  1. Gift right there but I'll add it to our other gifts so far this inning.
  2. I sure hope it's Boggs or someone capable of playing a passable CF. I don't want to see Kotsay in CF anymore. Morgan will get most of the starts anyway, we just need someone who can hit lefties and play average defense.
  3. It's not a double standard. No one said Narveson had to pitch the entire 8th. They just wanted to see him start it until he gave up at least a baserunner. With the amount of balls that fly out of Chase with relative ease, Narveson is limited to probably one base runner. Why not use K-Rod? Isn't that what we got him for? Do you want Narveson on 90 pitches or a fresh K-Rod? The real problem here is Prince Fielder. NOT RRR!!!!!!!!Not sure if you are watching the game or not but Narveson's stuff was just filthy. Personally, if he allowed one HR with nobody on base I wouldn't have been mad because they would've still been up 2-1.
  4. Shocking. It worked but I still say better strategy would be to set up a double play.
  5. And what happens if Narveson gives up runs in the 8th? Then RR is an idiot for not using K-Rod. The double standards on here are starting to make me wonder if I'm on jsonline.com/stupididiotcommentsIt's not a double standard. No one said Narveson had to pitch the entire 8th. They just wanted to see him start it until he gave up at least a baserunner.
  6. Obviously Roenicke won't load the bases. Stupid. Edit: Ok so it worked once. Still say you walk to load the bases here to set up play at plate.
  7. Because the DBacks want to go after Prince in the offseason and don't want to make him look bad by charging him with errors.
  8. I think most would've been fine with Narveson leading off the inning with KRod warming up and brought in if Narveson walked the leadoff guy.
  9. But you can usually tell when he starts to blow up. He should've been allowed to stay in until he allowed a baserunner.
  10. Yeah if you aren't going to pinch-hit for Narveson after 6, why take him out after he cruised through the 7th?
  11. Off Topic: Does anyone remember Clint Malarchuk? Hockey goalie who got his throat slit by a skate. Would've died if it wasn't for trainer reaching his hand in wound and pinching the nerve.
  12. Call up Boggs. I don't want any part of Kotsay in CF again. Sliding and diving should be outlawed. Too many injuries.
  13. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/342571-the-25-most-gruesome-injuries-in-sports-history Kendall at 21.
  14. Yeah his ankle definitely snapped there. Reminded me of Kendall at 1st back in Pittsburgh like 10 years ago.
  15. Wow, nice defense. I thought that ball was gonna get by Braun.
  16. Those kind of plays scare me for Braun. I just think his leg is gonna explode every time he runs hard.
  17. Semantics. The point is, he was a rookie who played well enough to convince the team he could replace a struggling player. Right now I think Green is playing well enough that he could replace a struggling McGehee.
  18. You're gonna base that on one at-bat? Even after he just had 3 hits last night and his approach looked great. Yeah I don't think McGehee has found it again but he did hit that one hard.
  19. What do you know, bad baserunning again. And he didn't even stay in it long enough to get McGehee to second.
  20. Maybe Braun should only play 4 innings every game. He will lead off with a HR every game.
  21. But the point everyone is trying to make is he doesn't need to be an all-star. Success in this instance would be out-producing McGehee and his .595 OPS. I think Green could do that fairly easily. Also, didn't McGehee come up as a rookie and have success right away? McGehee wasn't considered as good a prospect as Green. McGehee had a .760 OPS in AA and a .774 OPS in AAA before being called up. Green had .773 OPS in AA (while coming off a serious injury) and has a .931 OPS so far in AAA. I know OPS isn't the one and only stat but Green seems to have more power and get on base better than McGehee did in the minors. He also plays better defense. I also believe Green was a year younger than McGehee was at each level. The point is, Green should be able to outproduce McGehee from here on out. At least give the guy a shot. McGehee got his 2 years ago, Green should get his now.
  22. From Roenicke pre-game: I told Roenicke about all the clamoring to bring up third baseman Taylor Green, who is hitting well at Class AAA Nashville. Green is hitting.314 with 13 homers and 54 RBI in 86 games but Roenicke noted that doesn't mean he'd do the same in the majors. "It's completely different," said Roenicke. "Look at what Gamel did in the minors, and is still doing in the minors, and what he did here (.115 in 10 games). I know people get impatient but it's not the same." Well for one, they are different players. Gamel has gotten a few chances while Green has gotten zero. Gamel also didn't get consistent ABs and he had to play games where he wasn't comfortable defensively. His approach definitely looked a lot better than .115 (he hit every ball hard his first few games but they just didn't find holes). The .115 doesn't tell the whole story with Gamel, there are just too many variables. That article also talks about McGehee and Yuni looking better at the plate. Do they have special glasses they are wearing or something? They've raised their OPS about 15 points each this month, so McGehee is at .595 and Yuni at .629 now. They still look pretty bad to me, yesterday was an anomaly.
