  1. Just confirming that Friday works out great. Let me know when practices are. Also, I'm up for bp with anybody 1-1 or the more the merrier any night of the week once the snow melts. I prefer 2b, but can play anywhere and prefer the number 4 or 16.
  2. Just went to Milwaukeebrewers.com and had to watch the top plays for that game. I'm so ready for spring. On a sad note, I watched the Jenkins highlight from that game. Sheer hustle, head down stretching for a triple. I'm going to miss that. Maybe we can get him back if we are nearing the playoffs and Philly is out of it. Wishful thinking.
  3. I use a Worth Mayhem, the M7 edition. It's the only Mayhem that is ASA approved. Absolutely love it, had it since Fall of 96'.
  4. The traffic planning in this county absolutely sucks. When I moved away from milwaukee, I was only 15 and not yet driving. Since I've moved back this past fall, I've discovered this. What's bugging me is the fact that the "stadium freeway" as i hear it is called only runs a freakin two miles. I believe it is technically hwy 41 that runs from Miller Park until only about North Ave. It is a "green" road on most maps and the ending signage even states "Freeway ends". On most days, I have to travel to brown deer road around 60th st and wish they would have built that damn freeway to run the entire length of the county. As it stands now, I have to drive all the way east to I-43, or all the way west to Hwy 45. Both of which are absolutely freaking crowded in the morning. Anybody ever try to get from the Hale Interchange to the Zoo interchange in the morning. Traffic is absolutely stopped on the interstate. Barring a major crash, it is my opinion that traffic should NEVER be STOPPED on a freakin expressway! That little stadium freeway is a nice little road, if it ran for more than two miles. I realize houses and businesses are established there, but my godness. Getting around this town in rush hour is absurd. I haven't timed it, but I bet I could get from brown deer road to College Ave using 76th St, quicker than using this city's interstate system. There, i'm done. my rant is over. thanks for listening.
  5. Moved from Florida this past fall where I built my own team, took em to tournaments, etc. Certainly miss being able to play 2-4 days a week all year around. I'd be down for any day of the week.
  6. The worst...hands down is Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL. I really liked Camden Yards.
  7. It comes down to either pitching your starter to long or going to Aquino/Spurling/ect. Sort of like deciding wether you want to be kicked in the balls or in the head. I agree. I have to believe the strategy of bullpen management will change a little bit based upon the names that you have out there in the bullpen rather than a handful of AAAA or castoffs (aquino, spurling, etc). I believe there was a ton of "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenarios with the bullpen management last year. This year, they seemingly have a crop of guys they could turn to in order to get that 1 batter out and not have to worry about the next pitching move. Like last year when it was suggested to bring in Cordero in the 7th and 8th with seemingly no quality option after him.

  9. I dont know Rochester from Chicago or a hole in the wall in regard to this league. Someday, it could be a rivalry, but they aren't a rival today. In March, it'll just be another game on the schedule. Wisconsin-Northwestern isn't a rival. That's Wisconsin vs Chicago in some regards, they are in the same conference, but I wouldn't call them a rival, would you? Chances are if the league lasts and a franchise lasts in both cities, they could end up being a rivalry. I get your points, just not there yet, in my opinion.
  10. Rivals are made, not just assigned due to geographical boundaries. Also, there are rivalries made outside of the division, SF/GB, etc. Pimp your organization all you want, just don't use "rival" in your advertisement as if the game has extra meaning. There are plenty of division teams that don't get as jacked up for each other and therefore I wouldn't call them rivals simply due to division alone. An example being TB Lightning and Florida Panthers in the NHL. From dictionary.com when used as a noun as you have used it a person or thing that is in a position to dispute another's preeminence or superiority . I don't think either team is in a position to dispute either one of those things, they are just playing their first football game.
  11. I found round trip via British Airways website for 644.23. The flights are direct from Ohare to Heathrow. May 21st to May 27th. That's Wed to Tues. There is some play with the days. www.britishairways.com Of course there are fees for changing the flights are booking, etc. But appears to be a great price for international travel. Good luck
  12. rival Chicago Slaughter Not a game in the books and they already have a rival? How does this happen? Do rivals neccessairly have to be the team closest to your city? In my opinion no, rivals are decided by the gameplay and history made out of actually playing, not distance from town to town. In football for example, Dallas and Philly and New England/Miami.
  13. Wow, minor league hockey used to be big. I personally don't care for major league hockey, tending only to watch hockey when it's the Olympics. I never had a lot of hockey exposure and tend to believe that while the action is hard-hitting, there isn't enough scoring or scoring opportunities to make it exciting, ala soccer. I do like to get behind local teams, however can't bring myself to go to an Admirals game over a sport i'm not lukewarm about anyway. Now indoor soccer seems exciting and when living in Tampa, I was a huge Storm fan. Didn't this city used to have an AFL franchise? Any idea what the numbers are for the WAVE as compared to the Admirals. I'm also wondering what the reaction and turnout will be for the Bonecrushers. With a lot of local boys on that team and constant hype from 1250AM, maybe they will surpass the Admirals. It's that lull time of the year between Packers and Brewers with the Bucks sucking, so I'm looking for a sports out until opening day http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I had no idea the Milwaukee Admirals were owned by Sheets, Attanasio, and Ash. Kind of makes me think Attanasio and Sheets might have a firmer relationship than just baseball and could influence the decisions to keep him in Milwaukee.
  15. Why do I keep thinking "Jeffrey Hammonds" in my head when I hear the name "Mike Cameron". Is this unreasonable? The situation seems to be mirror images. Center Fielder, Big Contract. Big disappointment.
  16. LDS: LA Angels def. Boston in 5 Cleveland def NYY in 5 Philadelphia def Colorado in 4 Arizona def Chicago Cubs in 5 LCS: Cleveland def LA Angels in 6 Philadelphia def Arizona in 5 WS: Cleveland def Philadelphia in 7
  17. Derrick Turnbow has the most losses by the brewers bullpen. It's easily Turnbow. How do you walk 44 guys in 68 innings and be a setup man? I know there aren't a lot of better options, but my god. I also blame Doug Melvin for not finding better help at the break. Linebrink has been serviceable, but surely somebody could have been bought. There are no promises for next season and it doesn't appear Doug Melvin gave Ned Yost the ammunition to put up much of a fight in the 2nd half of 2007.
  18. The bullpen and pitching coaches.
  19. Why does this matter I didn't want anybody to think I meant Pence, I mean the other rookie outfielder. Should have just said other rookie outfielder not named Pence, but african american was quicker to write. Sry if I offended anyone.
  20. gosh darn?
  21. Anybody else annoyed with that g.d. little happy hop that Soriano does every time he catches a fly ball? I noticed that new african american outfielder for the astros did that as well. So freaking annoying. He just did it with the Cubs losing early, a couple of Marlins on base and only 1 out. Just catch the ball and throw it in. Keep your cockiness to yourself, especially when your team is losing....arseclown!
  22. I paid for my lottery tickets last night for the division series. Naturally I picked game #1 (game 3) as there are no guarantees to a game 4. Terrace Level was best available around 9pm when I bought.
  23. Woo Hoo, I'm a winner. By the way, has a price list been published for the Division Series?
  24. nevermind, found my own answer on or about Thursday, 09/20/2007. :sigh: may just have to put a deposit down on some terrace reserved...not that I really want to sit there though http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
