  1. Tim, I may be interested in that. Jamie, I only gave up the one big hit against White House last time with no walks in 2 1/3. Outfield is not for me. Maybe I can get the start tonight? Dont get me wrong, I'll play anywhere, but I'm hurting the team w/ errors in the OF. ~~Luke
  2. As I said in the game thread. I would rather play the games. There is no playoff system, so being 3-4 as opposed to 1-4 at this point is pretty meaningless. It was nice of them to give us a few bucks, but I would trade all my bucks for longer games, a playoff system, & grounds and umps that care.
  3. I kind of have to agree. The league, in another crappy move, does not have a playoff system. Since we are 1-4, and essentially wont be winning a regular season title, what does being 3-4 get us? I'd rather just play the games since the wins don't do anything for us in achieving the playoffs.
  4. ATL is where we had to get some wins. I'd like to somehow get two of these next four and 1 of 4 in Arizona for a 5-5 trip. We face Arizona's best staff. Randy Johnson (4-5), Micah Owings (6-6), Cy Webb (11-4) & Dan Haren (8-4) w/ Suppan, McClung, Parra, Sheets Yuck.
  5. I like having Suppan in the community and in the clubhouse. I think he'll help this team in the post-season, shoud they get there. Veteran presence, etc. Big picture, I dont have a problem with Suppan. The money he is making is peanuts for #2 starters these days. He is only a #3 because Gallardo blossomed so quickly.
  6. Here's something interesting I've found that I assume is related to winning 1 run games, given the formula that is listed in small print at the very bottom of the screen. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/index.jsp It's the column titled X W-L, or expected win loss record based upon runs for and runs against. What is astounding is the Braves Expected Record. Wow.
  7. New Leader in the Clubhouse. Though I am looking for something with two words. For now, the leader in the clubhouse.
  8. Alright gang. Let me see what I have to work with. We'll miss you Kenny. Kenny, send me your email address so I can get you added to the tournament website and roster.
  9. Let me also point out that most of the guys I play with are from Florida, so therefore, anything ripping on the Dolphins or Buccanners makes more sense to them as opposed to 4th & 26. While clever as a Packer fan, I am, it doesn't mean a hill of beans to those guys like Dolphins/Bucs stories or national stories (Pacman Jones)
  10. Currently the Clubhouse Leader. I laughed out loud. Feel free to have multiple submissions. Winner to be decided Friday Afternoon.
  11. Last season, there was a thread here about creative fantasy football team names. I stole one from here and went with Vick's Doghouse and rolled to a 2nd place finish (Lost by 1 point in the championship (damn Tony Dungy). I am looking for some help again this year. So far I will be going with Pacman's Hostel unless somebody can come up with something better. To up the ante. The winner gets a pair of tickets (nice club seats) to Cubs vs Brewers at Miller Park on their choice of Mon 7/28 or Mon 7/30.
  12. Yes, I forgot the blue. I just wanted to point out what a worthless, non news worthy trade it was.
  13. It's clear by this move that. A) The Braves believe they are sellers B) This extremely hurts depth behind McCann and increases the Brewers odds at a playoff berth.
  14. I still want to know about Mench hitting against nighties.
  15. I dont know. You just said reunion and I knew of a few that celebrated teams that did not win the world series. Didnt know length of term was at issue.
  16. Yes, happens often in fact. 2 years ago, Boston Celebrated winning 1986 AL pennant w/ 20-year reunion. They lost WS in 6 games. http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/projo_20060627_27reunion.1843c6c.html Last year, The Giants celebrated winning the 1962 NL pennant w/ a 45-yaer reunion. They lost WS in 7 Games. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2007/06/22/SPGH6QK00O1.DTL&cid=0&ei=8DR8RqvYEJGIqwPY_OnlAw
  17. With all due respect, Mench should not be hitting against nighties...too distracting.
  18. I dunno. I think as a promotion as something to get people to the park, such as a bobblehead, poster, hat. The pump is just something to look at once you are there. But I've never said to myself, I got to get tickets tonight so I can get me a good peak at that Citgo sign.
  19. The citgo gas pump I dont believe is a promotion. I think it's just an advertisement.
  20. It doesn't tell us squat about he "feels about Milwaukee". It only tells us how he feels about his value. I wish people would stop assuming that because a guy doesnt want to play for peanuts and wants to negotiate his contract and doesnt sign the first thing thrown in front of his face that he wants out of a certain organization.
  21. Being a 3 hole hitter...no. As long as he keeps SLG with RISP, I could care less how many walks he draws.
