  1. Told ya. I love blanket statements like this. Hey, this gonna happen....if it does im a prophet if not I get enjoy the desired outcome! Yeay me I get a good result no matter what. Wasn't it just 3 days ago when it looked like the Mets were going to crush them and the Brewers came back and won it.. you would think the score is 10-0... I think it is funny when people get upset of 3 runs.. 3 runs makes it possible to be a quality start yet.
  2. By July Bush and Pena will be filling those spots so you can look forward to that.
  3. I completely agree with you.. you had mentioned when is the last time the struggled to score runs and I simply pointed out an entire month when it seemed difficult. I guess my point is that this will be short-lived and even with it they are 8-5 so far, wait until the bats wake up.. I am guessing on game 26 is when they break out.
  4. Apparently you took off August from watching baseball last year.
  5. Yes.. the only argument I can think of for not batting Hart fifth is that with Fielder in front of him it may limit his baserunning opportunities. I could even be talked into batting billy 3rd for a week so he can get right on a steady diet of fastballs in front of Prince. On a side note.. we know see why Turnbow is the 6th option in the bullpen right now.
  6. Ok.. that is really reaching to find something to rip Ned on.. the guy who replaced him is 1-3 with a walk and should be 2-3 if not for a great play last inning. If anything we should be praising Ned for putting Dillon in. Maybe suggesting he should be playing third tonight instead of left which is valid in hindsight.
  7. Hall time to check out the 6th spot for awhile.
  8. Valid point. I hate the NBA, but I get what you're saying. But man, having so much faith makes each of these games so heart-breaking. It's hard to remember it's a long season when you're in the middle of these games. I hear you.. it is harder now that I have MLB Season ticket and actually get to watch the games.. especially tough after football season when you are used to pulling out all stops to win that one game where here you have to remember they have to worry about August / September when it comes to using a bullpen and bench. What works for me is to close my eyes and remember when Wayne Franklin and Matt Kinney were our number 3 and 4 starters and all of a sudden Dave Bush looks like Greg Maddux out there.
  9. Hopefully they bring in a Lefty so Braun can PH for Gross
  10. Shouse once again showing his value. We don't mention it but another good trade by Melvin.
  11. So you prefer watching Bucks games instead of Brewers games this year? that is just silly .
  12. Nice call by Yost to get an extra inning out of Bush there. Decent game by Dave.. need the bats to wake up..
  13. Maybe because he's pitching a decent game. The question is whether you prefer Bush, Turnbow, or McClung in this spot? I could see the argument for Turnow or Bush so I don't think it is flip the coin..
  14. Come on JJ.. work a walk so we can see Braun hit..
  15. So since it is only the 6th is this a Turnbow game?
  16. Yes.. I would say 70% chance Braun throws him out.. at the very least it is a good enough throw to keep the runner at first or get him in a run-down... Nice makeup catch by Dillon
  17. I agree.. at the very least to give him more experience when he has to play there full-time next year when LaPorta is up.
  18. The nice thing is if Gagne holds up and I think he will.. is that Ned can bring either Torres, Mota, or Riske in early if he needs a critical out without exposing himself in the 8th.. Of course being relief pitchers they all will blow up occasionally but if you look at the choices last year to this year I have much more confidence in our pen this year especially when Bush replaces McClung next week.
  19. I have to say it is nice when the biggest issue is which backup OF will temporarily start in Center.. what are we going to argue about when Cameron gets back? My vote: - Whether Counsell or Kapler should be the first PH off the bench? - Who should be the 8th inning guy, Riske, Mota, or Torres? - Whether Hart or Hall should bat 5th? My vote is whether they should move Braun up to second and everybody else up 1 and bat Cameron 7th..
  20. I agree.. Yost is damned either way.. the good news is that Mench is not starting tonight so Kapler or Gross is an improvement. Maybe he starte Hernan or Dillon and let's Hart play center...
  21. Yes.. Kapler has had the better career so he should start under any criteria..
  22. I have to think that Bush is headed to the pen regardless of the outcome of this game. Villy and Manny have shown themselves to be better pitchers with higher ceilings and it would be easier to move Bush to the pen where he would be a major upgrade of McClung. Then you could let him start 8 - 10 selected games throughout the year and with off-days limit Yo's, Villy, and Manny's innings. Of course that is all assuming no further injuries to the staff. I think this is the series where Prince finally breaks out. Nice to see Hart heating up... I just hope that regardless of who is pitching that Kapler gets the starts over Gross until he cools off.
  23. I shudder to think what the message boards would look like if Davey Lopes was managing this team or if we had Dusty Baker running our bullpen.
