  1. Rickie Weeks should try to bunt his way on. Let's make something happen now.
  2. Our outfielders need to wake up out there. Their laziness is killing us tonight.
  3. ouch, I thought that was a routine popup.
  4. I wish they would stop showing closeups of the pitcher winding up. They can't seem to switch to the batter fast enough in time to see him swing.
  5. The Brewers need to shorten up their swings and think opposite field.
  6. I wish players would just come out and say "I left for the money". It's stupid how they all leave for more money but then try to turn around and blame someone else.
  7. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b273/AJAY_02/Broom.gif SWEEP !!!!
  8. If they really find it necessary to go with Field Turf, I just hope that they find something that looks and feels as close to real grass as possible. I also hope they have a full dirt infield instead of just dirt near the bases.
  9. I support the idea of the word 'Milwaukee' printed on the road jerseys. I also support the idea of having more ball-and-glove logo merchandise available in the modern Brewers colors.
  10. What stood out for me was how crowded the concourses and bathroom lines were. Especially now that they added the new team store and that kids play area. There isn't as much space as before. I personally think they sold too many standing room tickets. As far as the game goes, I loved some of the opposite field basehits. It was nice to see that.
  11. I had a blast at the game. The offense was exciting. The drunks were entertaining. What more can you ask for on Opening Day? http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b273/AJAY_02/NoMercy.jpg
  12. I grew up in the 1980's when nobody cared about the Packers and it was all Brewers and Bucks. So yes, it is possible. Except for the few hours I was at the game today, I have also been listening to the radio and TV since early this morning and I really don't think the Farve story got a whole lot of coverage. WSSP and WTMJ have been talking about opening day stuff all day. So I don't really agree with the premise of this thread. And I can't fault the media for covering other news stories too.
  13. Just saw the game on DVR. To me, the thing that stuck out was that great defensive play by Billy Hall. I don't think Braun makes that play and the Cubs are probably looking at maybe scoring a few runs. Nice win !!
  14. Gwynn had an a great game at the plate and in the field. 2 hits, a nice bunt, a great catch, and a clutch sac fly. I know the hits weren't pretty but he made contact and used his speed to get on base. I have always believed that you need a few small guys in the lineup who do the fundamental things right. Gwynn seems like one of those guys.
  15. I'm too drained to celebrate. It still feels like we lost.
  16. My boss already knows that I am a Brewers addict. I scheduled Monday afternoon off well in advance. I am taking off Friday too.
  17. I don't think the paying customers and the broadcast affilitates would be happy about channging game times without more advanced notice. Usually game times are changed only to accomodate ESPN or FOX, and those are usually done weeks or months in advance.
  18. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b273/AJAY_02/PlayBall08.jpg
  19. My preference would be for the Brewers to remain with WTMJ because I like the strong signal and I also like the idea of the Brewers having a relationship with the company that runs the local newspaper. I think that's important in terms of publicity and cross-promotion. But I also agree that competition is good and hopefully the Brewers can make more money now.
  20. I am taking Monday afternoon off because it does feel like a religious holiday. I just hope the game is not rained out.
  21. CARLOS VILLANUEVA !!!!!!! YES !!!!!!!!! (I am so relieved all this stupid talk of sending him down is finally over)
  22. This is 2008 and we live in a global world. The world is changing FAST and I give credit to MLB for understanding that international growth is crucial. I completely agree with having meaningful games played in foreign countries in order to promote the sport.
  23. Good news for Brewers fans in Madison . . . http://www.madison.com/tct/business/278512 ----------- Existing discussion: Charter to add FSN WI HD this summer for HD Brewer Games
  24. I absolutely LOVE this move. Vargas has always had a high ERA and doesn't go deep into games enough. He is slow on the mound and is prone to long innings. He nibbles a lot and gets into high pitch counts. This doesn't exactly help keep our defense sharp. I like that we save money too. And I love that it guarantees Villanueva a spot because he deserves one. If someone had to be released, I think Vargas is the best choice. There is a reason he has bounced around so much the last few years. I was actually surprised he wasn't released after last year.
