  1. Look at those plushdamentals! Nyjer slides to a stop to avoid making an out at the plate. Get this one done, Prince.
  2. It is nice to hear Jim Powell call a Brewers game again (this time as a Braves radio analyst). Lowe seems to be dealing tonight, hopefully we can be patient and get some runners on in the next few innings.
  3. I was at the game. Scoreboard looks great, but is pretty bright. I took a ton of pictures of it/random graphics. Crowd was okay, most got restless and basically bailed after Saito gave up the two home runs in the 8th inning and Fielder grounded into the double play. The general population of fans around me weren't any more or any less obnoxious than usual.
  4. The most frustrating thing about the game was the lack of RISP hitting. There were some nice productive outs moving runners, only for Nieves to strike out or someone else to not get a runner home. Narveson pitched really well. I concur about the team being in need of taking pitches and working the count. Sometimes a pitcher is pounding the zone with strikes, but it was disheartening to see Gomez, Betancourt, and Nieves swing out of their shoes when all we really needed in their spots was a guy to get on base. At this point we just kind of have to ride it out and go into survival mode until the reinforcements come. The new scoreboard is awesome. They forgot Nyjer during intros and he doesn't have a picture for the screen yet. At least he has batting music (2Pac - All Eyez On Me). I'm guessing they really didn't have much time to change over at bat songs because all of the holdovers were pretty much the same except for Weeks. Nieves had one of Escobar's songs from last year.
  5. It seems like the big three matches (Undertaker-Triple H, Lawler-Cole, Cena-Miz) were all very underwhelming. HHH-Undertaker had its moments, but the match also seemed to lumber on at points. Some of the earlier matches (Mysterio-Rhodes, Edge-Del Rio, etc.) made up for it a bit, but overall as has been previously said this WrestleMania really didn't have that "moment." The vignette with Snoop Dogg, Teddy Long, and Roddy Piper smashing the dude singing "Friday" was pretty funny, though.
  6. Headed out to the park now. Looks like Morgan gets the start in RF. Go Brewers!
  7. I'll be watching WM 27 later tonight, so for most of the evening I'll be trying to avoid spoilers, but here are my random predictions: Taker over Triple H (I wouldn't be completely surprised to see HBK cost HHH the match) Lawler over Cole (Both Cole and Swagger catch stunners) Cena over Miz (Something tells me Rock is going to cost Miz the match, way too much buildup on the Rock-Cena angle. Hope I'm wrong.) Snookie/Morrison/Trish over Laycool and Zigler (Snookie pins Zigler) Edge over Del Rio Punk over Orton Corre over Kane, Big Show, Santino, Kofi Mysterio over Rhodes Sheamus over Bryan
  8. Sigh, Betancourt. Hopefully the defense improves because we haven't been very sharp so far in the first three games.
  9. It's hard to believe the Reds are this good, but they did win the division last year so I guess that's something. Geez Kotsay. Could you have played that any worse?
  10. Cali (Kottaras) needs to bring the beard back. Just sayin'. Nice start for Wolf.
  11. A win would definitely be nice today. I changed my avatar out of superstition, so that has to help, right? Hopefully the Kottaras-Wolf magic of the second half last year can continue.
  12. I'd take Brooks Kieschnick, too. He could always throw an inning or two in a pinch.
  13. This situation right here is where having a bench that lacks power really hurts. With the bottom of the lineup we're going to need to string together multiple hits to tie this game.
  14. I wish we could play that kind of defense on a nightly basis.
  15. Dear Nyjer, nice job. Now don't get thrown out trying to steal down three.
  16. That ball hit Fielder in the glove. The fact Weeks is charged with that error is asinine. Yikes.
  17. I was looking for the 2011 poster, too. I did not see it last Sunday or in the Wednesday edition. My only other thought is maybe it will be in this Sunday's paper if they are going to do it. I noticed a color schedule was in the Baseball Preview edition, I hope that's not it and they cut the poster, but we'll soon find out.
  18. 2 @ Cin 1-1 4 vs. Atl 2-2 3 vs. ChC 1-2 3 @ Pit 2-1 3 @ Was 2-1 3 @ Phi 1-2 3 vs. Hou 2-1 3 vs. Cin 2-1 2 @ Hou 1-1 14-12, just as a random tiebreaker, Gomez goes 9-13 on steal attempts in April.
  19. I missed seeing "In Play, Run(s)." Now I wait for MLB At Bat to catch up to hear Uecker's call.
  20. Hooray, baseball! I'm looking forward to (as John Axford put it) the 2011 Brewers Domination Station. Start the season right with a big win. I'm at work, but will be taking in the sounds of Uecker and Provus very soon. Doesn't get much better than that, folks.
  21. McCalvy tweeted Morgan will wear #2, Reed #7, Almonte #22. It sounds like Morgan made a nice throw to the plate to stop a runner from tagging up and trying to score earlier in the game when he was playing left field. He has now moved to right. Testing his versatility right out of the box.
  22. Haudricourt just tweeted Luis Cruz cleared waivers and was assigned to Nashville (also McCalvy, who didn't spell Brewers as Rewers). Seems like Almonte will be the last bench guy. They need at least one right handed bat. Acquiring Morgan probably sealed Cruz's fate since they had been playing Cruz in the outfield this spring to test his versatility.
