  1. I understand Gennet going down since Weeks is playing well enough again to start virtually every day. But there has got to be someone at Nashville that can be an IF utility man. I don't really care who it is
  2. 1. Trout 2.Segura / Machado (A toss up in my opinion 4. Harper Can't really go wrong with any of these guys altough Segura might be the riskiest. He had the least amount of success in the minors of the 4 and thus far has only 3 months of great performance under his belt
  3. If Hellweg pitches like he belongs here then I think he is probably up for good. You can always shut him down in September if you have to. Guys like Narveson, Burgos, Figaro, etc sure as heck aren't blocking him from staying up. If Hellweg is pitching well when Estrada comes back a decision will have to be made but I can't imagine them pulling Hellweg if he shows he deserves to be up. These sorts of things tend to work themselves out anyway through trades, injuries, etc. I wouldn't be suprised at all if 2 or 3 Thornburg, Nelson, Jungmann and Pena get a cup of tea by the end of the year. Plenty of arms available to stay within innings limits.
  4. With as hard as Hellweg throws you would think the strikeouts will eventually come. But even if they dont its got to be really hard to square up an upper 90's fastball that has some sink on it. Excited to see him pitch. Peralta, Hellweg, and Nelson could all be in the rotation next year and they all have some decent promise. No aces but a pretty solid group. Plus Jungmann isn't too far behind them.
  5. I also would be pretty happy with either of those guys; I just think its pretty slim that either of them will be there. NBA Draft Express has us taking Muhammed in the 1st and Colton Iverson in the 2nd. The thing that scares my about Mohammed is that his dad is all kind of nuts and probably wouldn't like his son playing in Milwaukee. I could see him throwing a fit if he gets drafted by someone like MIL.
  6. Nice outing for Thornburg; 10 K's and only a couple of solo shots on his card. He seems to be pitching better of late. Is Tommy Toledo a legitimate bullpen prospect? I have no idea what kind of stuff he has.
  7. If Hart really is not coming back I don't see the harm giving Morris and/or Halton a shot this year. The year is basically lost already. I don't think Morris or Halton are going to be stars where you need to worry about service time. Just get one or both of them up and see what they can do. Halton can probably play a passably OK LF and if Braun is still out for a bit then both of them could see some solid time. Yuni is the obvious DFA and Francisco hasn't shown me enough to warrant keeping him either
  8. We need to sign some one yet to fill the Richard Jefferson, Drew Gooden, John Salmons role of overpaid veteran who will be benched or traded within 6 months of signing. It some sort of unwritten rule. I don't have any doubts Jennings will be back on a max deal. I think Redick just simply doesn't want to be back. Ellis I am not sure on but my gut tells me he will be somewhere else. So that leaves the SG spot to sign or trade for an overpaid over the hill veteran. Maybe we can get Grant Hill to come out of retirement.
  9. There is something wrong with the world if Brandon Crawford starts ahead of Jean Segura in the All Star game.
  10. I wouldn't mind if you could trade up to get Carter-Williams but only if we trade players not draft picks. If we stay 15 then it is anyones guess but I have to imagine they go PG or SG. Larkin wouldn't be a bad option but the talent from 10-20 this year seems really weak. And basically none of the mock drafts agree on who the Bucks will take. Its anyones guess
  11. They aren't going anywhere this year even if all three of them were to somehow come back. The draft is absolutely loaded next year. If you get a Andrew Wiggins, Marcus Smart, Jabari Parker, or any of the other Top #5-7 guys we can improve our team very quickly. I would say there are atleast 5 guys in the draft next year that would be drafted #1 this year. I really like Sanders, Henson, and Ersan. They are sold long term pieces. But this team is badly in need of an all star calibur player. Ellis, Jennings, and redick are not all star calibur players. The Bucks and every other team in NBA purgatory has to be looking at the 2014 draft class and drooling. No NBA team is going to come out and say they are going to tank; but at some point the GM has to realize the talent in 2014 is worth losing some games over. If redick, Ellis, and Jennings all leave I don't see anyway we couldn't be one of the worst teams in the league. Drafting a star like Wiggins or Parker could instantly save the franchise and keep them in MIL.
