  1. Wow - I've forgotten in the past three weeks how fun it is to watch a winning ballclub, jersey be darned!
  2. Hey, Chicago, whaddya say! Cubs are gunna win there next 4 and then lost their last 3!
  3. I'm 99.9% positive it goes straight to a playoff.
  4. Millen to Melvin is laughable. One took a bad team and made it into a playoff contender, the other took a bad team and made it worse. I'd say the Brewers are more like the Vikings. Start off strong, miss the playoffs. Nate Poole anyone? Ned/Dale = Childress.
  5. Better than 4 groundouts. He sucked up 16 pitches in those ABs. Hardly a consolation prize, but strikeout bashing is getting old.
  6. If we get in, we basically need a winning record over the last 6. So technically, we might not be backing in anymore, depending on how large of a sample you want to take. To tie: WINS MIL NYM 86 1-5 0-7 87 2-4 1-6 88 3-3 2-5 89 4-2 3-4 90 5-1 4-3 91 6-0 5-2 92 - 6-1 93 - 7-0
  7. It looked like a great move a few weeks ago. We could have LaPorta up right now playing for Hart, but without Sabathia, our rotation is Bush and a bunch of knuckleheads right now. And remember, we're getting draft picks for Sabathia - that's a big part of why we can give up so much. Its up to the amateur scouting department to yet make the trade worthwhile.
  8. I will refund everyone who doesn't get them... Um, what does that mean?
  9. I don't really care to much if he meddles a bit, if he's willing to sink a bunch of money into the team as he has been. As long as he doesn't get too carried away, and I don't see any reason to think he would.
  10. Wow, it would have been hard to imagine a list half that bad a few weeks ago.
  11. 2008 Milwaukee Brewers - Why, what were you expecting?
  12. Weird, I registered two email addresses and only got one email today.
  13. I'm still here, aren't I? 7 is still a relatively large elimination number.
  14. Brian bringing out some massive vibes with that video! Off-key vibes, but vibes nonetheless.
  15. NMF, congrats. And I believe they redraw from all entries for future playoff series. I am 0-1, and haven't yet received an email to the other address I submitted.
  16. If we spend next season retooling, Rickie Weeks is a guy you keep around, not trade. He's still younger than when a lot of stars broke out. If we retool, which I'm not against, Fielder and Hardy should be the two to go. Probably decline Cameron's extention (this could be a big tell of the direction the team plans to take), give Hall another shot at 3B or start him at SS to let Escobar work some more in AAA. See what's there in Brad Nelson at 1B. I think Hart could spend another season building his value up, or solidifying a premier role on the team. I would trade Fielder and Hardy for a future CF or 3B stud, and an advanced pitching prospect or two.
  17. I don't think we trade Hardy just yet. But if we do, I'd be fine with this if we get Bumgarner too, and maybe a flyer like McClain for some depth.
  18. We have a better chance of making the playoff if the Mets go 1-8 instead.
  19. Statistically, we're still around a 50/50 shot. Slightly below.
  20. If we can acquire a better OPSing RFer than 1B at the same or similar price, it don't matter if he's below average OPS at 1B. Its all going to depend on our options and trade offers.
  21. I was trying to think of what to type here, when I realized the sound coming out of my mouth while rubbing my eyes and thinking sums it up pretty good: ggrrreeeerrrrmmmeeeeoooannnn, ect., et al., so on and so forth.
  22. Oof, buzzkill.
  23. Ugh, RoCo, I'd hate Kendall in the 2 spot. If you want to split them up, how about just leave Counsell on the bench?
  24. Wow, Cruz has some nasty K totals - would fit in nicely with our defense. If he could hone in his control (5.59 BB/9 career high), he would be a true beast. I'd love the signing though. Breakdown: 0 ER: 45 appearances 1 ER: 4 appearances 2 ER: 2 appearances 3+ ER: 2 appearances JB12, you've I.D.ed my top 2009 FA target.
