  1. Dang. 2/3 picked the Brewers, all in 7. My heart and liver can’t handle 7 games.
  2. DANG IT!!! I just turned the game on and they’re doing a tribute to Uke. Of course I start crying.
  3. I just finished a long day of teaching voice lessons and accompanying students for an event tomorrow. I’m waiting for my daughter to be done with musical rehearsal. It’s now hit me. IT IS GAME ONE OF THE WORLD SERIES. THE BREWERS ARE IN IT! THE GAME IS IN MILWAUKEE!!! This is the most I’ve ever missed being in Wisconsin since leaving in 2008.
  4. Y'all. Man. This is so awesome. It was my hope in asking the question to get a few nostalgic answers somewhat like mine. This has been even better. I can't wait to see the emotions when we win it all. This has been one of the best threads on Brewerfan(atic) that I've been a part of. Thank you. Tomorrow night cannot come soon enough!
  5. Ultimately, the question is who makes more of our WOAHS SOLVDD. I'd say stick with Wild Bill.
  6. I've seen that as well. But still, it's quite scary and definitely puts things in perspective, at least I hope so, for a 28 year old young man who is healthy.
  7. My younger sister lived in St. Pete before she passed away 3 years ago. I got to go to a couple of Rays games when I visited, because she had a friend who worked in the ticketing office. First time there, he got us tickets to their seating area on field where you have all you can eat food, drinks and snacks. Super cool. We went with my girls and my nephew and ended up getting Brett Phillips' autograph on a ball for each of the 3 of them. When my sister was in hospice, one of her friends took my nephew to a Rays game and the team hooked him up with all kinds of swag. So, yeah, I have a special place in my heart for the Rays. But come Friday, that goes away. We are on the cusp of getting our first ever World Series championship. I know they are too.....but they can wait.
  8. Totally. It was horribly mismanaged. I mean, when they're talking about him not going on the IR because he's week to week....I was extremely confused. And then finding more clots? Yikes.
  9. Wow. Hurts out for the year. Blood clots found in his lungs as well. First and foremost, prayers for his health and recovery. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50218378/eagles-jalen-hurts-season-due-blood-clots-lungs
  10. I had hoped you'd share your thoughts. Thanks Laura!
  11. Matthew Golden is amazing!!! He went to high school in the district I live in. So another extra reason to root for him.
  12. I like how Aaron Nagler of Cheeshead TV said it. Expect him to come back week 12 and if he comes back before, you're pleasantly surprised.
  13. Agreed. It's a good start so far.
  14. I'd love a win tonight, but the thing I want the most is a better showing than the Notre Dame game.
  15. I always root for chaos in CFB. We got it today so far. Georgia, Texas and Alabama all lost. Now, can UCLA lose?
  16. What's on my mind? The words Brewers and World Series are still not computing in my brain. That's the biggest thing. Outside of that, I'm interested to see what the weather delay/changes to the ALCS does for the Rays/Guardians. Outside of that, I'm trying to not think too much about the World Series, get caught and ahead in projects I need to do for the upcoming week (the joys of being self-employed) and try to make my brain understand that the Brewers are hosting World Series game 1 in 6 days..
  17. That was absolutely glorious. Thank you so much for sharing.
  18. I thought after the Pack went to the Super Bowl in 97 and lost that they'd be back for multiple Super Bowl runs. I want us to win, and will root like mad for it. But I think it's about enjoying the ride as well. Hopefully there will be multiple WS runs and wins, but you never know.
  19. That's really the point, though. When you haven't been to the World Series, or even had the amount of playoff success that other teams have had in recent history....or even been able to celebrate many seasons over .500, the culmination is what's important. That's why I wanted to start the thread. Not just because I had thoughts and experiences that I wanted to share, but because I knew others did as well. And reading through the other comments and experiences has made me smile, has made me choke up, and ultimately, made me appreciate this season.
