  1. Gomez is frustrating. Sometimes his bunts are amazing and sometimes it looks like he's never bunted in his life.
  2. Escobar hits more groundballs than Gomez. Edmonds/Hart or just going with Braun 2nd is probably better.
  3. Ted Lilly does not look that great. I don't understand how we're not hitting him.
  4. If you don't care about winning, then stick Gomez in the leadoff spot, but just because he's there doesn't mean he will draw more walks. Just like batting Escobar cleanup isn't going to see him hitting more homeruns. If you want to teach patience to Gomez you might hit him in front of the pitcher where he'll see more balls.
  5. Wow, they are going to authenticate 3 sets of bases for this Strausburg debut. I can see that he is good, but he certainly is riding a ton of hype.
  6. Thank God for Yo! I can actually hope to enjoy a game tonight. Go Brewers!!
  7. Obviously it was time, but Suppan is a class act and I wish him the best. I hate to see any player that puts in 100% effort get booed, no matter how terrible the results. I still remember the complete game he threw against his former team early in 2007. I really thought we made a good decision at that point. Remember that? See ya, Soup.
  8. That's funny. You just made my night. Maybe you should take the plunge and prepare for 2012 with firedonmoney.com
  9. Win - Braddock Save - Axford During ST, I didn't think I'd see that by early June.
  10. She was on the phone as the ball was coming towards them and then she remained on the phone after her kid got drilled with the ball. It must be important.
  11. Credit to Bush on the strikeout. Had he given up a basehit he might have inadvertently helped his cause to get back into the rotation.
  12. Jon Miller makes a good point that Bush isn't used to entering a game with so little time to stretch out.
  13. After those first two walks, Macha should've been looking to the bullpen to face Rasmus, especially since he already has the HR against Parra. Bush makes me nervous being down 1 run as a flyball pitcher.
  14. Don't you mean Brewers = Loss? I would love to see Parra get into the sixth inning today.
  15. Maybe Parra can set up a fight with someone he can beat thereby boosting his confidence and reversing the numbers.
  16. Remember when we complained about not getting enough nationally televised games? Now I feel embarrassed that we're on ESPN tomorrow.
  17. Suddenly my post was in the wrong thread, anyway... They can't overturn it unless it comes with a complete change of rules that allows for a teams in the future to have the right to request a review. Baseball can't make a one time exception to the rules, because Selig would be admitting that this call is more important than other blown calls and in reality there are much more important blown calls that have to do with records and pennant chases. Do those get overturned now too? The best solution is to implement structured replay system for the future.
  18. My first reaction was complete shock, but you have to think that with all this umpire controversy and all of these blown calls that MLB has to be seriously considering using more instant replay. I hope for baseballs sake that they do. So disappointing.
  19. You have to look at overall OBP when assessing where a player should hit, specifically the leadoff hitter who you want getting on base. Just because Escobar has a high OBP in a small sample of games where he lead off, doesn't mean that if you stick him in the leadoff spot his OBP will go up. OBP is a function of the player skill which determines where the manager puts him in the lineup, not vice versa. A player might see a statistical affect based on protection or hitting in front of a pitcher, but the effect is very minimal.
  20. Wow, I missed the game where he used this lineup. I like it. Why would he use it once and then switch it up again? I want answers Macha!
