  1. Congrats to all three of them. They are all are deserving, Hart especially considering Diego started opening day and Hart basically had to play out of his mind for Macha to play him every day. Diego, Gerut, and Inglett all getting injured helped, also.
  2. While I did make the Homer Simpson groan noise when I read Bush was pitching tomorrow (I'm 0-3 in Bush starts this year), I'm hopeful Yo can out-duel Wainwright today.
  3. I am glad the Brewers were able to win this one. I was hanging by the WTMJ-mobile at Summerfest listening to the game until it was 8-0. Once it was 8-0 I figured if they blew that lead, I wouldn't want to be around to listen to it! And those Cardinal fans booing their own team was so classy.
  4. Lets go Narvdog! Make it happen. Victory is yours for the taking.
  5. Now that I decided to do my homework on this one, Joe Smith is probably a better comparison than Tim Thomas. Gooden and Smith's career statistics are fairly similar. In the grand scheme of things it is nice to see the Bucks making positive moves instead of salary dumps. Gooden averages 11.9 PPG and 7.9 RPG over an average of 27.7 MPG. Those are pretty solid statistics. If the Bucks play Gooden around 30 minutes/game as is his average, that still gives them plenty of time to rotate in other guys.
  6. When I think Drew Gooden, I think Tim Thomas of this decade. A guy who has the physical tools to be dominant, but is just kind of soft. It's nice to add depth, but it's a pretty hefty price.
  7. Dear Brewers, I've had enough disappointment today. A win would be nice.
  8. I'm a self-admitted Villanueva apologist, but he's been awful since the end of April. He had an ERA of 6.43 in May and an ERA of 5.56 in June. His statistics make me wonder if he is injured at all. Since he's got an option left I wouldn't be surprised to see him be the guy shown the door when Double D comes back to keep depth. Axford and Braddock have been too good to send down, and I'd imagine the Brewers have no intention to DFA anyone.
  9. Go ahead and crush one here, Corey. Protect us from our bullpen. Or not. It is good to see the Brewers with some timely hitting.
  10. Just FWIW, Cory said on the radio broadcast he spoke with Macha and Escobar's day off was pre-planned before the collision yesterday and the collision has nothing to do with Esco getting the day off.
  11. Probably a little of both, viaarete. Esco has played 3 straight games, and Macha's trend has been to play him 4 out of 5 games.
  12. So apparently Axford's music is Foo Fighters - Pretender. Not nearly as exciting as Hells Bells, but at least he's got something they play for the duration of time between the end of the 8th and start of the 9th.
  13. Yeah hawing, every time I saw a left handed batter pop up in the on-deck circle I took a picture, and promptly titled the picture "not Branyan." Finally after I'd put my camera away my friend was like "that guy looks like Branyan" and I took out the camera just in time to get him walking back to the dugout after Axford struck out Josh Wilson to end the game. The Esco/Go-Go collision is on MLB.com in highlights, that looked ugly. Go-Go stepped on his ankle/heel. Also funny tidbit, after Lucroy made the last out in that inning where the bases were loaded while Lucroy put on his gear Counsell warmed up Narveson. I didn't notice until I saw them switch and I was like "that's not Epic Beard (Kottaras)!" I was too late on the picture for that, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  14. That was a quick game. Narveson was dealing, albeit against what most consider a sub-par lineup. A win is a win, and a series victory is pretty sweet. I'm just glad Ax-Man left this man on deck: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_1264.jpg
  15. I'm headed to the stadium now. Brewers, I'd like to hear "I Gotta Feeling" at the end of today's game. In order for that to happen, you know what you need to do. Go Brewers!
  16. I kind of hope Branyan plays today, just because. It'll be nice to see 3TO again, even if he's in an opponent's uniform.
  17. That just means Macha would then further be an idiot and use Narveson or Parra as a LOOGY, which would be further frustrating. Tough loss today, hopefully they can go out and get the series tomorrow. Two out of three isn't bad.
  18. Seeing anyone but Sweeney right now has to be a boost for the Brewers morale. Lets grab a victory from the jaws of defeat, boys. Get someone on so Counsell can drive them in.
  19. At some point we may want to consider using Capuano. Not that a one run game is that time, but since Capuano hasn't pitched in two full weeks it may be good for him to do so at some point. ETA: With the way we're burning through the bullpen today, we'll probably see Capuano after all.
  20. Wow, Mariners defense fell asleep at the wheel there. Weeks plowed Johnson, and I'm guessing Hart picked up on that.
  21. That looked like a good passing team splitting Jarrett Bush and Atari Bigby. LOL
