  1. Brady Clark with the ribbie! Edmonds with an error allowing Davis to 3rd and Clark to 2nd. And a passed ball! 3-1 Crew! c'mon Jeff, get a base hit RBI here. Let's get a two-out rally going.
  2. I was kinda depending on 1310, m'self. Let us know if you find it, k?
  3. I agree. It's time to break out the bats and get hitting. In the early going, it's become clear that the Cardinals' weaknesses are the spots in their lineup that are not 3,5 or 9*. If we can score some runs early and get into their bullpen by the fifth or sixth inning, we should be able to take advantage of it and pull off a win. It'd be nice to steal a couple of extra wins from the Cardinals before Edmonds starts hitting and their bullpen solidifies. *against us, at least.
  4. This has to be the most comically ludicrous game I've ever followed: Ronny Cedeno hit into a fielder's choice double play - Claussen (P) to 2B Womack to 3B Encarnacion to 1B Hatteberg, Murton out at 3rd, Cedeno out at 2nd. The inning before that, Claussen tried to pick off Barrett at 1st (with Lee on 3rd) and he got into a rundown, and the play resulted in Derrek Lee out at home. I think I hear circus music...
  5. Defensive substitution: Freel for Griffey? Huh? Griffey has no errors in this game. The ball hasn't even come near him. They should have subbed out Encarnacion or Hatteberg if they were worried about the defense.
  6. Me, too - it reads pretty embarrassing, and I like to see cubs players get embarrassed.
  7. Five errors for the Reds. Their infield defense is pretty atrocious today. If I were that pitcher I'd be pretty mad at my infield defenders. So far in the fourth the cubs have had three baserunners, all reaching and one scoring on errors.
  8. I love seeing the scrubs get destroyed like this. I only wish it would happen every day. Now if the Brewers take three or more of the games remaining on this road trip it'll be a pretty good week.
  9. Is there a Silver Slugger award for pitchers? Bronson Arroyo and Mark Mulder are in a running contest to see who can outslug the other. I love seeing people hit home runs against the Cubs, especially when it's the pitcher.
  10. and when we have one on and no out we hit ground balls... Mulder's really pitching a good game today. We're having a lot of trouble against him.
  11. Rick Helling pitching for Tomo Ohka - this is a good time for a reliever to warm up - he's facing the bottom three of the Cardinals' order, and hopefully he doesn't walk the pitcher to extend the inning. Then, we need to get our bats going. Edit: Helling sits down 7-8 with three, count 'em, three pitches, then proceeds to give up a five-pitch double to the pitcher. I'm glad words aren't physical things because I'd be eating them, and I'm not hungry. I think I'm done posting for the game - every time I do something bad happens.
  12. That's a timely K. Then Rolen doubles. I think Ohka's done after this inning. They're killing him out there.
  13. Is it Maddux or Yost to the mound? Tomo needs to get it together or take a break. This has been a messy outing so far. Getting into the bullpen in the fifth inning in the first game in a series isn't good, but giving up a bunch of runs in that span is worse.
  14. I get that post typed just in time for Rickie to swing at a pinch that bounces off first base on its way to the plate... Come on, Prince!
  15. Bill Hall getting a good start to his day - Rickie Weeks just needs to get the ball out of the infield here and we can get a run. I think he's due to hit one out of the park, though...
  16. Finally Tomo gets out of the inning. That was bad, but it could have been worse. Those of you watching the game, how are his pitches looking? On Gameday, all I can see is location.
  17. Way to go Bill Hall! Tomo Ohka had me scared in that first inning.
  18. My opinion of Jenkins is as streaky as his hitting. One day, I love the guy even when he's slumping, the next I'm saying we should cut him http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I think SgtClueLs hit on a big thing: that Weeks error. He catches the ball and turns two, or at least just catches the ball, and it's a whole different inning. It didn't matter in the end because the Brewers still couldn't manage to get any hits to fall, but the error was bigger than some people admit. I do think that Cappy lost control in the late part of the inning.
  19. I was at the game today... There were a number of live balls coming off of Brewer bats today - the D'backs' 3B stole a couple of base hits with athletic leaping catches on fast line drives. There were a number of hard-hit balls (by Lee especially) that went straight to outfielders' gloves. Those hits will fall. Today was just one of those days. The coaching was a bit frustrating. Part of me wanted to see Cappy sit, but part of me had faith that he'd fight his way out of the inning. As for Jenkins... I don't know about Jenkins. He is really streaky, but even when he's on a hot streak, he has a tendency to get fooled, and badly. What kills me is his salary - even when he's hot I don't think he's worth $8 million a year. Some of that could go toward Lee and some toward Davis, and give some of the young guys a shot in right, or better yet, put Hart in center and Clark back into right.
