  1. Because the White Sox and Yankees were already taken as rivals.
  2. Wolf is really struggling with his efficiency right now. That's a lot of pitches to get six outs from a very bad lineup.
  3. I'm worried about this series, but I hope that Randy Wolf continues his string of strong outings, and the Brewers greet Scott Baker rudely in his visit to Miller Park.
  4. RR must not understand platoon splits for relievers.
  5. Three innings from Estrada should probably be enough. It's decent fill-in pitching, for sure.
  6. It's always nice when a pinch-runner can come around to bat. I hope this is the beginning of a free fall for the Cards.
  7. It's times like that when you want Bob Uecker in the booth.
  8. How's that LOOGY working out? What's that, Ron, he's junk? I'm not surprised. Call up Braddock. Nobody cares if he's late. He's filthy.
  9. Baseball is a funny game sometimes. When the Brewers were tearing up the NL, the Cards were right with them, refusing to lose. Now, the Brewers get embarrassed by the Iowa Cubs, and they actually pick up a half game on the Cardinals.
  10. It's never cut and dried with the Cubs. Never. Also, Axford's throwing gas. Pitch f/x has him reaching 96-97. "Strike three on a bender!"
  11. Again, the arbitrariness of the MLB Live Look-In is frustrating. I saw Ax cut down Baker on a beautiful offspeed pitch, and the Look-In cuts out. Just need one more, Ax. Let's go.
  12. "In play, run(s)" Sweeter words have never appeared on my computer screen.
  13. YuniB, you're terrible. Gameday showed the last pitch in the opposite batter's box. Come on!
  14. Bases juiced, no outs for Yuni B. Just hit it into the outfield. Somewhere in the outfield. Please.
  15. In other news, while waiting for this rain delay, the Cardinals are getting thumped by the Nationals. We might have a chance to pick up a game today.
  16. Nieves couldn't hit or field. Your backup has to do one, at least. Good riddance. Take your .360-ish OPS out of Milwaukee and never come back.
  17. Even Loe and Dillard I would have have faith in if RRR knew that they're righty-only pitchers. There's plenty of talent in the bullpen to win games. It's just that the talent doesn't extend to between the manager's ears.
  18. The thing that bothers me about these games is how winnable they are. There is no good reason for the Brewers to lose this one. All you need is to not cough up three runs in an inning. Braddock should have been up to start, but I'm surprised that it wasn't Loe. I can overlook Monday's game (you can't win if you don't score), but you would think that getting seven one-run innings from Gallardo and a three-run lead going into the eighth that you should win.
  19. The pitch Hart missed would have been strike three. He missed a pitch against a pitcher with ferocious stuff who strikes out more than a batter per inning in his career. Is anybody else really annoyed by the arbitrariness of MLB Gameday's Live Look-Ins?
  20. Man, that is frustrating. Yuni defining the concept of hits in useless situations. Let's hope the Brewers can pull this out.
  21. I was about to type that hopefully Gomez could get to second, but then he stole second! Base hit here would be reeeeeally nice.
  22. Brewer numbers look so much better against Wells than against Dempster. Hopefully that means they can actually score a run or two.
  23. So far the scrubs have rolled over in abject supplication to both the Reds and Classies pretty much every time they've played. It's time for ours, Chicago. Time for your crappy hitters to remain crappy, and for your crappy pitchers to remember that they're actually crappy. I don't want to see the scrubs suddenly turn into the 2008 Cubs for four days only in June.
  24. These both seem relevant: http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/10115e9f8d30622907b4986c8b138daabbde3e3.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/e10255696384632b6ae227b4b856beaad99e662.jpg
  25. Yeah, Lucroy should have been up 2-1 on that slider instead of 1-2. That makes a huge difference with the pitch he missed to strike out.
