  1. And hello Carlos Gomez.
  2. Huntsville is not going to the playoffs and they're not even really in a playoff race, so he won't be pitching beyond the first week of September.
  3. I want to watch a pitcher who might actually have a future with the Brewers like Rivas or Rogers.. No more watching guys like Tim Dillard please.
  4. Other than guys like Gamel, Lawrie, Gennett, and the Davises, the pitching is what has me the most excited about our minor league system right now. Rivas, Rogers, Scarpetta, Peralta, Odorizzi, Heckathorn, etc. have all had excellent seasons and all but Odorizzi will begin next season at AA or higher.
  5. I hope they move to Oklahoma City. That's a beautiful stadium they've got there.
  6. Gamel is just having all kinds of fun right now. Three more hits tonight including a grand slam and 5 rbi's.
  7. Not a good outing today for Odorizzi. The strikeouts have definitely been down his last three starts. I wonder if he's just getting tired. He's already thrown more than double the number of innings than he did last year.
  8. Yep, and his strikeouts have been up lately too. I'm still hoping he gets a couple of starts in September.
  9. Couldn't agree more filthyfrog. I have a gut feeling we'll see Gamel in RF, Hart at 1b, and Casey at third when Prince is traded this offseason.
  10. Two trials in Milwaukee? I can only remember one.
  11. Unfortunately, there's just absolutely no room for him. All the positions are covered and they are not going to sit McGehee. And there's no point in bringing him up and having him ride the bench. He's pretty much screwed until spring training or this offseason if Prince or somebody else gets traded.
  12. August 16th I believe.
  13. Maybe I'm alone here, but it's sad to see Gamel still in the minors. I can't help but think if he doesn't get an opportunity in Milwaukee at some point next year, then maybe it's time to trade him to an organization that will give him a legit chance in the big leagues. I guess it all hinges on whether Prince is traded in the offseason. If not, Gamel will spend another worthless year in the minors.
  14. You know things are going good when you can look forward to following multiple pitchers almost every night!
  15. According to the Reds message board, it's for OF Chris Dickerson.
  16. I would like to see: 1. Prince to really catch fire and finish the season with a bang in order to raise his trade value even more. 2. Our trio of rookies (Cain, Lucroy, Escobar) to finish the season strong. 3. Call up Amaury Rivas and give him a couple of starts. 4. Mess up a playoff run for a contender (Cardinals!).
  17. Don't want to hurt Jim Edmonds' feelings.
  18. And why the hell is Kottaras so awful at throwing out runners? Ugh.
  19. Mat Gamel continues to swing a hot bat. Two more hits so far tonight including his 9th homerun. Edit: He's also playing in RF tonight. His first time playing out there since Hart signed the extension. It makes me wonder if there is still a remote possibility that Corey moves to 1b and Gamel to RF.
  20. Cain is not in the starting line-up tonight. Could he be on his way to Milwaukee with Gomez possibly going to the DL? I don't think he's just getting the night off because he just got a night off a couple games ago.
  21. Cain, Gamel, and Villanueva for sure. I'd be thrilled if they called up Rivas and gave him a couple of starts. Jeffress and Butler seem like a good possibility as well. I seem to remember last season them not calling many guys up because "they weren't going to be playing much anyway" (can't remember who said it). That seems rather silly though when you're not in contention because it's the best time to get a look at your youngsters.
  22. I don't see any reason why Scarpetta shouldn't be moved up to Huntsville to close out the season. I agree that he should be a lock to get the promotion.
  23. I'm wondering if the plan is to just let him finish in Wisconsin and have him start next season in Huntsville.
