  1. I don't have an update, but I also missed the incident. This grainy video was linked on the Brewers subreddit: Segura is getting beat up this season so far.
  2. It's sort of the reverse of when BA started with the Brewers where he would start out really excited and then slowly pull back his enthusiasm like a deflating balloon as a the ball was caught.
  3. Give some credit to the throw on that Weeks homeplate play. I think most of the time Weeks is safe regardless of slide. Khris Davis! I can't believe how good this team is playing right now. I hope it lasts all season.
  4. I like your plan. I'd be really happy with 2 out of 3, and this is the best pitching matchup in favor of the Brewers. Tomorrow we have Travis Wood vs. Estrada, and on Sunday it's Jason Hammel vs. Peralta.
  5. Former Cub vs former Brewer. Villanueva has been pretty terrible in his last 2 starts, so it might be a good opportunity for Garza to get his first win.
  6. Thanks for the tip. Hearing Uecker in the background was great. Here is a link for the lazy http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v32254095/must-c-combo-braun-and-davis-crack-two-big-homers
  7. Nobody is buying that explanation from Gomez. His whole defense of himself is pretty ridiculous. He makes it sound like because it's OK because it's what he's always done. I love Carlos, but once again I'm embarrassed for him. Words are one thing, but getting physical is something else. We need him right now and it's sad that he's going to likely miss a few games. I'm going to guess 3 games for Carlos and 5 games for Maldy.
  8. Nice inning from Wooten. Let's see if the top of the order can make something happen.
  9. I'm sitting at work frustrated listening to Uecker in the background. Work just got a little bit better!!!!!
  10. Davidson's strike zone was hurt the Cardinals as much as the Brewers. Lynn just went after the Brewers with his fastball and it worked.
  11. So much for the Lynn vs. Reynolds matchup going the Brewers way.
  12. Whelp, that sucks. Still 4 more innings to go. I'll try and stay optimistic.
  13. Ballsy play Overbay. Defense is showing up in this inning.
  14. I know Matt Holliday is slow, but I did not think they were going to get him at the plate there.
  15. That's not too bold of a prediction considering the Chorizo has 6:1 odds of getting tossed.
  16. Bob Davidson was also the umpire who ejected a fan in Milwaukee for heckling Yadier Monlina. LINK
  17. Against the Cardinals you just have to throw all logic out the window and assume it's going to be a battle.
  18. I agree with you. I think it's a matchup thing. Lynn is better vs righties compared to lefties. And in extremely small samples Overbay and Schafer have performed better vs Lynn.
  19. This will be the biggest challenge for the Brewers so far. Let's keep the streak alive.
  20. Dave Cameron's article on the new "clean transfer rule" "This year, in an attempt to clarify the difference between a catch and a transfer on plays around the base base bag, MLB informed teams that a clean transfer from glove to hand was now going to be a required element in making a legal catch. No longer could a player argue that the ball was dropped on the exchange between glove and hand in order to retire the lead runner in a double play attempt. To be credited with the first out, the player has to move the ball from his glove to his hand without losing possession of the ball." I was totally oblivious to this rule change until reading this article. It's shocking to me how easy it would be to exploit this new rule on the defensive side of things. I would love to see a team take advantage of this rule change and make a mockery it. It's a dumb rule and needs to be done away with ASAP.
  21. It's nice to hear that Lohse is bringing some of the Dave Duncan philosophy the Brewers way. Maybe the front office will give him an interview someday after he retires for a coaching position.
  22. Agreed. Kudos to the replay team and Ron. Who knows where the game would have gone from there if the play stood. We know now that they haven't given up on challenging.
