  1. I am a big Bill Hall fan. But I have seen several instances in the past few weeks with him flashing a little arrogance. His home run against Detriot cleared the fence before he made a move for first base. And tonight against the Twins, his deep double high off the wall - he sat and watched that ball for a long time before he took off and didn't make it to second by all that much. Seeing as he has really been slumping lately. Just got a big contract. Struggled with his new position for a LONG time. Has only 7 home runs. He should go about his business and be happy that he wasn't benched. But then, that is just me. I am always a fan of the players who act like they have been there before - and will be there again.
  2. No way they would trade Mark Rogers with his stock this low. He still has a chance to rebound and be a good pitcher. TGJ should have been traded a month ago. He has really worn me out. Way too many strike outs for a guy of his "quality" I also think Zach Jackson is safe. While he looks unlikely to ever really contribute for the big league club. I think they will keep him stashed as a back up LHP with AAA talent. In case Cappy ever goes down - we would at least have an LH option. And why does Jenkins keep getting thrown into trade rumors. Our outfield has been our weakness so far - I can't imagine why we would trade away a productive member. He has more than done his job this year. (And I am a card holder of the "I hate Jenkins" club)
  3. Thats kind of my points though. Those numbers are pretty bad - but so are Kevin Mench's and he is making like 4 million to do that in MLB. If Nix was RH, I think he could replicate the numbers that Mench is putting up for the big league club. (And at a much smaller price) It would be great to flip him for a RH version of himself. An AAAA player with limited upside who can platoon with Gross of Jenkins if needed.
  4. Can we get anything for Laynce Nix? He has absolutely no future with this team. His real value was that he could play centerfield (Bill blocks him there) And he is also a left handed outfielder (blocked by Jenkins, Gross, and Gwynn) Are there any comparable RIGHT HANDED outfielders like Nix that some team might be willing to swap? I would think if Nix was RH, he would have a decent chance of replacing the sad performance that Kevin Mench has been giving us all year. I can't see why Nix is on our team anymore. He seems the most likely to be traded. (Also, if he gets traded that open a spot for Gwynn in AAA)
  5. Where did you think that Big Mac came from?
  6. I will have to meet you sometime then. You might be the worlds only! (Ok, so many I am over stating a little. But I stand by my general theme.)
  7. Graduating High School is the most overrated accomplishment in the history of the world. Thanks to an education system in our country that looks to "pass" on their problems all a high school degree means is that you are able to read. (And I have seen many graduate in which that was debatable) You also haven't learned a single skill that will provide you with quality employment. Congrats on your graduation - because if you didn't make it that far, you wouldn't make it anywhere. But I hope you have about 10,000 things to be more proud of before it is all said and done.
  8. Are you an undercover cop trying to ferret out who all the pot heads are? I have NEVER met someone who liked Phish who wasn't using some sort of recreational drug. They are like the second step after going through the "Pink Floyd is amazing" stage. I can't stand Phish.
  9. Cabrera is my wife's least favorite player in the entire league. That opinion is based soley on his picture when he came to bad at Miller Park. He has his head cocked WAY back giving the "I know I'm cool" look. Just that picture alone makes him a punk. But seriously - financial issues make this a no. (Plus we didn't draft any pitching today)
  10. He will be AA in a matter of weeks. And as was said, will likely be where YoGa is currently by this time next year. The Brewers are built for the long haul...not to mortgage the future for 2 months worth of players.
  11. Kevin Mench - thanks for the 4 RBIs and a victory tonight. Now let me complain about you anyways... Does he EVER (and I mean EVER) swing at the first pitch? He stands in the batters box, and as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hands he sets the bat on his shoulder and steps out of the box as the pitch is coming to the plate. It looks like he has decided 100% that he won't swing at the first pitch. So the pitchers just serve up a fastball right down the plate and he is down in the count. Maybe he doesn't do this everytime, as he doesn't play that often - but I can't remember a time when he didn't. And I am glad he doubled in 3 runs tonight to win the game. But the bases were loaded and a right handed pitcher was on the mound. I think I would have called in Jenkins - but then I suppose they could have just countered back with a left handed reliever out of the pen. Mench makes me angry.
  12. Weeks on DL. Remember that LONG Cubs game when Villanueve came into the game and walked the first batter on like 4 pitches? Ned hopped out of the dugout in a heartbeat. He basically scolded Villanueva and said "You are all we have left in the pen, this game is yours to lose. Now stop messing around" I wish he would do that to Vargas. Vargas is looking more and more like Doug Davis. (Of course, I guess that isnt' that bad since he was a throw in to replace Davis) But I can't STAND to watch him pitch. I have to TiVo the game and fast forward his pitching.
