  1. I think it is good that we have such a deep bench that we can afford to give our studs regular time off. That means they will be all the more fresh to play for a month or two straight in September and October.
  2. Can't believe the Reds are so high on the list I think Griffey has a lot to do with that. I know he's been my favorite player for a long time.
  3. he has allowed at least one run in 11 of 44 appearances. More than one only 4 times. San Diego is 30-14 in games in which Linebrink has appeared. 17-8 at home, 13-6 on the road.
  4. BTW... we just each game we played 5 innings long for the opposing team.
  5. put me down for Balfour being the closer next season notice how that wasn't in Blue
  6. On the sunny side of things, Linebrink is an elite reliever and should give the Brewers some value for a few more years, even if you believe that he's reached his peak. Well, he is a FA at the end of the year, so i'm not sure how much he'll contribute to the Brewers after this year.
  7. We have a surplus of young pitchers. I have no problem giving up Inman who has struggled lately, he didn't really have a place on this team for the next couple years. I'm more upset we traded Thatcher, he could have been an asset in the pen next season, but Parra could be that lefty in the pen I suppose.
  8. That's fine and all to say that we should use the best pitcher in the most important inning. But if you are saying we should do that, you are saying that each player should be asked to do what is needed to be done to win the game. And if you agree with that, then you would have to agree that Prince Fielder should have bunted when we had runners on first and second with nobody out. If we would have bunted there, we would have had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out and a very good chance to score, then CoCo could have come in for the save.
  9. from what i recall, the three hole is the place that has nobody on and 2 outs more than any other spot in the order. So technically, shouldn't we put our worst hitter in the three spot? Just an interesting way to look at it.
  10. I would hate to give up on this guy so quickly. I have been really hoping that he could step in as our closer next season. I still think he has that potential, let him get his feet wet for a few more times and we will see the real Grant soon.
  11. I truly think Vargas will be gone before next season. My guess is he is traded in the offseason. Bush is most valuable as a starter, if they have no way of getting him into the rotation, I think we need to try to trade him (as much as i love the guy). If I had my ideal situation, the rotation would be Sheets, Gallardo, Villy, Suppan, Bush with Parra as the long relief man, like Villy was this year.
  12. according to the radio broadcast, Parra was tossing the ball in the pen in the 8th.
  13. Because we've never used wise like this before. He's not a long guy. Its just a very odd situation. Maybe they wanted to get him into the ninth to pick up the save and get a standing ovation send-off.
  14. Wise has to be getting traded. This doesn't make any sense.
  15. And he hit? This day has been ridiculously unproductive.
  16. Right now it seems like it was just a bunch of smoke and mirrors. But, now I'm more confused by the way that Ned is handling Wise now. Its very odd.
  17. Does this boost Wise's trade value http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Well, maybe they just wanted to show Wise's hitting ability before the trade went down.
  19. Yeah, DM's statement made me think even more that this trade is actually possible.
  20. Did Uke just say that JJ goes the other way? What JJ is he talking about?
  21. Well, Wise is getting warm. Its officially dead for today.
  22. Its a GMs job to put the best team possible on the field, not appease the fans. GMs know WAY more about baseball than we do.
  23. If Powell says Jack-o-la one more time, I'm gonna turn off the radio.
  24. The only reason we bring up the meeting is because Powell said its odd for there to be a staff meeting before a day game. So, take what you will out of it.
