  1. Hopefully Kentrail doesn't go back to BC and just starts next year in Huntsville. Looking forward to another Scarpetta start tonight.
  2. This is Ken Macha we're talking about. Edmonds will start.
  3. Thanks for the hard work in putting this together. Just wondering why there is such a significant gap between Peralta and Scarpetta though?
  4. The Braves could really use a guy like Corey Hart right now. Their offense is definitely not that great. Whether their willing to give up young pitching to get him is the key obviously.
  5. Odorizzi is facing a pretty good Great Lakes team. Should be a good game.
  6. Macha's been pretty good about playing Lucroy consistently (which surprises me), but I have a feeling Cain is going to be riding the bench until he gets sent back down.
  7. Cain not starting tonight of course. BREWERS 2B Rickie Weeks RF Corey Hart LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee C George Kottaras CF Carlos Gomez SS Alcides Escobar LHP Randy Wolf BRAVES 2B Martin Prado RF Jason Heyward 3B Chipper Jones 1B Troy Glaus C Brian McCann LF Matt Diaz SS Alex Gonzalez CF Melky Cabrera RHP Tommy Hanson
  8. Rivas was just activated from the DL. Maybe he'll make a couple of starts while Davis is on the DL. Wishful thinking probably though.
  9. I think Bush could be paired with Hart or Fielder to acquire a really nice pitching prospect.
  10. Isn't Cain from Georgia? That'll be pretty cool for him making his big league debut in his home state. Good luck Lorenzo!
  11. If Odorizzi continues to dominate like he is and follows a similar path as Gallardo did in the minors, he'll be pitching in Milwaukee in 2012.
  12. Anybody have ESPN insider? Buster Olney wonders about a Fielder to Tampa trade. From mlbtr:
  13. Scarpetta pitched well again, but it seems like he came out of the game early. Hopefully they're just trying to limit his innings.
  14. Wow, you don't want much, do you? I think Hart for Davis straight up would be a pretty good trade. Davis is major league ready and young. He's Tampa's 3rd best prospect behind Jennings and Hellickson.
  15. Yeah, I thought that was funny too. It's like the Giants asking for Parra or Gallardo.
  16. Time to give up on trying to deal with the Giants. They're not willing to give up any of their pitchers and that's what the Brewers desperately need. Just not a good match.
  17. Yeah, surprising that the Brewers like Moore more than Davis. As mentioned, Moore has some absurd strikeout totals, but walks a lot of hitters.
  18. Just a little update from mlbtraderumors this morning:
  19. Definitely keep an eye on Jake Odorizzi. 96 strikeouts and 26 walks in a little over 78 IP this year. Only 20 years old too. He's our next Gallardo, IMO.
  20. If you're unhappy with some of the moves the Rangers' GM makes, you're gonna love the moves our GM makes when it comes to pitching. Anyway, if you're in to following the minor leagues, you must follow guys like Brett Lawrie, Lorenzo Cain, Jake Odorrizi, Cody Scarpetta, Scooter Gennett, Khris Davis, Amaury Rivas, etc. These guys are the future.
  21. What does everybody think of Wade Davis? I've been hearing his name a lot in these trade talks, but I don't know much about him. What does he project as? #2, #3 type starter? What pitches does he throw?
  22. Even though we've heard reports of Prince and Hart being available for trade, I just have this feeling that Melvin and Attanasio haven't given up on this season yet. These next few weeks are going to be interesting to say the least.
