  1. Personally I don't think the coach really matters. They could have had Phil Jackson this past year and still stunk. Van Gundy or Sampson are probably better overall than Boylan but outside of rotations and end of game play calling I don't think NBA coaches contribute to much to wins and losses. Not saying just anyone can do it; but perhaps more than any other sport the game is decided by the players. The NFL takes a tremendous amount of coaching talent and MLB, especially in the NL, has a lot of coaching strategy as well.
  2. Correct me if I am wrong but he probably has a ceiling similar to Peralta (I.E. probably a #2 type guy). Mid 90's fastball with solid control and developing offspeed stuff sounds very encouraging to me. We could have a nice stable of cheap good starters in the near future with Burgos, Peralta, and Nelson to pair with Gallardo, Lohse, and Estrada. That puts quite a bit less pressure on guys like Thornburg, Bradley, and Jungmann to develop quickly. If those guys develop its great but we don't necessarily "need" them in the near future.
  3. Miller Park may be a hitters park but it is still no where near the top 5 for hitter friendly parks IMO None of these home runs today have been wall scrapers; they probably don't get out of all parks but they are at least doubles off the wall
  4. They can review one obvious call but cant review an equally obvious call; makes sense to me
  5. Well those should be unearned runs. If Rickie hadn't thrown that DP ball at Segura's feet that was an easy turn
  6. If it weren't for Tulo he might be the odds on favorite to start the All Star Game right now.
  7. There is nothing in that story that should change anyone's mind. The guy seems like a raving lunatic to me. That doesn't mean that he is guilty and Braun bought PED's from him; but he isn't exactly oozing credibility. I have no idea why he even agreed to be interviewed; it was pointless.
  8. I wonder if it really is realistic at all that they could go to Seattle now that they lost out on the Kings? Kohl has always seemed pretty genuine in his desire to keep the team in MIL. But at the same time a new arena looks like a virtually impossible task at the moment.
  9. That Matt Harvey was allowed to throw 120 pitches in only 5 1/3rd innings last night seems like a pretty strange and stupid April stat.
  10. Signed up for my first 1/2 marathon over the weekend; doing the Brewer mini marathon in September. Went for a nice long run yesterday but my hips and feet starting killing me around 5 miles or so. Pretty sure I just have some terrible shoes
  11. So was that trade even remotely worth it in hindsight? They could have lost by 10+ 4 games in a row to the Heat without Redick. I will pay attention to this offseason just out of morbid curiousity. But if Hammond/Kohl do the same thing all over again (I.E. giving there own mediocre players huge contracts) than I might just be done. It seems pretty unlikely at this stage that the team gets blown up. I am thinking Ellis is gone for sure and there have been signs that Redick isn't all that interested in staying either. If that happens Hammond is going to be bend over backwards to keep Jennings on team regardless of the cost.
  12. It isn't like they have these girls running around in bikini's. They have 5 second audio spots of no real importance. Pretty tame for nowadays. I wonder how much they paid these women to basically just sit in front of a camera and say " This is Fox Sports Wisconsin"? Probably a pretty sweet gig.
  13. Nice nights for Nelson, Hellweg and Bradley. Can't believe I actually used Bradley in that sentence And holy Scooter; the kid is on fire. He isn't going to take Rickie's job anytime soon but my confidence in him as our future 2nd basemen is growing.
  14. It was a borderline call but I didn't find myself to upset with the call at the time. To make that borderline call on the last batter of the game seems a little iffy; but it is what it is. The Brewers had a good run with good luck; they were bound to have something like this happen. The umpiring crew in general was pretty piss poor the entire series though.
  15. He hit that liner to CF last night; that was pretty cool
  16. Man people are blaming RR for this and he was ejected an hour ago!!!
  17. So why did Taylor get taken out after only 1 AB?
  18. Ramirez just needs to get back so we don't need to argue about this anymore. I would hope Weeks gets bumped down to 6/7 once Aram comes back; that is where he belongs. But as of right now RR doesn't have a whole lot of good options there. Lucroy maybe but I like exactly where Gomez is right now.
  19. I am assuming the dislocated pinky on his left hand shouldn't be a big deal?
  20. I am just hoping for a miracle and some dumb team or teams offer huge contracts to two of Jennings, Ellis, and Redick and kind of force our rebuild on us. But then again Hammond will probably match some stupid max contract to Jennings or Ellis and we will be screwed again for the foreseeable future. I have to imagine if we lose two of those three guys that we will be really bad next year; the 2014 draft class is looking pretty deep right now. So even if we aren't the worst team in the league we could get some real nice talent in the Top #10
