  1. He's had terrible plate discipline in high-pressure situations lately. Trying to hit the homerun when all he needs is a single or sac fly and ends up striking out instead. He'll settle down though.
  2. Ways Bill Hall gets out tonight: A) Strike out swinging B) Strike out looking C) Foul out to catcher D) Foul out to 3rd base I'll go with B.
  3. I know we're still only a few games out, but I can't imagine Melvin being too "motivated" right now to make a trade.
  4. Anybody know who's pitching tomorrow night for Wisconsin? I'm thinking about making the drive from Eau Claire and I'm hoping to see Peralta pitch.
  5. Oh come on. We'll at least give you Bill Hall. Now it's fair.
  6. It would be rather ridiculous to trade Gamel AND Escobar AND Lawrie. If Toronto really expects that type of a package, then they can just stick it. A piece centered around one of those guys would be appropriate, not all three.
  7. It's time for Fiers to move up a level. He's 24 years old in rookie ball and has yet to give up run while striking out 12 in 8 innings.
  8. Who's fastball has more velocity? I'm guessing Peralta's does.
  9. CV has really been hit or miss this year. Started out poorly, then went through a stretch where he was dominant, and now you don't know what you're going to get from him.
  10. Just out of curiosity, if it came down to trading Gamel or Escobar for Halladay, who would you guys rather we keep? For me, I'd rather keep Escobar. Taylor Green and McGehee seem like pretty good options at 3rd base if Gamel were to be traded. If we trade Escobar and Hardy doesn't re-sign, who would take over at short?
  11. Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun lists the Brewers and Angels as the leaders to acquire Halladay: http://www.torontosun.com/sports/baseball/2009/07/09/10071966-sun.html
  12. I would circle around my block nude in broad daylight if that trade went down. I think Toronto is looking for a lot more.
  13. His walk totals are also relatively down. Since June 7th (6 outings and about 24 IP), he has 7 walks and 29 strikeouts. 77 SO/30 BB on the year.
  14. Wow, Scarpetta struck out half the batters he faced. Ended up with 9 in six innings.
  15. Green is 3 for 3 with a double and 2 rbi's and Scarpetta is pitching very well so far.
  16. Nope. He probably figured it would be a good time to take a bathroom break. Gamel needs to play more though. Mcchehehe at 2nd and Gamel at 3rd with Counsell the backup infielder.
  17. I don't understand this at all, but let's just hope for a couple of really quck innings for Yo the rest of the way.
  18. Yeah, my initial thought was Chris Cody (he's not on the 40-man roster).
  19. Yeah, I highly doubt Melvin was being completely truthful with TH. He isn't going to come right out and say that he is talking with Atlanta about Vazquez. There has to be some validity to the reports that they are talking. I also wonder if Melvin asked Atlanta about Vazquez and they asked for either Gamel or Escobar in return and the talks ended there.
  20. Inappropriate or justified? Not the whole article, but these are most of his quotes. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/49981567.html (edit: more explicative thread title --1992)
