1. We never learn. Sniff *cry* sniff I am the biggest advocate of not calling for something I feel isn't a realistic goal. After crunching the numbers I think it IS realistic. This isn't like calling for a sweep on the road against a team that's not much worse than us. Despite their record, Arizona is a pitiful team. Tomm's game will be the hardest, since Webb can beat anyone (he's a darn good pitcher), but I love the Brewer's chances in this series. It screwed the Tampa and Cincy series. The Tampa Series is what prompted me to start calculating the odds of a series. You know what, they weren't even favored to WIN either series, much less sweep them. They WILL win the ARI series; that's a rluz guarantee! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
2. How do you put pics side by side?
3. M. Gosling (L), 0-2, 4.50 ERA VS. B. Sheets ®, 5-7, 3.51 ERA http://i.timeinc.net/TFK/media/news/photos/000927_oly_baseball_ver.jpg STATPACK MLB PREVIEW Counting Sunday's finale at Cincinnati, the team played 43 of its last 66 games away from home and had enjoyed only one homestand of more than three games since late May. Starting with Monday's series opener against Arizona, the Brewers play 38 of their remaining 63 games at home, including 25 of 34 games from Aug. 21 to Sept. 29. LINK Rluz's Predictions ------------------- Brewers Sweep: 34% Brewers Win 2: 44% Brewers Win 1: 19% Brewers Swept: 3% With Sheets and Cap going in this series, may I say that a sweep is not only possible, but almost PROBABLE? I know, knock on wood. BTW, since I've been keeping track of series probables, it's been dead on 6 of 8 times. Not too shabby.
4. I just wanted JDLR in there for the lefty, that was it. I posted my displeasure of Magruder being called on before he struck out looking. Can't claim hindsight in that case.
5. one of the worst clutch hitting teams in the league, Gosh, that just isn't true, no matter how many times it's said here. I agree that JDLR would have been a great guy to bring in there. All Yost did last year was whine that he didn't have a LOOGY; now he has a couple of them and doesn't use them? Sheesh.
6. Brewers Sweep: 12% Brewers Win 2: 37% Brewers Win 1: 38% Brewers Swept: 13% I tried to warn you guys...
7. Rluz, that's another time a remark seems to be directed at me with false info. That was not directed specifically at you, but at ANYONE who was acting like a sweep shoudl be the goal. As for my other comment where I missed your sarcasm, I appologize.
8. I guess Yost would rather have Magruder than Helms and Santana than Turnbow. Good to know.
9. Never saw that coming? How's that "We should sweep them" talk looking now?
10. Yost loves Magruder. What he doesn't realize is just because you are willing to stand in the batter's box on the left side of the plate, that doesn't make you a switch hitter. Why he didn't use Helms? Who the heck knows. I guess he isn't battling enough.
11. 2-0 to Magruder. Don't swing! We want Clark!
12. his pitch count seems like a high number and it's hot outside. When do you think a person SHOULD be taken out? How many pitches. Moeller swung at ball 4. Darn it. OO, he get's it anyway. Yipee. Magruder batting from the left side and Durrington pinch running. Will Durro get picked off before Magruder K's?
13. Well, branyan K'd twice. I guess it's time to bench him for a week. I mean, he DID almost get to play 1 whole game in this series. Good enough! It's not like he's been hot lately. EDIT: Lefty-lefty.... bleh http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
14. Nice play by Branyan. Too bad Davis couldn't have snagged that to end the inning. 122 pitches and Davis is staying in there? Crazy.
15. That's right, keep giving us free outs. 118 pitches. Yost think Davis is Livian??!!
16. So the crew have scored a million runs in the last few games; Now when they only need 3 to win it they can't do it? Baseball can drive a person crazy.
17. Well, Yost let Davis bat for himself late in the game. That means Davis won't make it through the next inning.
18. Why did BOTH tv announcers ignore the fast that the inning had ended on a strikeout? Do they ever know what's going on?
19. You just KNOW Hudson is going to get blown up in his next start and lose his starting spot.
20. Let's not waste a great performance by Davis, please. 10 Ks... wow.
21. Wow, they're leaving Hudson in. He looked done last inning. I thought you are supposed to leave your starter in until they fail?
22. Wow, Clark didn't to try advance to third on a grounder to the left side. Good job!
23. rluz, don't you know from sarcasm? wasn't talking about the stats you brought, you actually bring up stat evidence that I pay attention to. **FOOT IN MOUTH*** My sarcasm-o-meter didn't go off. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
