  1. For the record...a 19 pitch 1st inning for Ben Sheets. Submissions are closed.
  2. Please re-submit...your choice was taken on the 2nd page by JoGrG
  3. I'll add to that, similiarly, the "division lead" was not blown away last season, rather the "Cubs stood up and won it". Winning the games later rather than earlier just makes it seem like it was blown away.
  4. Despite the time it took to compile the list, I still don't like the idea that "Wins got away". This isn't football, where you can just sit on the clock. It's 27 outs. The first 3 outs count the same as the last 3, the first 6 to the middle 6, etc. Hence, the reason why I dont like "naming closers" or the save stat. That said, you should not give up 5 runs in an inning, regardless of the inning. Seemingly, all these games are games that were blown late, or as I prefer to call it, games that the other team "stood up and won". Therefore, only the July 3rd game I think have a significant impact to the season. Opponents "earn" their victories, not blow them away. It just seems blown away because they get the runs late, as opposed to early. Just my take.
  5. Already taken on page 1, please feel free to re-submit
  6. I think it is after he runs, he gets "chew" pieces in the back of the throat and is trying to get them up?
  7. I consider myself a good putter. However, I'll be honest, most times I am focused on NOT 3-putting. I usually concentrate solely on distance and speed and making sure that I keep it close. 100% of the time. I often times, don't go for it, so to speak. I usually don't leave putts short, nor really long, but will miss right or left with an easy tap-in.

  9. There is an in-game contest tonight....Winner gets Sweet Tickets for Sunday's Sabathia Start. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=13999
  10. Alright, so it's my turn to play Pedro. In an effort to "pay it forward" from last season's generous offer of tickets on my marriage proposal game, I am offering up a pair of tickets to see CC Sabathia pitch on Sunday. But since I'm a sucker for contests, instead of the proverbial pull from a hat, the rules are as follows: 1) Predict the total number of runs scored of tonight's Brewers vs Rockies game (Sheets vs Rusch) July 9th, 2008 7:05 CST start. This includes both teams. (Ex Brewers 7 Rockies 3 ...your answer would be 10) 2) Tiebreaker; total number of pitches thrown by Ben Sheets in the 1st inning. 3) You must predict both runs and provide a tiebreaker to be eligible. 4) The tickets are for Sunday's game vs Cincinnati (Sabathia vs Harang) a 1:05 CST start. 5) These are awesome seats Sec 334, row #2. Infield Club (w/ waitstaff service) 6) Since they are a $76 dollar value, please don't play if you don't intend to attend the game and just intend to sell them to make a buck. As an employee, the Brewers don't condone me selling them and I expect the same treatment to avoid any problems. 7) If you don't have a buddy, or a date, or are not incredibly obese, please state so, and a 2nd place winner could receive the other ticket. 8) To protect the integrity of the contest; edited submissions will not be accepted. 9) Winners will be contacted by IM and an address for shipping request or meeting arrangements (Milwaukee Metro) will be arranged. I'll be attending the game as well in the same row, so that is an option. 10) Deadline is 7:00pm CST....1 entry per person. If you have multiple accounts, then you will have defeated the system.....have fun!

  16. Ned Yost apparently spending too much time voting... "I voted until I went Blind", Yost said, "I missed five straight authetic codes and said the hell with it, I quit". Anti-Yost boys will have fun with this one.
  17. I understand that Mark Redman has "owned" the Brewers. But seriously, the 2003 Brewers and 2008 Brewers are two completely different dynamics.
  18. I agree. Keep Braun out. Especially with his hand hurting him. It's really only 1 spot that is open, as it's 4 from the NL and 3 are decided upon.
  19. No Offense, but if you REALLY wanted go. A bus ride from almost anywhere is $1.50 and Uecker seats are $1.00.
  20. I dont think Milwaukee Recreation is the problem. In speaking to the director, It's the groundskeepers and who schedules the groundskeepers. For the example of Dyer, the same groundskeepers that take care of Dyer, also have to take care of 7 other parks that given day. So, if they line and rake Dyer at 8am, and it rains at 10am and stops raining at Noon, the groundskeepers refuse to go back to Dyer to take care of the field, because they have 7 other fields to take care of that day. It's lazy and mismanaged.
  21. I'm not working tonight, can't get the scoop. Unusual things happen like plane flights, car rentals, etc when trades and roster movements happen. If it happens tomorrow, I can scoop it, but today, alas!
  22. Matt LaPorta is out of the lineup tonight for Huntsville.
