  1. A wild pitch or passed ball scores a runner from 3rd as well. RR has made the squeeze play work in his favor a few times, which would have been an option with Aoki's speed at 3rd. I'm normally against the sacrifice bunt, but when you are playing for 1 run late in the game and you have speed on the base path, small ball seems like a good option. No guarantees that a single scores a runner from 2nd anyway, you saw how close it was.
  2. I disagree. Down 1 run in the bottom of the ninth, I think you need to bunt the runner over to third and then sacrifice the runner in.
  3. BA's words say he hopes the Brewers can rally, but his inflection says that there is no way this will happen.
  4. I went back a couple April 6ths to compare previous years starting lineups. Here is the lineup from April 6th 2004 Podsednik CF Counsell SS Spivey 2B Jenkins LF Overbay 1B Helms 3B Grieve RF Moeller C Sharpie P April 6th 2003 A Sanchez CF Young 2B Ginter LF Sexson 1B Hammonds RF Helms 3B Eddie Perez C R Clayton SS Wayne Franklin P So it could be worse.
  5. That is the worst lineup the Brewers have put up in a long, long time. It's going to make it even funnier when the Brewers win.
  6. I loved the first Bioshock and then skipped the second one. I will say that playing the first two does not limit the story in this Bioshock game, although there are nods to the original and very specifically at the end. Also, I think you made the right choice playing on the computer. I've seen the graphics on both platforms and the computer brings a lot more of the game to life. I guess I am playing it again and it's much better this time around. I have it on "Hard" now instead of "Normal" and it changes the style of play from run and gun to a more cover based combat. This style of combat is more rewarding in my opinion. I normally wouldn't play a game twice if the ending is the same, but the way the story is set up in Bioshock Infinite, it's almost required to playthrough again if you want to really understand everything. The first time through you really have no idea what any of the characters' roles are until at least the third act (and the big reveal at the end). During the first playthrough, something significant to the plot would occur, but it's not really revealed WHY until the very end. Now that I know what is going on, I can approach the story with a greater connection.
  7. Has anyone else beaten Bioshock Infinite yet? The gameplay is pretty enjoyable, especially the final battle, but the story is extremely complicated, weaving in and out of itself through time and space. Even after reading online to try and understand the parts of the story that I missed, I am still confused about some aspects. I'm debating playing it again.
  8. I've been using MLB.tv for about 10 years now. I've always purchased the regular package. This year I decided to buy the premium for $125 and it's great. Playing the games through my Xbox gives me a MUCH better picture than hooking up my laptop to the TV via HDMI. Not to mention the menu and replay system on Xbox is great. Being able to watch games on my phone is nice too, although I'm not sure how often I'm going to use that feature. One thing that I don't really like is the minute plus delay that comes with Xbox streaming. It prevents me from following the IGT too closely or watching live scoring with my fantasy team.
  9. I agree, on the replay from the outfield, it looked like Gonzalez might have been safe. Man this has been a long game.
  10. I have no problems with Amy for the same reasons others have stated. I think she is good for the fanbase. The gentleman who dresses as Amy was really funny the first couple of times he did it, but now the joke has played itself out. I don't find him annoying or distracting, but for his own sake I hope he realizes that it just isn't quite as funny anymore. He is like a Weird Al song that you don't want to play too much to keep yourself from hating the original.
  11. Yu Darvish is about to start the 8th inning for those with picture in picture. Well, this inning is going downhill fast....
  12. It's so nice to start the season off with a win. It's only one game, but I always feel like opening day carries a lot of emotional momentum.
  13. According to Vegas (and translated by fangraphs), the Brewers have a 57.4% chance of winning today.
  14. What sort of player would come forward for immunity anyway? We all know that MLB can't keep anything private. If someone comes forward, and that info is leaked, that player is going to look like a snitch and also look guilty for seeking immunity. This is not going to work. This whole thing is just sour grapes by MLB after Braunie beat the system.
  15. I agree, this deal blows and I'm actually surprised by the amount of love for this deal. We are talking about a platoon player with a .294 career OBP making $9 million in as a 30 year old. Is his body going to hold up with his aggressive style of play? Don't get me wrong, I love having him on the team and love his excitement level, but last years 19 HRs seems like a fluke compared to his career numbers. This is the same Carlos Gomez that everybody hated just a few years ago. Well played Boras.
