Is Mat Gamel dead? What the heck is going on here? It's ridiculous. It's pretty obvious how Macha feels toward Gamel. If he's not even going to start against RH pitchers, why have him up here at all? What a waste.

Another little tidbit about Davis possibly going to the Brewers, courtesy Jon Heyman: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jon_heyman/07/03/indians.martinez/1.html

Escobar with two more doubles tonight. That makes 22 doubles on the year compared with 24 all of last year. Make it 3 doubles.

In your opinion, do you think it's only a matter of time before Schafer goes back to Huntsville? Or is this potentially more long-term?
  5. wibadgers23
Hardy doesn't have a clue out there tonight, but that second strike to him just now was bullcrap.
  6. wibadgers23
Well at least it won't be one of those heartbreaking, walk-off type losses.

We really need a true leadoff hitter and an innings eater. Felipe Lopez and Doug Davis would look pretty good right now, IMO.

These are my most dreaded games of the year. I just hate playing in Wrigley.

Davey's final thought: "I expect the Brewers to come out and play a good game against Dempster."

I'm gonna have to head over to Appleton to watch Peralta pitch before he gets promoted. Very exciting prospect. For those who have watched him pitch, what kind of "stuff" does he have? I know he throws his fastball in the mid-90's, but how are his secondary pitches?

Nothing to do with the Brewers, but I saw this on mlbtraderumors last night.

Anybody have a statistic on how many runs we've scored in day games this year? I imagine it can't be too many.

I can't even imagine what type of a package it would take to get Haren. I'm thinking it would put a major dent into our minor league system.
  14. wibadgers23
I would love to get Vasquez. They need offense and we need pitching. Maybe a deal could be swung to help out both teams.

Awesome, awesome news. Looking forward to seeing how Cain does the rest of the year.

Is it just me, or does Logan Schafer have a lot of outfield assists this year? He has another one tonight. Anybody know where I can get an exact number?

My head hurts. At the rate we're going, we're going to score five runs on 25 hits. Terrible decision to send the pitcher with Prince coming up.

For any of our starting pitchers not named Gallardo, I guess 6 IP, 4 walks, and 3 runs is pretty well.
  19. wibadgers23
You know it was a bad game when the only Brewer highlight on brewers.com is "Narveson's sold relief effort."
  20. wibadgers23
Is Escobar hurt or is he just getting the night off? Nice to see Braddock with another flawless outing.
  21. wibadgers23
To say it was a pathetic showing today would be an understatement. On to the Mets...
  22. wibadgers23
It seems like we usually give a poor effort on day games and today is no different. Lousy pitching and no execution offensively.
  23. wibadgers23
Just terrible at-bats by Cameron and Hart. Gotta get that runner in on 3rd with less than two outs.
  24. wibadgers23
Hoffman made sure that Macha wouldn't run out of pitchers tonight by throwing BP.
  25. wibadgers23
    Well this can't end well.
