  1. I have to agree with the past two posts, I have no idea what a rickroll is or how that came about, so maybe that is why I am not understanding the level of vehements thrown at this fella. I am however not sure why posters on here get so upset when somebody tries to impart some news that may perhaps be of the "breaking" tense. I do however agree that some new posting rule perhaps has to be adopted here. No personal promotion should be allowed, except in the trading forum.
  2. Roof being re-opened in time for first pitch.
  3. Oh boy. Hey Jamie, can you come off the DL for one on Thursday?
  4. I totally see the point, but do you think he would have done that if he hadn't taken a beating for 24 hours with 50 posts trying to bring him and the publication down beforehand? I doubt it. It goes both ways in that regard, IMO.
  5. Thanks Peavey, I was unaware of the professionalism. I've heard for months that Gallardo wouldn't pitch, yada yada. Now it happens and the same people are routinely trying to discredit it. It just gets old after a while.
  6. Typical around here. Nobody can post news without having a geeky jsonline URL for proof and it's one to two days of taking a flogging. Maybe there has been a backlash in the past or something that has them all gunshy. But thank you sir for providing some insight and trying your best to keep brewerfan.net ahead of the curve, whether it's appreciated by most or not.
  7. The roof is being closed as we speak. I dont have the open/closed splits in front of me, but I think they are favorable.
  8. Next Season, their rotation will most likely be Oswalt, Sheets, Wolf, Backe, whoever. Unless the Brewers make some dramatic splashes in Free Agency or Trade, they will likely have the 4th best rotation in the division and likely will fall in line in the standings likewise around 4th/5th.
  9. Better make a blank page on your website and quickly write a story or you will be getting flogged for the next two days until jsonline writes about it. Nobody could possibly break any news but Tom Haudricort!!! :gasp:
  10. No Sir, the reason is Rickie Weeks doning a MLB uniform and not Callix Crabbe.....oh couldn't resist. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  11. According to Haudricourt, Sveum has been told if we don't make the playoffs, a new manager will be hired. That said, isn't a 1-game playoff technically the playoffs? If we make it to a 1 game playoff, does that technically end the 26 year drought?
  12. I couldn't find the blue font. It was actually poking fun at the negatism and the shortsightedness of the quoted post from July. The slide hasn't changed anything, I've been negative on Rickie Weeks for the past 3 years http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  13. Wow, I can add, not!. I think it's just funny, like that schoolyard, don't cross this line, ok, this line, no,this line. I think the intent was pretty clear, but spin it however. I think the dumb part was not predicting 8-1, it was giving a stipulation if it didn't happen. I could care less if he follows through with it or not. It's not as if he promised to off himself with a Ruger .27 and we need to talk him off the ledge and try to make up what he "really meant" to save his life. . A goofy prediction was backed by another equally goofy proclamation. It would have been better to just lock the thread once they went 0-2 to prevent people from coming in and laughing at him that he was wrong. But in fact, that didn't happen. Rather people came in first and started making up excuses and trying to paint a different picture for him, that's what's funny.
  14. It would be impossible to finish the playoffs, 8-1. Losing only 1 game would mean making the World Series, yet, you can't win the World Series by winning only 8 games. Keep dancing fellas...keep dancing around the subject.
  15. and it (pursuit of 8-1) starts tomorrow night?
  16. I think these numbers projections are a lot to do about nothing. The economy of baseball and the economy in general changes too rapidly. 4 million next year won't be what it is this year. To these ball players, it's getting harder and harder to stretch that $4,000,000 into 5 homes, 3 cars, 2 boats, etc. He'll have to ask for $4,200,000 just on principal of economics and then worry about how it compares to Reyes and Rollins.
  17. This is not some thread I am starting just to try to give myself a glimmer of hope for the rest of the season. I will put my reputation on the line. This season is going to end special and it starts tomorrow night boys and girls! Get on board and enjoy it. We are finishing this season 8-1. Trust me on this one, the regular season will end on a high note. One game at a time......lets rally behind the troops and get this done. That's the quote. It clearly references regular season.
  18. Some mentioned having tickets to the Brewers game and I don't recall who you are. Please advise if you are in or out.
  19. Pittsburg Tuesday Bush (9-10) Karstens (2-6) Pittsburg Wednesday Sheets (13-8) Maholm (9-8) Pittsburgh Thursday Sabathia (15-10) Duke (5-14) Cubs Friday Suppan (10-10) Dempster (17-6) Cubs Saturday McClung (5-6) Marquis (10-9) Cubs Sunday Bush (9-10) Harden (10-2) CC twice would be 3-days rest both times
  20. Can we let this thread die. Since it's inception, the team is playing under .500. Sounds like good enough reason. I'd rather see more untuckem happining on the field than off.
  21. Walks are overrated, especially with the way this team GIDP's.
  22. This thread seems to get rejuvenated everyday? Is there some new news or something? We were told this was not going to happen and to get it out of our heads, yet..wha? Does Gallardo have the arm strength to even get out little leaguers? Why risk injury, we need him for the next playoff run in 2013!
  23. The financial numbers are irrelevant to me. They are both talented ballplayers and I'd like to see each signed to a long term contract. Whether it is $25 million or $30 million, 3 years or 4 years, $250k bonus or not, performance bonuses or no is just menial chatter. Get them both signed. Haggling over a few million loses you good quality people like Francisco Cordero and forces you to spend even more money on free agents risks such as Eric Gagne.
  24. Pete and Repeat went down to the lake, Pete fell in, who was left?
