  1. God of Baseball: Who was? Me (pointing at Joey): Him
  2. the moderators should lock this thread, I can't stand the pressure. One second I think #1 seed, the second later I think of being left out. It's not healthy, AT ALL!
  3. Meh, I don't like this game been treated differently, like there's no tomorrow. There are 6 more games and, hopefully, a game with no tomorrow next week.
  4. apart from baseball I will remember him for telling in an interwiev he used to visit Milwaukee with a segway. (I spent 10 minutes of today just trying to remember the name of that vehicle!)
  5. in my opinion it's not a problem of routines, it's more a problem of mental energy. Knowing the exact day and time you will get to pitch reduces the amount of mental energy consumed. In a run of 6 months that is relevant. this problem could be reduced by everyday confrontation and communication between Manager, coaches and pitchers but surely not completaly avoided.
  6. wife and daughter already in bed, enjoing this first Cactus League action
  7. I come late like the balls of the duchshund (italian expression), and had to spend my entire morning to read all the posts and threads, I suspect this weekend will be busy as well, with Santana on the move. Thanks for these moments of pure excitement, and avid reading
  8. Just heard the interview posted on the media archive, the "you knows" are Prince level
  9. Cirillo had his revenge, if my memory is not wrong, by striking out CC pitching for the Dbacks. edit: found on wiki : He made the first pitching appearance of his career on August 20, 2007, against Milwaukee. He pitched one inning and gave up two walks and no runs while striking out one player, former Diamondback Craig Counsell. "He's way nastier than I thought he would be," said Bill Hall, who worked one of the walks. "I was shocked when I got up there. He's got a knuckleball, a slider, he was throwing some changeups. Those pitches make 84, 83 [mph fastballs] look pretty hard. I heard he was a better pitcher in college than he was a hitter."
  10. I got game used jersey of these unforgettable fan favorites: Brad Nelson Mike Mc Clendon Mitch Stetter Carlos Villanueva Ariel Pena Doug Davis (2nd stint)
  11. I'm going with the wild cards, two fun seasons of competitive baseball assured.
  12. It was a great ride!
  13. I have this feeling Barnes will be Brewers best reliever next year. He has the stuff, the body, even the poise to be dominant.
  14. a classic even in Italy. Just saw it was on tv last week, it was late, around midnight. My wife "i go to bed". Me "I'll wait till Wild Thing gets out of the bullpen, night". great work ASAAD!
  15. 13-12 but I think I'm optimistic
  16. How long you been living in Italy? since...day 1 in the off topic board there is a thread for those who'd like to to visit Italy. I had a BFnet member visiting me and was such a goodtime. West Coast game are good for me because i can get up very early and watch live a pair of innings (and those last three days were meaningful innings).
  17. Italy has a 6 hours time differential from central US time. Day games are in prime time here and i watch most of them live. Night games begin at 2 a.m. here and i seldom watch them live (mostly when the Brewers contend). I usually watch the condensed game as soon as i wake up witout knowing the score, Saturdays and Sundays morning i get up and watch the whole game of the night before with mlb tv. Fun fact is that playoffs apart, i completaly stopped to watch games of other teams. The time dedicated to baseball il 90% dedicated to the Brewers.
  18. Monsters morphed in the past that rose in this forum 10 years ago:
  19. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/25/travel/genoa-italy-charm-alternative-rome-florence-venice.html?_r=0 read 1st message please.
  20. Can Bill Hall p[ossess a currently active player]? We'll see on Mother's day.
  21. He provides magic: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/19094865/ball-sticks-chest-protector-st-louis-cardinals-catcher-yadier-molina It's the Cardinals Way?
  22. Yes, 2, 15, 50, even 100 games are too early for a sentence but there is no reason to avoid any discussion. Villar's nonchalance approach maybe was the difference between two wins and two losses. No way gonna cost the Brewers anything this season but this has to be kept in mind for future seasons when, hopefully, the difference between 2 W and two L could be huge.
  23. me too. I really don't think Italy in the WBC is a true italian team with a italian spirit (whatever it may mean...) btw, it seems "italy" will play today vs Venezuela in a playoff (Mexico is gone for technicalities) loser go home and winner plays USA in the next round. (and, for those who were happy to read my previous post, thanks, I am here almost every dayonly not writing much)
  24. yes. (U.S. Only )
  25. Italy 1st base coach is Frank Catalanotto.
