  1. Atleast they are giving us outs as well.
  2. Hall looks aweful. I think everyone was frustrated it didn't work but the call was extremely aggressive which imo some will appreciate. The casual fan likes agressive managers and coaches; smart fans want smart moves. That was simply stupid. OK, I'll shutup now... I think I whined enough.
  3. I'm not sure whats going on, but I think you have to pinch hit if he comes up this inning. Well, Sheets (memorably) ended the last inning, so he won't be batting for awhile.
  4. Yost blamed Santos after making the idiotic call of having Santos attempt a suicide squeeze. Way to be a man, Yost.
  5. I think players appreciate MORE winning and feeling they have a good, smart leader.
  6. You know what really is going to be funny? Yost will blame Sheets: "A major leaguer has to be able to get a bunt down. I'm disappointed in Benny." He's done it before.
  7. Well, the Brewers are going to save the jobs TWO crappy starters in a ROW! That's just wonderful. Yost makes sure to kill any rallys that MIGHT win these games.
  8. If he can't help his own cause by laying down a bunt, then he doesn't deserve run support. Did you SEE what pitch it was? I friggin eye high fastball. No ONE could bunt that. That's why Arizona pitched it there. Sheesh. Blaming Sheets? Yehhh. And how does Ben call a suicide squeeze/ did I miss the signals he sent? Everyone laughs at Yost, what's new.
  9. Wow, a smart team throws an eye high fastball when ahead of the count and the pitcher up. A stupid manager calls for a suicide sqeeze. Please, someone, DEFEND YOST.
  10. THAT WAS THE DUMBEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! YOST CAN GO TO HELL! A 2 STRIKE SUICIDE SQUEEZE WITH BEN SHEETS!? GO TO HELL YOST.
  11. Bases loaded, 1 out. Sheets better not swing ONCE. I'll take Clark with the bases juiced and 2 out. I wish he would just leave his bat in the dugout.
  12. Up to Hardy and Sheets http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  13. Hall is down 1-2 and in the midst of a whole 6 pitch AB. Darren, "Hall is having a GREAT AB here." Hall predictably swings at a ball in the dirt and Ks. 7 pitch AB! WOW!
  14. Hall trying to bunt and play for 1 run n the 4th. EXCELLANT!
  15. Bill would walk the first 7 batters intentionally, face the #8 and #9 guy, then walk the next 7 again. It's brilliant!
  16. Question: How many times have you seen a pitcher throw to third with a runner on 1B? How many times have you seen a batter PRETEND to throw to third?
  17. Clark almost muffed that big time.
  18. First Clark almost get's picked off, then a double play offa hit an run. Fun, fun stuff.
  19. I'm more concerned with the "W" than a shutout.
  20. He benched Overbay because he was completely lost against lefties earlier this year, had nothing to do with the stats. It had everything to do with stats. If had been batting .300 against lefties he would still have been benched? Overbay had alot more AB showing he could hit lefties than the 30 or so Yost used to bench him against. Overbay was simply not playing well against anyone for a while there. Just like in 30 AB everyone was convinced Jenkins COULD hit lefties. Of course he regressed to his normal averages against lefties.
  21. Let's see. Lyle hit lefties just fine in his first few years in the majors. In a silly stupidly small sample Yost decided he couldn't hit them anymore and benches him against them. Now he let's him hit against lefties and he hits them again. Yost is a genius.
  22. 94 MPH in the first... excellant. 2 Ks.
  23. Yeh, I just look at the total runs the D-Backs have given up on the year. I could try to adjust the probabilites to take into account individual starting pitchers but that would be too subjective for my tastes. Better to just look at raw numbers and put them into context.
  24. This is old, but finally saw Kinsey. Good stuff.
  25. Can you really just add the two to get 78% chance of winning? Yes you can. Those odds are for the Brewers to get EXACTLY the number of wins listed. Add them together and you get 78%. Now, since the Brewers will be sending out the top of their rotation and the D-Backs may have scrubs for the entire series, the actual probabilites are actually better. My numbers assume the average pitching for each team (based on total runs given up for the year).
