  1. Bye Mike -- Maybe Macha brings in Curt Young?
  2. I was waiting for that. Glad I didn't disappoint you... I just was saying what everybody was thinking. You are soooo predictable... I am dependable and consistent. and portly. Ouch, the gloves have come off. Guilty as charged, though.... I am massive.
  3. I think Mazzone looks good for what they did for the #4, & #5 pitchers on the ATL staff...
  4. ...and the women you take home....
  5. I'm sure the Japanese version is pretty good too (The Ring Virus) It's called Ringu -- and it is very good.
  6. Jackie Moore used to be a Brewer -- I'm AOK with getting a new pitching coach.
  7. Only if we see video of it
  8. I have never had anything real bizarre happen to me. My wife however.. My wife about every 3-4 months sees a "man" or "feels his presence" in our house (over 100 yrs old). About 4 times a year -- my wife will "see" the "man", and assume it is me -- and then I unsuspectingly come up from the basement, or outside -- and my wife will proceed to shriek and scream at me, because she thinks I was in the other room. This, of course, scares the yost out of me -- probably to the degree if I ever saw "the man", I would probably be less scared by that. My wife is a EMT, and has seen some pretty gruesome things, and has experienced some weird sensations related to her job. She tells me about them all the time, but I sort of go on autopilot, and I have forgotten a lot of details. The most terrifying thing to ever happen to me was about 10 years ago -- my daughters were 4&5ish -- I was sleeping and I felt the sensation that someone walked into my daughters room, which was just down the hall. Of course, I wanted to go check, but I had some sort of night "paralysis" and I could not move my body, but my brain seemed alert, and quite frightened. What was scary, was the paralysis part, that I couldn't move my body to help the girls. I have no doubt I was either partially or entirely dreaming the event..., but that was as scared and felt as helpless as I have ever been in my life.
  9. I coach baseball and basketball. I also do some tutoring. Those are my favorite volunteer activities...
  10. Yeah I have to agree that it was 100% Yo's fault that he got hurt on that play. He was late covering and should have just veered off instead of trying to jump the runner. Fielder has basically no fault. In all fairness, Prince was fat.
  11. Don Buford was on that team he had a good career -- ultimately though -- team signed balls are really not so much about who signed them.
  12. http://www.mcmillenandwife.com/images/lambert_rose.jpg
  13. Co-Managers? EDIT: This link seems to indicate, that IF Brenly is hired Sutcliffe jumps to the Cubs
  14. Perhaps Maddux could harness his control like he did with McClung. I think the biggest thing to happen to McClung was that he lost weight and was healthy.
  15. To me what's embarrassing is to hear fans discount this team earning its way into the postseason as something not 'worthy' enough to celebrate. No one is saying that we can't celebrate it -- I think we are just discussing the appropriate level. The 2008 Brewers did not win a pennant -- they didn't win the division, they didn't win the NL and they didn't win the WS. If we had a "post-season" banner, that had all the years we played in the PS that would be appropriate. In 1982 we were AL champs, in 1981, we sort of were AL East champs. I'd certainly be curious how other teams commemorate their WC berths. Personally I think stand alone banners should be reserved for winning divisions/leagues/WS -- I think a general "post season" banner would be cool to start though.
  16. I've been wondering myself since early in the 2008 season just how understated the managerial position's impact is. I mean, if we rate out Player A as being 3 or 4 wins better than average, and gush on said player, how can we look at managers & not take into consideration how impactful the difference of even 'just' one, two, or three games can be? Right, especially given how cheap it is to upgrade the manager spot compared to a P or IF/OF spot. For an 82-90 win team 3 or 4 wins is huge.
  17. UPDATE Thanks guys Matt Selje won (44%) -- Rio beat Fall River 69-6 last night, going to 9-0 and their first conference championship since 1969 -- should be a #1 seed in Division 7. -- Sort of a big deal for the R10.
  18. Michael's "third date" spew was quite good as well.
  19. Ryan Braun: Top Near-Age Offensive Comps: Jim Rice, Joe Medwick, Yeshua ben Joseph Heh!
  20. Clancy, neither Ryan Braun nor Corey Hart (I'm not even sure which one you're alluding to) will ever play another inning of third base in their pro careers, unless the game is out of hand or we hire LaRussa. Right please refer to the chart below.... http://images.yuku.com/image/png/f83151927cf1eb100aaf32d715fce74394be5ba.png
  21. I think here at least, a lot of the talk declining Cam's option was centered around signing CC -- I hope Cameron gets resigned.
  22. Me- it's xxxxxxxxx This is your problem -- your account number is not a bunch of X's
  23. I am pretty sure Dale didnt get the job because of his love of small ball and that is why I would be surprised if Melvin hires Brenly. I suspect Dale's lack of experience did him in.
  24. Do you have Pena on a ball? Nope -- Baseball Card. Has it been a recent thing with Steve Hovley? Hovley has always been difficult. Al Yates was another dude I could never track down. Brock Davis also comes to mind. Danny Frisella is another toughie -- esp. on anything Brewers related -- not so hard on Mets stuff.
  25. I doubt it unless their dead Yeah -- Plenty that are harder -- Marshall Edwards, Hovley, Dave May, Dick Davis, etc... I have a Roberto Pena -- Dan Thomas is definitely the holy grail.
