    Interesting analysis from Rotoworld . . . Scott Eyre gave up two runs in two-thirds of an inning Monday to blow the Cubs' two-run lead against the Brewers. Eyre is so awful right now that Brewers manager Ned Yost refused to pinch-hit for left-handed hitters Gabe Gross and Craig Counsell just because he knew that Eyre would be replaced if he did.

    I hope you recorded that game because you were on TV pretty much the whole night. Congratulations. By the way, I loved your reaction when Gabe Gross caught the ball hit by Soriano. That was cool.

    I just hope Ron Santo wasn't listening on the radio tonight. His doctors couldn't have been too happy about this. Jokes aside, I really do wish him well.

    I was just about to post the same thing. I also think Yost was better prepared for extra innings tonight because he did not pinch hit for Gross and Mench. Everything worked out great tonight. (Ned is getting a lot of kudos on am 1250 WSSP right now)

    I think most managers save guys with power for situations when runners are on base.

    Okay . . . I am going to guess why Yost did not pinch hit. 1) You need a pinch hitter for the pitcher coming up. 2) You will need a pinch hitter later in the game for the next reliever who has to bat. . . or you will need someone to go in after a double switch. Miller, Hart, Mench, Graffanino are left. Miller can't pinch hit because you need a backup catcher. Perhaps Ned was more concerned about being short-handed later?
