  1. It only took 58 seconds to reverse the call, which is almost definitely shorter than the amount of time Fredi Gonzalez would have been arguing.
  2. Even though it didn't work in the Brewers favor, it is SO refreshing to see a replay system in use. I love it.
  3. Maybe this is common knowledge, but they still update the ROM every year. Here is a copy of Tecmo Super Bowl 2014 I made for myself.
  4. I haven't seen the footage yet, but I was listening to the Braves broadcast and I'm really surprised at Jim Powell and Don Sutton's reaction. They both seemed to say that this was a roid rage. Sutton more than Powell, but it still seemed way out of line. I think Powell knew it too, because when they came back from the inning break he said "I need a thicker filter from my brain to my mouth sometimes". They both seemed to think that no Braves should have been ejected and the only reason Freeman was ejected is because the umps HAD to eject a Brave player to even things out. They both really made it seem like Gomez is a psychopath. I wish my internet was faster so I could watch.

  6. What is going to be doing with the laptop? Photo/video editing, heavy gaming, programming, design, etc? What size screen is she looking for? Battery life?
  7. I don't mind so much that he used PEDs. If you read the original thread, I had my suspicions that he was guilty all along. What gets to me is all of the lying. Can't he just come clean when he knows he's guilty? That method has proven in the past to be the best route to get back in the public's good graces. Instead he continually hurt people's reputation who were doing nothing but telling the truth. It makes me sick to my stomach. I'm going to need some time until I forgive Braun.
  8. If the MLB really wants to get serious about testing they should ban first time cheaters for life. Additionally they should test more often with blood samples and store the samples permanently. If a suspicion arises in the distant future about a player they can pull an old sample and use new technologies to test the sample. If it tests positive, banned for life from the game and all stats wipe from the record books. This would be expensive and have a lot of backlash, but it would reduce the amount used.
  9. My only problem with this whole thing is if they skip over the 50-game ban right to the "100-game one more strike you're out" ban. This is also my biggest complaint. Can MLB really potentially suspend A-Rod and Braun 100 games for lying about taking PEDs? It seems like being sentenced twice for the same crime. I'm sure there are other examples of players who tested positive for PEDs after publicly stating that they didn't take them.
  10. It was a good episode. The amount of Michael Scott was just right, especially with the "That's what she said" line. The call back to Devin was also great. It's going to be fun to watch these episodes in syndication for years to come, especially the early ones.
  11. I read an interview with Greg Daniels, and although he doesn't outright say it, it sounds like Michael Scott will be in the final episode. If he weren't included in the final episode, I'm sure he would just come out and admit it, instead of beating around the bush. Michael Scott only moved to Denver, he wasn't killed off.
  12. You don't have to do anything to accommodate their request, but you might consider making an adjustment that's within reason, like moving to the other side of the porch or house while smoking, setting up a fan, or whatever. Even something small might tell your neighbor that you can comprimise.
  13. If you're looking at his WAR, he had a WAR of 0.1 last April, so you're completely correct. I know people like to hate on Rickie Weeks because of his (lack of) performance last year, but if you look around the league it's hard to find many second baseman who get on base and hit for power like he does. He's a top 10 second baseman every year in my eyes. And the Gallardo contract is also a good one.
  14. Thanks for the response torts, however certain language is restricted on brewerfan. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=4208#language_not_allowed
  15. Bummer. I thought from the thread title that this was going to be a collection of GIFs of in game highlights.....not that I don't like cats.
  16. I meant out of the names connected to Biogenesis. I thought that was obvious. And like the Times article says, there is no hard evidence that A-Rod tried to buy documents.
  17. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/12/sports/baseball/documents-at-anti-aging-clinic-up-for-sale-in-doping-case.html?_r=0 That is the original New York Times article. They raise a good point about MLB possibly shooting themselves in the foot by purchasing these documents. Did anyone else think of Ryan Braun right away when they suggested players were trying to purchase the documents? In my mind, he would have the most to lose if the information is leaked, at least of the names currently tied to the documents.
  18. Quentin gets HBP more than Rickie Weeks. It looks to me like he didn't make much of an effort to get out of the way of this one either. Maybe I'm a Greinke homer since he pitched for the Brewers, but that's a total bush league move. He's got at least 50 lbs. on Greinke and he rams him in the shoulder. I'd like to see Quentin suspended for a few games. At least it's his left collarbone, so maybe recovery will be quicker.
  19. I wish they would make the change one way or the other. Having one league with a DH and one without gives a slight advantage to AL teams in inter-league and World Series games. I personally love seeing the pitcher hit. It's exciting watching Gallardo take Randy Johnson deep, or even seeing Ben Sheets get an RBI. The managerial moves are also more fun to discuss without the DH.
  20. A manager can't prevent sprained left knees, but he can make 11th inning pitching changes to limit 2 run HRs.
  21. I agree, you have to put him in some lower leverage situations for now. It's not like he's gotten unlucky with a couple of groundballs sneaking through the infield. His fastball is inconsistent with velocity and control. He missed one of his pitches so badly that it flew to the backstop over the umpire's head. He has given up 6 earned runs, including 4 HRs while recording only 8 outs. If we played in a slightly smaller ballpark he would have given up even more HRs. It's just not working right now and if he comes into a 1 run game in the 9th, it's not going to take much for RR/Axford to get booed.
  22. Maldanado is the 1st baseman, Axford pitches 2 clutch innings, Lohse is our best hitter off the bench in a clutch situation. What is going on here?
  23. Axford needs to work some things out in some non-consequential situations.
