  1. I listened to all three Arizona games in the FSN Arizona feed, and bringing back Daron Sutton would be a mistake. Yes, he is enthusiastic, but he and Gracie say some really ridiculous things like that Adam LaRoche is a great defender and Corey Hart is an underrated contact hitter. There are two things I don't like about BA. 1) His obsession with telling everyone that there is a no hitter going in the 4th inning or any inning just to seemingly rub it in the face of people who believe that it is baseball tradition to not say the words "no hitter" during a no hitter. 2) He appears to have Joe Buck syndrome, where he doesn't possess a genuine hardcore interest in the game of baseball. Something tells me that if he got paid around the same amount of money he would go back to golf in a heartbeat. (This is just my perception, I could be wrong) While Bill isn't the smartest guy out there, I believe that he is a genuine fan of the Brewers and the game. That said, I'd like to keep BA around.
  2. Sheets struck out 8 and only gave up 4 hits over 6.1 innings today against the hot hitting Rays. I didn't watch the game, but looking at gameday, it looked like Sheets was getting a lot of swings and misses at curveballs.
  3. I wonder if that was the same guy that Mark Grace was calling a wooly booger on the Arizona feed. Mark Grace is such a good partner for Daron Sutton.
  4. Used mountain bikes usually don't hold much value. Fortunately for you Trek makes a good frame. I would price it based on components. Without seeing it I would bet it is spec'd with Alivo or STX derailleurs or some other low end Shimano components and it's probably without a shock, correct? I would put it up on craigslist and ask maybe $200 OBO. I don't think the 850 has horizontal rear dropouts, but you could still advertise it as a good fixie conversion bike for the hipster crowd. Why are you selling it, is there something wrong with it?
  5. I don't think Coffey was available tonight, but between Villy, Hawkins, Parra and Hoffman, it's hard to pick against Villy.
  6. LaTroy Hawkins is signed to a two year $7.5 million contract. And somewhere David Riske laughs and somewhere else Zach Braddock cries.
  7. It was a nice comeback for the Brewers, but LaTroy Hawkins has not been what I expected.
  8. I was wondering who Xavier Paul was? Well, we need a strikeout or a miracle.
  9. I don't care what anyone says about being clutch. Craig Counsell is clutch.
  10. "Fox Tracks" showed that pitch to Edmonds off the plate inside. Edmonds on base would have beeen helpful.
  11. The man-purse commercial? I hate it because that man-purse joke has been overdone from Seinfeld to Family Guy. And yeah, leave me to drink my crappy beer.
  12. Hey we can still win this thing. 3 innings left, down 3 runs. It's doable.
  13. And there is a thread about why the Brewers defense is ranked so poorly? You can see it in just about every game they play.
  14. Hey now, CC just genuinely loves Subway sandwiches.
  15. Actually his fastball has been faster the past two years than in his down years of 2007 and 2008. Link He's on par with his contract year.
  16. My quote was referring to Major League II where the manager says, "Ok, guys. We've won two games in a row. If we win tonight, its called a winning streak. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. " Maybe that's the one you were thinking of?
  17. Now that there is a thread about how great Zito is this year, he will inevitably blow up in his next start. I remember reading that he is more focused this year compared to the years right after he signed his contract in which he partied consistently and didn't concentrate on his starts. Not to mention his fastball is slightly faster. I would like to think that he can't keep it up since I traded him in my fantasy league. As for a Cy Young favorite, I think you have to go with the guy that won it the past two years.