  12. I wonder if Denson should be in the Top 25 now that he has signed? He probably instantly has the best power potential in the system.
  13. I probably would be fine having either Jennings or Ellis back; just not both. They are both chuckers but at least Ellis can finish around the rim. If they could get a solid PG in the draft I would be OK bring Ellis back in. Too bad we probably won't be in a position for Michael Carter-Williams.
  14. Bradley with another solid start, minimal K's though. Why is it that all the Brewers top pitching prospects seem to be lacking in K's this year? Or am I just imagining this? No one is striking anyone out
  15. Like I said before; unless you are going to get elite prospects than what is really the point? No one the Brewers would realistically trade other than Gomez, would bring back anyone better than in our farm system right now. There is no point to blowing up the team if you aren't going to get prospects better than you already have. Ramirez, Aoki, Gallardo, Lohse, Axford aren't bringing anyone elite back. Gomez would seem very likely to not get traded. Unless they are in full blow up mode they won't trade Gallardo or Lohse because there really is no one behind them in MLB worth a lick. Fans may want to trade these guys; but I would temper enthusiam about what we could actually get back. Based on my opinion of their trade value I don't think it will be worth it and we might as well hope the team rebounds next year.
  16. Unless we truly can get a top of the line #1 type starter prospect I would be inclined to hang on to our pieces and hope the performances rebound next year. I like the starters we have at AA and AAA enough that I think they would be upgrades over Estrada, Peralta, etc. I don't want them to get blocked by anyone but a top tier starting prospect. I don't think anyone on the Brewers is screaming to get traded anyways. Aram won't bring anything good back. Sure you could trade Gomez but man it would take awful lot to part with him given his current performance and contract. I feel Gallardo is still pretty important to the future. I just don't think we could trade anyone, other than perhaps Gomez, that would really bring elite talent back. I think we are close enough to competing again that I don't want to trade valuable guys just to get back a prospect in A or AA that may or may not amount to anything
  17. My all time favorite thread was Cheese Sandwich
  18. Everyone was pretty happy when Yuni was hot but I don't think anyone really expected that to continue either. I would be suprised if Yuni is kept once Hart comes back. It was fun while it lasted
  19. Ersan for the #3 pick actually seems pretty fair. Ersan would be a lock to produce for WAS which is more than can be said for basically every player in the draft. And even in a weak draft having the #3 pick is appealling when clearly the Bucks are no where near contending. The problem is the guard position is really weak in this draft and our roster is already too forward heavy. #3 is too high for Trey Burke.
  20. Can't really speculate on call ups for Nelson or Hellweg until the trade deadline passes. I think both might get a cup of coffee in September at the least and one of them could potentially replace Peralta if he doesn't figure it out. Nelson definitely needs some more starts at AAA; if I had to guess I would say Hellweg would be called up first.
  21. This season sucks so it makes no difference to me at all if they try to get Krod 300 saves. At this point who really cares. Maybe it even saves the Crew a few bucks in arby if Henderson gets less saves
  22. Hellweg with another really nice start. Hellweg, Pena, and Nelson all look like they have some potential as #2/3 starters in MLB. I hope at least 2 of them work out
  23. You are right in that regard; it is easier to get an arbitrator fired than it is to get a MLB stooge placed on the panel. I would hope MLBPA is fighting to keep impartiality but you know MLB is going to try to pull one over on them. Who did they hire to replace Das? Their had to have been a couple arby hearing recently
  24. Really though all it takes is one arbitrator that is an MLB stooge to have these bans hold up. You know the MLB rep will vite for the van and the MLBPA will vote against the ban. It is still going to come down to the 3rd guy and that's why this process is going to be so unpredictable. MLB is going to do their best to make sure the guy they want is that final decider
