  1. Looking at that picture helps ease the pain a little bit. Looper just stunk tonight.
  2. I know as soon as I type this I'm going to jinx him, but Bucci has struck out 5 of the first 6 batters he has faced so far.
  3. Might be a dumb question, but how long does the process of putting a player through waivers take? In other words, when a player is put through waivers, is there a set time for each team to make a decision on whether to claim that player or not? Or is it different with every player?
  4. Are we still in it? Well let's just say I'm looking forward to seeing our prospects like Escobar, Gamel, and Salome play some games in September. Even if we do get on a hot streak (which seems impossible at this time), St. Louis is going to be tough to catch anyway. They have an easy August and are just playing really well right now. We are 6.5 games back in the wildcard race. That would be our only shot, imo.
  5. Yeah, it sure would be a kick to the groin for Bourgeois if Patterson ever got called up before him yet this year (which I could see happening at some point).
  6. Let's say the Brewers are out of playoff contention at some point in September. Does Salome get a few starts?
  7. It's unusual to see Schafer with an 0-fer at the plate these days. Cain is 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's. Lucroy with a double and another caught stealing. Nashville really seems to be struggling at the moment. Edit: And right after I type this, Nashville scores 5 in the 3rd. Salome with a homerun.
  8. Would a Hardy for Bowden trade be fair for both teams? Bowden put up some pretty sick numbers last year in AA.
  9. I noticed that Peralta hasn't pitched in a week now and he only went 1 1/3 innings in that outing. Anybody know what's going on?
  10. Good point Rillo. He hasn't pitched enough innings to warrant a top 5 spot, which is why I left Rogers out of my top 10 even though he is pitching great right now. I'd probably move Peralta up a little bit and Braddock back a few spots.
  11. I believe Gamel is still eligible to be on the power 50. He only got 24 AB in July before he was sent back down and needed about 42 AB in the beginning of the month to graduate. Anyway, I'll take a shot at it. 1. Gamel 2. Escobar 3. Lawrie 4. Lucroy 5. Braddock 6. Salome 7. Peralta 8. Scarpetta 9. Arnett 10. Cain
  12. I agree. Promote Rivas and Anundsen to Huntsville and Peralta and Scarpetta to BC. Get their feet wet a little bit.
  13. With Nashville up by one run in the 9th, Colorado Springs had a runner on 3rd with one out. There was a sharp grounder hit to Escobar who made a diving stop and threw the runner out at home from one knee. Escobar, Gamel, and Salome go a combined 7 for 13 with a homerun and 3 RBI's. Nashville holds on for the win.
  14. Good start for Escobar and Gamel. Escobar with a solo shot and Gamel with two hits including an RBI double. Sounds up 3-1.
  15. I understand where you're coming from DHonks, but the pitching is still a disaster. Even our once very dependable bullpen is struggling mightily right now due to being overworked. Add in the fact that the Cubs and Cardinals both added some nice players before the deadline and they are playing pretty good right now. That being said, we still have a very soft schedule in August with Bush returning in a couple weeks. So anything is possible, although we haven't exactly taken advantage of the soft schedule yet.
  16. BA and Bill said something about security having to get involved as players were staring each other down after the game.
  17. Could get ugly tomorrow night. Especially if it's another blowout.
  18. So is RJ Swindle on a plane back to Nashville tonight or what?
  19. Lol Vgmastr. Anyway, it's great to be back in the game. And then Manny hits one out. Crap.
  20. Not long. I think it's just a matter of time before they flip-flop Swindle and Colome, then bring up Swindle again on Sept. 1st.
  21. Bourgeois is 16 for his last 39 including 3 more hits tonight. I wonder if the Brewers would even consider bringing him up if the Hall/Catalanotto platoon fails over the next week or two and Hart remains out until at least September.
  22. I can't even imagine why type of a package it would have taken to get King Felix, but you're probably right karmnoj. One of Gamel/Escobar plus Lawrie and a couple of our pitching prospects (Braddock/Rogers/Peralta, etc.). Gallardo and King Felix at the top of our rotation for the next few years or more would have been downright mouth watering.
