  1. The Brewers have been horrid on the road since early May. If they don't play at least .500 on the road, they have to make up the difference at home, and I don't see them winning 8 out of 9 on every home stand for the remainder of the year. A wise man once said doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is lunacy. Well, we have a pattern here, that needs to be addressed, but this team is as poor on the road as last year's team was. The thing is, I'm not sure how you fix something like that... maybe stay in different hotels, change the routine... something about being on the road doesn't work, that's about all I know.
  2. His problem isn't his stuff, it's his control... why would he resign Milwaukee after 7 years, and why would Milwaukee want him back? A change of scenery might be just the trick. I'm all for giving a guy his chances, but the only respectable stat he has is ERA, which won't be sustainable with such a high WHIP in the majors. He's got a fantastic live arm, good breaking pitch, but lacks pinpoint control. I just don't see how he fits in. I don't see them releasing him, he's not horrid by any stretch. I just don't see why they'd want to resign him.
  3. Bill Schroeder, that's why you don't waste pitches early in the count... why nibble when you don't have to? Now I'm really done with the game.
  4. Fastball down the chute... I'm not a fan of the pitch selection late in games the last month or so. Way too much nibbling... spiked breaking stuff in the dirt, then a grooved fast ball that's spanked some place. The pitches are pretty predictable as I know what's coming sitting at home. Also why is it that so often when the Crew scores early they don't score late? I'm turning this off before I break something.
  5. What's there to defend? He's playing way below expectations. I'm simply unable to recall the last time you posted anything positive about anyone or anything, and Brettac pretty much nailed it.
  6. I really enjoy the predictability of Bucksman4...
  7. You could say that about 6 or so road games in the last 6 weeks... I don't like playing the what if game, but if they had won those 6 games, this would be an entirely different season... at this point. That better be an error Bill, he was out by a mile with a decent throw.
  8. I'd like to see Yo back in the pen but if the Brewers continue to struggle on the road the rest of the year, I'm unsure how the brewers can keep him out of the rotation. I'm not sure if there is an innings qualification for ROY, or not and don't feel like looking it up.
  9. I'm sorry, I just don't get what your trying to say, there are no similarities between an accomplice and bystanders? I reread your posts this morning, I'm just not getting your point.
  10. Good stuff in the Helena archive, too bad they still haven't done anything about the quality of the pre-game audio. I don't understand why it's so bad but the game feed is just fine.
  11. Here's some commentary from MiLB around the minors on the trade. Click the link, then click the link for the Linebrink trade. Lots of talk about Inman. web.minorleaguebaseball.c...a/more.jsp
  12. In my experience when I had lead foot issues in my late teens and early 20s they always say 5 MPH over. I figured this out fast so when they'd ask me I'd always go 10 MPH under, then he has to tell you the speed he locked you in at. Usually it's right around what I was traveling anyway, the only time I got off with a warning the patrolmen told me to get my speedometer checked... Radar guns have a +/- of 7mph if I remember my physics lab on wave reflection properly, it's been a long time though. Laser guns are much more accurate, and the law considers them 100% accurate. This is the whole reason why all levels of police patrols are so picky about the front license plates... with the streamlining of automobiles the license plate is the best forward reflecting surface on the car... awful hard to write you a ticket if they don't get a reading...
  13. How do you figure that Peavey, as a party to commit the crime, he/she has been intimately involved. If you're riding in a car and someone goes psyco at the wheel are you an accomplice? There's much grey area, and in my opinion, frivilous lawsuits are too often looking to assign blame for no other reason than people like to get "easy" money. I could go into great lengths about a couple of cases I know about it, but I signed a NDA. Unfortunately, when business is involved, they'd rather settle than deal with the publicity, which only perpetuates the cycle of idiocy. My sister also spent 5 years chasing down various types of insurance fraud before going back and getting her teaching license. Let's just say that based on personal and family experience I'm skeptical by default and believe that personal responsibility is a lost value. Assigning fault for a helicopter crash that in no way was involved in the pursuit other than to get ratings is like prosecuting a home owner for shooting an intruder because it's "excessive force". I'm sure there is a legal argument to be made, but in my opinion good taste and common sense should prevail. Actually, I will comment on one case I know about that's in no way related to my job or friends. There is a dude I know who recently retired from his job at 35 because he sued the state into putting him on permenant disability. Supposedly his wrist, one of his eyes, and emotional distress make him to disabled to work as a prison guard, or sell mortgages, or do any of the other jobs he's held recently. However by some miracle he's healthy enough to body build every day and ride around jet-skis on the lakes and rivers in NE WI all summer. When confronted about this, because in effect he's sticking it to every tax payer in the state as we pay for him to sit on rear at home, body build, and enjoy recreation activies on the tax payers, his response left quite a bit to be desired and if I ever cross paths with him I'll probably punch him even though he's twice my size. To paraphrase as the quote was told to me second hand, "If it wasn't me it would be someone else, I'm going to take care of me." His kids are already screwed up, he cheats on his wife, cheats on his girlfriends with other girlfriends, the dude is a first class puke. I used to think guys like him were in the vast minority, but I don't think that's the case anymore. Hancock's dad doesn't have any business suing anyone for his son's probable alcoholism, and the families of the people killed in the copter crash and the authorities don't have any business piling on charges in this case, no matter how tragic. Let's face it, they were in the air making money off of a police chase and things went terribly wrong. The criminals don't get a cut of the profits when things go well for the news crews, why should they get the blame when they don't?