  13. Lidge has been pitching very well as of late. His ERA is down around 3.00. He has around 30Ks to 11BB in 23 innings. Given that Turnbow seems pretty shaky once again - I would be willing to give a decent prospect and pay all of Lidge's salary to have him on our team this year. He could then transition into our closer next year.
  14. Still available. These seats are high up - but with a really good view. I'm asking $10 - but willing to negotiate a little too.
  15. I noticed his body language in today's game (5/28) certainly wasn't pleasant. He struck out once and whipped his bat and helmet on the ground at home plate. And in the 9th when he had to throw his bat to finally make some contact and was easily thrown out at first, he went in the dugout and throw his helmet against the floor and no one on the team dared to look back at him as he "pitched a fit" I know everyone is frustrated. But he seems VERY unhappy. As if his play hasn't been bad enough - his attitude hopefully can drive him out of town. On the bright side - we can officially say that Kevin Mench is this year's winner for the "Bad Chad Award"!
  16. This actually fits well into my next vent. I think the fact that Bill Hall is 12th in pitches per PA actually backs up my assement that he is prone to swing and miss at three pitches and head back to the dugout. He is only seeing 4.05 pitchers per PA. He needs at least 3 pitches to strike out! So of course he is seing lots of pitches. He is 12th in pitches per PA. He is also 11th in strike outs. I think I would probably average around 4 pitches per PA as well. I could set down my bat and see how many pitches it takes a pitcher to strike me out. I think I can get a least a ball every now and then.
  17. Would the president of the "Tony Gwynn needs less playing time" club forward me a membership package? I would like to join. I resisted for a LONG time because he was able to work the count a little. (And was basically the anti-Bill Hall - You know, three strikes/three home run swings and head back to the dugout) But watching him back 3rd in the 9th today was upsetting. Not to mention watching Mench bat against a right handed pitcher EVER! Weeks and Hall are swing at such bad pitches I think I saw them each take a swing at a throw to first base. Hardy looks like he has been corrupted by his homeruns and is taking some huge hacks at pitches low and away. (I was wondering when pitchers would stop pitching him inside) And Braun - Welcome to the big league kid. Now stop swinging at pitches above your head. I'm angry. A 6 game losing streak is not fun. I am not happy about this. Ned - I have a sickness. And the only cure is a few wins.
  18. I don't post often in the minor league forum - so go easy on me. And since this isn't just regarding his latest outing, I figured it was worthy of a new thread. Inman isn't really going to spend all of 2007 pitching for Brevard County is he? He has been lights out at every level so far. He was really good early in the season at Brevard County - but now is amazing. How long until he gets bumped another level? If/when Yo gets called to the bigs, does that create a movement where pitchers get bumped up and Inman ends up moving on? Also, what are we expecting for his estimated time of arrival? Open AAA next year - with maybe a MLB called up halfways through next year? He's been great - just wondering how long I have to wait until he is ready for the show.
  19. I have two tickets for the June 4th game and two tickets for the June 5th game. Both are Terrace Reserved Section 421- Row 16 - Seat 4 and 5. These are $18 bucks a ticket face. I can't go. Since brewerfan.net has been good to me - I am willing to be good back. $10 bucks a ticket and they are yours. Drop me a message. (But you better have a decent posting record of being an avid BREWER FAN! I don't want anymore Cubs fans.)
  20. What about Chad Cordero? I think I would be willing to for him. Brewers get help now - and a closer for the future when Coco (#1) walks. Washington get a high ceiling pitcher for the future. That said, I too am a big Inman fan and don't want to make any rash moves. My ONLY reason for trading him would be that he MIGHT get injured yet. And you are better off with a sure thing than a gamble.
  21. Anyone know where I can find stats for who is leading the league in grounded into double plays? I want to see where Johnny "double play" Estrada is currently ranked.
  22. Milledge in trouble for rap lyrics I would imagine the Mets must be pretty sour on this kid right now. He has been nothing but a headache for them. I don't care what he "projects" to - someone needs to tell him he should do something in the big league before he starts acting like an prima donna.
  23. Neither could Carlos Lee.
  24. Ding Ding Ding Career OPS of .955 against lefties. He can play 3B this year if Braun isn't ready - but trading for him doesn't cost more money, he saves money! Instead of our really expensive platoon of Mench and Jenkins we could offer Ensberg arbitration and have him for 6M or so and pair him with Gross in left. And our left field platoon salary just went down. Bottom line, he can play 3B pretty well. He has a really good OBP. And I would take him over Mench whenever possible.
  25. Don't want to leave you hanging out there alone... Both my wife and I both were unimpressed. I thought last week was much better.
