  1. I don't think our players are going up to the plate apathetic. That's just me though. I also think there could be a different Ned behind the scenes. His attitude when entertaining the media may be different.
  2. I just had trouble loading a few different websites in the past 30 minutes... Some Yuku forums, and some others...
  3. Check out the date and time of your post. Strange. Wow, that is freaky. Maybe we do need a BrewerFan.net Big Brother Watch that Brian joked about in the Cuil thread...
  4. 1 hour, 20 minutes and counting until tomorrow...
  5. So you blame Ned Yost for the players hitting poorly with RISP? He's not up there behind them swinging the bat with them like a guy teaching a three-year-old to hit. Is he supposed to say something in the clubhouse that will magically make Jason Kendall's liner find grass? But it rings hollow if you keep committing to a manager who won't use better players in the right situations. Ned's problem is with pitchers/bullpen. Who is he supposed to have in the batting order right now? He's actually played the "hot hand" pretty well this season. This is a poor time for your rant too, with Weeks losing more and more time to Durham, and Hart being essentially benched.
  6. Yeah, gas or muscle strain even. My work load in the summer gets much more physical. (Framing and construction verse term papers.) Checking WebMD, simple muscle strain or pulmonary embolism at the worst (small blood clot near/in lung, treated with blood thinner medication). The symptoms of PE actually sound closer to something I had in high school (sudden shortness of breath, sharp pain when you take a deep breath) which went away after a week, which I assume was a rib or deeper bruise or something. I don't have either of that right now, the light pain is independent of anything I do.
  7. I'm a doctor hater, as in I generally stay away whenever possible. I want to make sure I need his services before I go in. Anyway, why not check BF.net first? Basically, I get very light chest pain in the same general area: left side of chest, just below the pectoral. Just kind of a light dull pain that goes in and out that's barely bothersome. Usually last for about 5 minutes, then just goes away. I think the first time I remember getting it was about a year or so ago, and very infrequently. But this summer I've felt it every third/fourth day or so, sometimes twice a day. It sounds bad probably, but I want to stress that its pretty light pain. (Say, a 1/2 on a scale of 1 to 10) Anywhere other than chest, bah I don't think twice about it. Thoughts?
  8. Thanks. ------------------------------------------ http://www.brewerfan.net/images/icons/lock.gifLocked and superseded by this thread: Creating "pretty charts" using the "code" bbcode or "pre" HTML tag (Yuku issues fixed) --1992casey ------------------------------------------
  9. I'm getting angry. Why the crap won't these work? For example, I'll put three, three-letter words on four lines surrounded by code tags: Dog Cat CowFib Lie AskPit Pot PanSam Bob Pip EDIT: They all go on one line. Why?
  10. I like WPA for my MVP ranking: Lance Berkman 5.20 Pat Burrell 4.69 Albert Pujols 4.07 Jason Bay 3.86 Matt Holliday 3.81 Nate McLouth 2.99 Carlos Lee 2.95 Ryan Braun 2.73 Chipper Jones 2.63 David Wright 2.40 All 1B/OF, really, so defense is in general a wash. If I'm voting, its Berkman easy. Of guys that the writers would vote for, I'd want to see Burrell/Pujols at this point.
  11. I wouldn't trade Prince for nobody. I wouldn't either. I'd want something for him.
  12. Very good bet considering the third sentence in the article says he's 21. I rest my case.
  13. I'll bet against alcohol. I'm thinking it more went down like this: 1. We know his grandfather is still around - he was released into his custody. So its a decent bet he is in his 20's. 2. He started an article on fire because he didn't like what it said. So we know he's an idiot. 3. We don't know if anyone was with him at the time. So I speculate he's a younger idiot type that was trying to be funny in front of a buddy.
  14. I could not take a date mini-golfing, I'm way to competitive.
  15. Definitely a small sample, but here are the stats to back up my observation: Prince Fielder's PA following a Ryan Braun HR, 2008 AB - 24 H - 3 2B - 1 3B - 0 HR - 1 K - 7 BB - 0 HBP - 1 BA - .125 OBP - .148 SLG - .292 OPS - .440 That's pretty bad. But maybe all players have trouble following a HR.
  16. Just pure observational speculation, but Prince seems to hate seeing Ryan Braun taking over this team. Not that he hates Ryan Braun, but he wants so badly to be the guy, and be in the spotlight. I specifically say this because of how he approaches AB's after a Braun HR. He's up there just swinging as hard as he can trying to match it.
  17. I don't get the hype on Melky either. Isn't Bannister the sabr guy?
  18. Foreigner concert.
  19. Congratulations!
  20. I sense the expectations are creeping up here... Be prepared, I'm sure the Brewers have another losing streak/rough patch in them this season. Could be the west coast trip, you never know. I'll just be happy to go .500 on the road the rest of the way out and pick up 4-6 more games at home. That'd be 95-97 wins, yowza.
  21. I would slot Taylor Green as our best 2B prospect too, even though he's playing 3rd right now.
  22. Alright guys, its fantasy football season. My contract league (thread link) is now open for sign ups, and we need more people to help finalize the rules. Just trying to kick-start some traffic to fantasy football over there. This thread can be locked.
  23. Salome + Cain + Gwynn for 2.5 months of Giles 3 years of Heath Bell 2 comp picks from Giles It'd probably take more than that. Giles can start verse almost every RHP, taking either Hart's spot or Cameron's with Hart sliding to CF. He is definitely good enough to pepper in some time against LHP too. He would be huge in our leadoff spot. Could help Rickie too, sliding down to 6th or 7th.
