Does the ball also rise into the stands when the other A's pitchers go through their wind-up? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif This is really frustrating to watch. Hopefully this is one of the 50 and not one of the 62.

Prince strikes out again. Bad time to have a bad day. I get a nasty feeling that we're about to see strikeout number three in the inning for Eyre.

JDLR!! Looks like we're still getting the out-of-control JDLR. Of course, I say that and he throws a strike on the outside corner. Then walks. Lovely.
  4. davemakovec
Did he over-run the base and get tagged out?

Neither am I, Russ, neither am I. I was hoping to see Gross lead it off. Gameday shows Rickie having watched two belt-high strikes right down the middle to start the at-bat. Working the count doesn't just mean watching every pitch until you have two stri... At least Rickie can keep getting on base with a good ol' Hit By Pitch. Edit: send him. seriously. get him running. re-edit: curses.

You can always count on Henry Blanco for a nice, quick out. Alright, Brewers, time to get some runs back. This is a beatable team.

Clark keeps scuffling. This is frustrating to see all those runs left on second and third base. We're making a really bad cubs team look decent. This is ugly.

If we get to Bush I wouldn't mind seeing a pinch hitter come in. He hasn't been doing too hot today. Edit: never mind.

Alright! C'mon Carlos, time to keep this rally going!
  10. davemakovec
I was talking about the strikeout with the bases juiced. Good inning by Bush, although it's against the worst hitters on the team. We need some hits and some base-runners now.
  11. davemakovec
At least we got out of there with only one run. In Fielder's at-bat, did he look like he was trying to hit every pitch out of the park?
  12. davemakovec
Anybody have prospective lineups? Edit: there's one. I feel good about this Maddux start. He's never gone 5-0 in his career, he hasn't pitched well against the Brewers in recent memory, and the Cubs are missing two of their best three hitters (Barrett will be out today) and their other good hitter is slumping (Ramirez is stinking it up right now). Go Brewers!
  13. davemakovec
They're about to lose three more.

Do we even play the MAAArlins? That Scrubs-MAAArlins game is going to be decided on errors and missed plays. Those two teams are playing some ugly baseball right now.

WOO-HOO!! Brewers win!! Brewers win!! Seriously, though, Turnbow, don't do that to me.
  16. davemakovec
Well, jloos, somebody in our division had to win that one between the Pirates and the Cardinals... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The Cubs score two on a Rickie Weeks-style DP throw into the dugout, courtesy of the Marlins' AAA SS.

Pitch 12: called strike. Now THAT is an at-bat. Man. I'm reminded of Lee's against the Pirates on opening day when he went nine pitches in and then jacked one over the left field wall on #10. Except, you know, for the homerun.
  18. davemakovec
Now we need to hold this lead for one inning and it's Turnbow time.
  19. davemakovec
Do you think Bobby Cox putting in lefties twice specifically for Prince is because his scouting is bad or because he's missing his pitching guru, Leo Mazzone? Nice to see Prince made him pay for the mistake. Way to go to the opposite field, Prince!
  20. davemakovec
Nuts. I would have liked to see Sheets go another inning or maybe two. I also think that Bill Hall is a poor choice of pinch-hitter. Edit: three-pitch K. Ben Sheets can strike out on three pitches, too, Ned, shoulda left him in http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Now we trust to our bullpen to hold 'em. Throw a couple good innings, boys, this one's going well!
  21. davemakovec
C'mon, Chad, now would be a great time for a base hit. Edit: JJ drawing a walk, too. Good times.
  22. davemakovec
Are opposing coaches aware of Prince's splits vs. lefties? Looks like the Braves are going to start burning through their bullpen. Anyone watching? Is there a shift on?
  23. davemakovec
At this pace, he'll go either seven or eight. Going for the CG might be a little bit of a stretch for a guy on his third start off the DL.
  24. davemakovec
That inning started looking exactly like the third until Ben got Giles to fly out to end the inning. Time to tattoo this guy. I predict a Ben Sheets jack to start things off. Edit: aaaaal-most! At least he got his bat on the ball.
  25. davemakovec
Attaway, boys! Koskie's second HR in three days. Hopefully this means he's going to heat up. JJ Hardy extending the inning, too. Our good looks against Sosa are starting to turn into hits and runs. Keep it up!
