  1. I'm late, but hooray Epic Beard! It is pretty scary that Wolf's FIP is that terrible.
  2. It's the Pirates, but his pitching performance today was assuredly better than what we saw yesterday. I'm glad we were able to get Cappy a win, and I'm glad to see the Pirates again!
  3. Good call on that. They did cite it as 2003. I half questioned it, but I was too lazy to fact-check and look it up.
  4. 60-65. They'll probably try to squeeze the rest of this inning out of him and get Villanueva in.
  5. Prince goes boom and gives that trade value another nudge north.
  6. Braun wants the team lead in GIDP all to himself, that's all. Gomez was getting too close. Cain looks to have quick hands and a nice swing. I'd like to see him get more playing time, but I won't hold my breath on that.
  7. They seem to be the main course instead of a side dish for a select few of our pitchers. As Uecker would say, a couple granny's and we're right back in this one (in the lead, even!).
  8. Most updated information claims the start time is 1:10pm CDT.
  9. Chipper's a scratch today and has been replaced in the lineup by Omar Infante, who will bat third. The start of the game has also been delayed due to rain.
  10. Provided no warnings are issued prior to the game, I'll put my chips on Parra drilling Heyward in the back or leg in the first inning and this whole thing will be over with.
  11. Parra is going to plug Heyward in the back tomorrow. That's just the passive-aggressive way baseball is these days. Previously Loe would have buried one in the ear-hole of the first guy he faced this inning.
  12. I don't think this is what Trevor Hoffman envisioned for pitching in the ninth inning, but three outs are three outs, and a win is a win!
  13. When I first saw this trade I was confused, but the more I read it seems as though the Braves' brass was fed up with Escobar. This article pretty much sums up why the move was made. In addition to Escobar's lackadaisical play and streakiness, he may actually cost more than Gonzalez next year. As well, the Braves have a SS prospect they are high on who may be ready to contribute in 2012, so they see Gonzalez as a stopgap. My friends who are Braves fans seemed more content to rid themselves of Escobar than anything.
  14. They're not quite as big, but they do look like the Rawlings S100's. Maybe they are testing a revised version. It still looks ridiculous, but not as ridiculous, lol.
  15. Are all of the NL players wearing the super giant concussion-proof helmet tonight? It looks like Braun's batting helmet is extra big.
  16. Nice Ryan, nice. I saw that ball rolling all the way to the wall.
  17. The shadows are to blame for Braun's double play.
  18. Drive those ticket prices down, Corey! Compared to the first two guys, what a show!
  19. That SportScience bit they just did about hitting home runs was pretty cool.
