After the Cards win tonight, we'll be 4 1/2 games back. I don't know, it's a tough call. If it takes a Gamel or Escobar to get Washburn, then absolutely not. Otherwise, maybe it would be worth looking into.
I have a feeling following Rogers and Anundsen in Huntsville next year will be a lot of fun. Great start for Rogers tonight. Maybe he'll go five innings?
Yeah, I saw that too. I'm surprised nobody around here has said anything about it (or maybe somebody did and I missed it). That was one of the most ridiculous homerun taunts I have ever seen. I hope he gets a good old fastball in the back tonight.
I'm assuming you are talking about Jason Bourgeois. I don't know much about him other than he's 27 yrs old and has bounced around the minors his entire career. He got his first big league experience last year with the White Sox. Doesn't walk much for a lead-off hitter, but doesn't strike out much either. Good stats this year in AAA but I have no idea how that would translate to the big leagues. He'll probably be a September call-up this year.
Exactly. You don't trade your future shortstop for two months of Washburn and an erratic reliever with arm problems. But yes for a guy like Halladay. Ugh, I'm starting to have flashbacks of the Inman for Linebrink fiasco.
Same here. I think outraged would be an understatement. I just don't understand how we wouldn't include Escobar in a trade for Halliday, but we would for Washburn. Like I said before, I have confidence in Melvin that he won't trade Escobar to Seattle.
This blogger seems to really want Escobar to be a Mariner, but I have complete faith in Melvin that he won't trade him for half-year rental in Washburn and a reliever with potential arm problems.
