of that one and it wasn't even close to going out.
  20. 5 straight hits and we do THAT????? No wonder this team can't put together big innings.
  21. Only 61 degrees at the airport. Seems too cold for the roof to be open. 91 in Janesville though.