  14. Yea, 444 or 5 on Dish.. I looked this morning and set the autotune.
  15. Balfour has good stuff, if he can start locating his slider for strikes, he'll be fine. He was missing so badly that people were just sitting on a grooved fastball. I'm sure his problems were mostly mental and it started to snowball on him as he put more pressure on himself. I was at the walk fest from the relievers on the 20th, and you could see his body language change after the first walk. I'll continue to follow him and root for him, he's still a tremendous story, I would have liked to see him succeed in Milwaukee, but it wasn't meant to be.
  16. It's not siding with the felon who's trying elude police, it's about liability gone out of control. True if he didn't get in a chase the helicopters wouldn't have been there, but sensationalism and reality based TV have much more to do with the pilots being there than the chase. If there weren't ratings involved, every local new copter wouldn't have been in the air. While not as low as a certain pitcher's father trying to sue everyone, the root cause of the crash is the media monster... the fault and the liability should start there. What's next, papararrazie suing the stars for falling out of their trees?
  17. If Bill would never speak he'd be perfect. He's the only part of the broadcasts I don't enjoy.
  18. I have lots of friends that really like poker, but I just can't seem to get into it. I played on Pokestars for awhile, I just ended up angry all the time and haven't touched it since.
  19. Figures, after I posted his about OBP being higher than his SLG most years he's been a machine. I should maybe post a negative observation everyday about a player and we'd have the most productive system in the business. Gamel did that too, right after I called his SLG to that point in season, TGJ like... Brantley's SLG is now 60ish points below his OBP. This virtually garuntees 5 HRs in the next month.
  20. What are you talking about Greg? Look who actually wrote what you quoted before spouting off. Peavey, I figured you'd be happy when you saw this, after all the round and round we did on the prospects for pitchers issue on the trade forum. Was a good debate over there, I guess this means I lost or something... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  21. Why is it that people who don't like that deal are "in love with the minor leaguers"? I haven't seen anyone opposed to deal say they were opposed to trading prospects, they just don't like this trade.
  22. Villy was a starting pitcher, he's not going to wear down.
  23. My only regret in my life is not having the guts to chase the correct woman at the proper time... go for it dude.
  24. I disagree with your pitchers... 1. Jeffress 2. Bryson 3. Tyson 4. Periard 5. Seidel/Anundsen For position players I'd go. 1. Salome 2. LaPorta 3. Gamel 4 - 5 could be anyone from Brewer/Green to Brantley/Cain to Gindl/Lucroy to Ford/Gillespie. Based on raw tools I'd lean toward Brewer/Gindl edit. Fixed Anundsen's name.
  25. I'd be shocked if all 8 pitchers were on the roster next year... 2 of the 3 of Cappy, Vargas, and Bush will likely be gone. While it makes sense to burn a year up in the pen for a young pitcher, I really don't see why our best pitchers wouldn't be in the rotation. I'll call my shot now... Next year's rotation will be Sheets, Yo, Suppan, 1 of Cappy-Vargas-Bush. 1 of Villy-Parra... once the 2 of the 8 are gone, our depth doesn't exist anymore. The system's best healthy pitcher in Jeffress will be in A+ working on his stuff. Rogers may come back and be effective, but he wasn't all that effective before his shoulder surgery as a starter, but who's knows where he'll end up or what he'll do. He was at A+ when he got hurt, so hopefully he'd start there. Braddock is currently down with a shoulder problem, and Periard is quitely having a pretty nice season at A ball, but I'm not sure what to make of him yet. So while our depth is still good today, going into next season we'll be pretty thin with Starting pitching depth in the organization. edit. Made it clear I view Jeffress as the systems best prospect at this time.
