  1. I just ran about 50 feet of cable from the jack in the downstairs living room up to my desktop computer to record the game. I have a class I must attend at 3:30, so I'll see the first 5 or 6 innings, but then somehow take my mind off the game for an hour and a half until I get back and watch the rest. Thursday I'll be in the clear.
  2. Okay, Dale reminds me so much of my uncle its not even funny.
  3. So far so wrong: 13 of 22 selected the Twins to defeat the White Sox. But remember, because it was technically a regular season game, you can still submit your predictions until tomorrow's first game.
  4. Everyone seems to be assuming he'll be ready to go for OD next season. Is this the case? It sounds like he could be out longer than that, hence my assumption that arbitration is a route we won't take.
  5. So this pretty much removes the option to offer arbitration, and we lose our picks. Damn.
  6. Normally this is done to give some stake in a usual Brewer-less postseason. But just because they're in it doesn't mean we can't still make our predictions! AL Central Playoff White Sox over Twins ALDS Angels over Red Sox White Sox over Tampa Bay NLDS Cubs over Dodgers Brewers over Phillies ALCS Angels over White Sox NLCS Cubs over Brewers World Series Angels over Cubs
  7. ALDS Boston Red Sox @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Chicago White Sox / Minnesota Twins @ Tampa Bay Rays NLDS Los Angeles Dodgers @ Chicago Cubs Milwaukee Brewers (!) @ Philadelphia Phillies Make you predictions! Extra points for predicting the AL Central playoff winner, but submissions aren't due until the start of the first Divisional Series game.
  8. Josh also expressed skepticism over the Brantley report.
  9. I've got a time machine for sale. It's broke though. It only goes forward at normal speed. But its broke? So you have a time stopper machine!? EDIT: This guy might be able to help some people out... http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d175/sbrylski06/timemachine.jpg
  10. Again, this sets up CC to start game 1 of the NLCS on 4 days rest - WHICH MEANS: CC has the opportunity to pitch 3 full games against the Dodgers / Cubs. Well, you have to get there first. And if the series doesn't go 5 games, Sabathia would be ready to pitch 3 in the NLCS anyway. I'd rather have him set up to pitch two in the NLDS if needed.
  11. If you play Flight of the Hampsters for a really, really long time - you too may score 1153 on one flight, just like me!
  12. I'd say if he were in a big market, this would be made into a national legend - rather than just a local legend. He'll get some props votes, but I don't think he'll net either, partially because of the market.
  13. Wait, this coming from the person who wrote this yesterday: I fully expect them to lose by 4-6 runs tomorrow, with Sveum taking out CC early so he doesn't get hurt for his next team once they are losing by enough runs. And of course the Mets will win easily with Perez. This team has no heart and hasn't played a complete game well all month long, so there is no reason to believe that tomorrow will be any different. CC is overworked and can't do it alone. For the record, I gave my tickets to someone who hadn't had a chance to go to a game all year. I wish I had been there, but enjoyed it online and on TV with Brewerfan.net Nation. Um, and also posted this in the "Sheets Appreciation Thread" after Saturday's game: Just got back from the game (yes, left after 6th and damn glad I did). Was very good to see Sheets get booed when he left the game. A frequently injured .500 pitcher who never came up big when it mattered. I hope the fans of his new team enjoy watching his skills deteriorate even more as he falls apart. Wow. What a joker. He left after the 6th on Saturday, and calling out the people that weren't there today.
  14. I know there's a lot of people looking for tickets, but I am too, so add my to any list of potential buyers (though looks like 20fry's are already reserved here). Anyone else has any - maybe you really like my posts or something and want to sell them to me... !
  15. how about Rock screaming after the double play was turned. Say what you will about him, but he cares. And he expressed the same emotion we were all feeling at that very moment. That was awesome.
  16. I'm not optimistic about our chances at the WC. Cubs are tougher than the Marlins by far, and I think Braun's homer last night was a fluke, given how much he's been hurting. WRONG! (Good natured)
  17. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I'M EATING PIZZA ROLLS!!!!! AND THE BREWERS ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I find myself taking deep breaths every 15 minutes or so.
  19. It was about a week ago where I accepted the fact that the Brewers probably aren't going to make the playoffs. So I'm excited and would be thrilled to make the postseason, but I've already come to terms with losing out.
  20. On TV, I thought he was cheered. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought happened from Brewers fans. My comments were directed specifically at the poster I quoted.
  21. Well, Corey is a right fielder. If we compare him to other right fielders, we can figure out if he's an asset to our ballclub. Turns out he is not, regardless of who we have playing SS, or 1B, or who's in our bullpen. You have to compare stats to something to judge their worth, what would you compare it too?

  23. What is this program expected to gain her? She's not going to go to New York for 3 months just to return and be a receptionist for the rest of the season, right? Is she going to have a new role with the company?
  24. 1. There is already a Corey Hart thread. 2. His value is going to be pretty low, I think it'd be better to hold onto him another season. 3. A .300 OBP is well below average, as is his OPS of .768. The average RFer hits .348 / .451 / .799.
